Jan 13, 2010When I try to sync the contact list from outlook I get the error "unable to read application Data". I can sync my calendar, tasks and memos from Outlook, but for some reason I have problems with the contacts.

May 21, 2010I have tried and tried, but can't get Media Sync to find my BB Curve.Desktop Manager can find my BB - and it says it's working & connected, but when I launch Media Sync, after 3 mins of searching, it says "Please connect a BB device".
I have tried without launching DTM - i.e. launching Media Sync on its own.I have tried all variations of restarts, of both BB and laptop AND removing the battery at all sorts of stages in the process. No joy.
I don't see a drive on Windows Explorer with my BB however.I'm running Windows Vista, SP1.
1. Device model number: 8520
2. carrier or mobile provider: Virgin Mobile
3. OS release v 5.0.0.592
Extra history:
1) I downloaded Desktop Manager from the CD and then updated it automatically.
2) I then followed some detailed instructions from this forum elsewhere and totally removed every trace of it (including regedit entries).
3) I downloaded a clean copy of the latest DTM from BB website
4) I then updated the Curve OS software - now on version 5.01 (and yes, like everyone I prefered the old style of key locking!)
5) I also replaced the USB cable since that seemed to provoke a constant cycle of reboots on my BB - this was an earlier problem that a different cable fixed,

Jun 18, 2012For some reason when I try to sync my phone to outlook I get the window saying synchronising data followed by another window saying select one or more items to sync. Both contacts and calendar are selected and I haven't changed anything, all I have done was leaving the country for a few days and now I am back the synchronisation no longer works.When I go to the organizer tab, calendar and contacts are ticked but when I click to configure I get an error message?

Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Jun 5, 2010I tried updating from the blackberry website. When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?

May 19, 2010Here is what I would like to do and did in the past with Media player and my HTC Touch Pro 2 - I created an auto playlist that selects songs that have NOT been listened to, a playcount less than one. (it doesn't show up in the desktop manager for media sync) I would like to be able to listen to stuff (causing a play count of one on the phone), and then when I re-connect to the computer have media player remove what has a play count of more than zero. This had some success with my HTC Touch Pro 2. It appears to NOT work on my 8530, it looks like NOTHING gets removed from the phone and there is no "auto" about it. The memory card is full, I listened to songs, re-connected to the computer and it appears that media player sees that the card is full and does nothing.I have had my 8530 1 DAY and have gotten many answers here from previous threads.

Feb 23, 2011I am aware that there have been issues raised previously and particularly one thread regarding the time delay between deleting emails on the server which remain on the BB.
My problem is an inability to delete emails on the BB. This problem only affects the Gmail email linked to my BB, not the other email accounts. Prior to linking the Gmail account to the BB, I spent time archiving messages from the Gmail account. This was 10 days ago.
So today I ring my carrier (Orange) for advice. They tell me that there are over 3500 messages in the inbox on the Gmail server and that is what is causing my problem. Whilst speaking to them, I was able to look at the server and confirm that there are only a couple of hundred opened messages on the server as far as I am concerned exactly as I expected.
I do have messages in other folders but the sum total is not per Orange's advice. Its worth noting that there are many many more messages on the respective servers for the other accounts for which no problem exists.

Feb 17, 2012am using Curve 8520. All of sudden I am unable to hear voice from ear piece. When I check my display screen ear piece icon flashes with headset symbol. This continuously happening till I disconnect the call. I have used my headset & I am able to hear loud & clear. I wish I could get some experts assistance on fixing the issue.

Dec 11, 2011i am trying to connect my blackberry curve 8520 to my own wi-fi at home, but it will not connect me to the router?its says to enter a pin to the router... i have watched videos on Internet and followed them step by step, but yet it still does not connect, this is what i have done:
-went to main menu
-clicked on 'manage connections'
-made sure the 'wi-fi on' box is ticked
-then clicked 'set up wi-fi network'
-scan for networks
-clicked on the network which is my router
-then it comes up saying
'provisioning wi-fi profiles...enter this pin into your wireless router: 18104707 time remaining 4:11.'
