I am having a persistent problem with my phone Track Ball navigation. It keeps getting stuck and does not scroll. I got it fixed by paying a good amount of repairing charge. The phone worked fine for a week but again the track ball has stopped responding. Its creating a huge problem and I do not know where to get it fixed. I am extremely dissatisfied with the phone and Blackberry services.
View 1 RepliesThe track ball on my BB Curve 8330 will scroll left and right but not up or down, which really limits my use of it. I tried taking out the battery, cleaning the ball with alcohol, turning it off and back on. The ball seems loose - not sticky.

At the beginning the track ball would get stuck every once in a great while and it didn't bother me because it wouldn't be that often. Well now it gets stuck ALL the time. Now if I take it to a Verizon store will they trade it since its still under warranty? I also have insurance for it, will the insurance take it back with the logo scratched?

I know how to get to my messages with the short cut, but how do I scroll through each one, and when I am in a message is is possible to scroll while in a message? I have two picture mails that need to be viewed and sent to my e-mail. FYI- when I enter the messages using the short-cut "M" it puts me on the date so I cannot move, hitting the enter key defaults me to send an e-mail!!!

Then I downloaded a game and a theme.. about 30 mins after the theme it started not to work.The only thing I can do is take a picture.The track ball wont move at all. Left or right. It will take a picture.Is there anything I can do? Both T Moblie and Littlewoods.com (who I bought it off) can't help as the warrenty is over now. I am unhappy with this phone now. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy track ball stopped working correctly and I was advised by my friendly T-Mobile store clerk to use rubbing alcohol on it. it worked!! I can now scroll up & to the right which I could not do..However, the two keys to the right of the track ball stopped working. "back key" and the hang up/power key. They dont do anything.. Also, when pushing the track ball in as to utiltize the "enter function" also does not work.

I go to bed wake up and my scroll ball wont click. It scrolls fine but does not select when pressed. I took it to Verizon, they claim water damage. I haven't dropped it in water or anything like that so I am not sure how that's possible. They replaced my trackball and it still doesn't work. Any additional ideas? I can go the Asurion and replace it but don't really want to do that for something as minute as this.

To answer a text message at this point (after there is a message notification), I have to scroll to message Icon, click with ball, hit menu key, scroll down to "view folder", and then scroll to "SMS Inbox". Surely there is a simpler way to this?
I've also read about combining SMS and MMS messages into a single message type-is this possible? Can I at least combine the inbox/outboxes?
I've been having a bizzare issue with my Blackberry 8900. Basically, the trackball will just stop scrolling and I can't move anywhere. But the trackball itself doesn't feel physically stuck, it moves the same as always, but it won't move on the screen. It does, however, let me select still using the trackball. The menus aren't frozen, it's just a scrolling issue.
I've tried re-installing the software and have the most recent update available. I've tried restoring it to factory settings, but it's no good. The problem is intermittent - about 90% of the time it's frozen. The only thing I've discovered to remedy it is a battery and sim pull - this worked for a while, and I was able to use the phone as normal, but it stop scrolling and need a sim pull approx every 24 hours. Now that doesn't even work. I gave up trying to use it and put my sim in my old Blackberry, but turned my 8900 on anyway (simless) and it worked! I thought it was a fluke at first, but I've been trying it all week - keeping my phone on, simless, and noting that it works all the time - no problems at all. Occasionally I'll try putting my sim back in my 8900 and sure enough it breaks again. So I started to suspect there was an issue with the sim. I called up Orange and got them to send me out a new one, just in case that was the issue. They've done that, it's all registered, but still I'm having the same problem - it won't let me scroll when there's an active sim inside, but as soon as I take it out it's like there's no problem at all.
Just wondering if the new track pad has the flick scroll feature. If not I'll stay with my storm.

The ball will scroll but I cant click on anything or use ANY of the keys. It registers as getting texts in and my light is blinking but, like I said, I can't access anything at all. I have removed the battery for nearly 12 hours to no avail.

It did this a few months ago, then miraculously started working again. This time, it started working again for about 20 minutes, and stopped again.
