Not picking up signal, not recieving calls, Keys not working or the roller bar. Took battery out while power was on, left it 30 mins and after that it stll wouldnt work, Tried the alt, shift and delete, still not working. What is wrong with it?
View 3 Repliesthere are dozen of blackberry curve users having this same problems. but never did i see anyone giving the right solution. is this really a common problem for blackberry 8520? they dont even know how to solve this problem yet WHAT's happening!? removing the battery for 5min and putting it back again DOESNT WORK! upgrading the OS DOESNT WORK! im really getting annoyed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt is under a year old and I've had no problems with it until last week when the 'alt' symbol started to show on the screen and stay there. With a few clicks of the alt key and waiting patiently for up to 10 minutes, the symbol would disappear.
I started to use my alt key less and less in case there was something stuck under the key.
Today I didn't even press the alt key when the 'alt' symbol appeared on the screen and I've been left with a useless phone for the majority of the day. I can't do anything with it and I can't get the 'alt' symbol to go away.
I've removed the battery, waited for a few seconds and then re-inserted the battery, but even when the phone resets, the symbol is still there. It's driving me insane.
I have tried everything, but for the last 4 hours my phone has been stuck on sos. I cannot find my network server when i manually try to select it and ive taken out my battery and sim card and restarted my device!

I've paid my operator for the internet but it feels like I'm wasting my money if I can only use it via wi-fi at the moment.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BlackBerry Curve 8520 got wet a few days ago, it's since been left to dry out with all parts removed on top of my Virgin Media box. I checked for damage today & it appears to be working fine, apart from the fact that it's stuck in alt mode.Any suggestions on how I can get it out of alt mode? The button doesn't appear to be stuck. The 'alt' icon in the corner changes to '123' when I select the left shift button, but when deselected it changes back to alt mode.I've done a few battery pulls, removed all third party applications & re-installed its OS. To be able to type normally with letters I have to either hold down the 'return/back' button, 'X' 'V' or 'B' button, or the '$' button. Whilst holding these I can select whether I want 'alt' or not, but then it returns when I let go anyway

It's a news app and was using it for a month. After the update it asked for a reboot so i clicked on reboot now. It was rebooting normally, and then it got stuck on the Welcome screen (the white screen where it just says BlackberryTM along with the blackberry logo). I tried to reboot it again but it gets stuck on the same screen. I don't know what to do. I've rebooted it many times but each time it gets stuck on that Welcome Screen.I also tried to wait it out hoping it would come but waited for half-anhour and it was still stuck.

Media-Options but audio boost is off and I don't see any other option that would help. The volume keys on the side of the phone do not work anymore for some reason. I even cut the material with a scalpel to see if pressing the actual sensor would allow me to reduce volume. Needless to say it didn't.
I have tried using the keyboard on the phone and the volume control key (also a $ sign) but it didn't help either.

I have had my recent one for just under 3 weeks and I downloaded a theme for it. It was fine for a day or two but all of sudden started getting really slow. I did the battery pop and from then on everytime it loads up none of the buttons works and my Blackberry isn't responding to anything that I do. It is stuck on the home screen but whenever i press a button the screen lights up again but other than that nothing works. it was on this for 4 hours, so i took battery out to restart, when i did turn it back on, it got back to 7% and stopped, i need my phone urgently as i have NO way of contacting anyone - therefore wont be able to go to work, because i cant contact the person who gives me a lift. I cant contact anyone in an emergency. I was expecting an important call which obviously i have missed.
Recently I updated my BBM app, and my phone got stuck in a reboot cycle, I was able to solve that problem when I installed the Desktop Manager, and all was well. However, about a week after I fixed my phone, my regular text messaging started acting up. It first started where I would have one person's entire conversation copied in my main messages. Now it's just getting worse. For instance, I texted my mom, and on my main messaging screen under today, there's are about 15 copies of the same conversation. It does this with EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION I HAVE. Then, it starts to not even show up in my main messaging, and the only way I can receive my texts are if I go through the notifications button. It's not that my texting doesn't work, it's just that all of this is EXTREMELY annoying, and difficult to deal with.

I have a curve 8900 on orange, the problem is; When i turn on the BB, it gets past the initial red light stage and when the OS actually goes to load, it will load to 3/4 of the way along the progress bar and just stop, constant reboots and battery pulls it will stil load to 3/4's and stop. I have tried using the application loader from command prompt as described in some threads on here and using the JLCmder, using the plug in and press next when the red light comes on, this process works untill the aplication loader tells the device to reboot and it loads again, cos it gets stuck 3/4's of the way, the application loader cannot continue and finish, it just sits there constantly trying to connect to the phone.
bb has been stuck on the reset screen and I have no idea what to do... It has never fall or spilled with water... however I downloaded a new application for photos and in general lately was a little bit slow. the bb has stuck on letter E and i have download the desktop manager but it doesn't seem to recognize the device either I have no data back up.

It got past the loading page and got stuck on the Tmobile startup screen. I cannot see my main home screen and pressing any of the buttons does not work either. Yet i can hear text messsages coming to my phone but cannot see them. Before the Tmobile startup screen a message appears saying 'media card inserted.' I took it out and it said 'media card removed.' I have restarted my blackberry by taking the battery out many times now it is not loading to the homepage.
