View 5 RepliesI turned off my blackberry this morning and then removed the battery, replaced the battery and the phone began to reboot. It has been stuck on the screen that says BlackBerry with the loading bar at the bottom about 3/4 of the way loaded for about 45 minutes. I tried rebooting it a few times at first but it kept stopping at the same point in the loading bar, about 3/4 of the way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, my blackberry was freezing up, so I took the battery out to reboot it. I fell asleep with it rebooting on the charger, but when I woke up around eight hours later it still wasn't finished rebooting. The white line was only about 3/4 of the way full and it wasn't moving, so I took the battery out to reboot it again. It was going fine until it reached that spot again, and stopped about 3/4 of the way full. I took the battery out for an extended period of time and tried again, but the same thing happened

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy fiance's phone is having issues, i've been trying to get a backup created and do an os upgrade on the phone to the latest release but I'm having no luck. everytime i hook the phone up to a system (have tried 3 with the same issue) the phone reboots once the drivers are loading on the system for the phone. This continues to happen as the phone is loading up and puts the phone into a loop until i unhook the phone from usb. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas how i could get a backup for the phone to atleast save her contacts and other information, or any idea what i can do to get a new os loaded.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust purchased a used Curve 8530. Previous owner could not remember the password so after going through the process of too many tries and a wipe of the system, the phone now will not boot up. Get an hour glass and then a quick screen flash before it starts the same routine. When I try to connect to Desktop Manager it keeps connecting and dropping so I am unable to reload software.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBecause my first Blackberry Curve 8530 would not go passed the reboot screen, they sent me another one, once I connected it to my Blackberry Desktop Software in order to add my contacts and other backup information, it caused my Blackberry to shut down and now it will not go pass the reboot screen. It will finish, but then it will turn off and the process starts all over again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I took my BlackBerry Curve 2 (8530) off the charger and turned it on this morning, for some reason it reset at the 51% mark during the security software verification. I'm worried that it somehow contracted a virus, or the phone's security software has been compromised. Is there any way to wipe the handset without the phone being powered on 100% (via the keypad or something)? The phone is under 3 months old and should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty - but until I get this fixed, I have no phone to use.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8530 with Boost Mobile. I took the battery out for a min like I do every night to reboot it, put the battery back in and it started to reboot. After bout a min or so it shut down and started rebooting again. It keeps doing it over and over again. I call Boost support and they can't help me, they want to send me a refurbished phone. My phone is only 4 months old. I have never dropped it or gotten it wet. I've tried hooking it up to my computer to wipe it out and reset it or whatever it's called but It won't connect to the computer because before it can reboot all the way it shuts down again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried things on the internet, but no success.I've installed an app and remove from BB which doesn't remove icon. Some say the BB has to be Rebooted to clean up left over things. I find this unusual that a normal user wouldn't know how to uninstall apps properly especially having to reboot.I want to be able to restart (reboot) my BB without pulling the battery.
BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS version 5.0.0.734
For about the past two-three weeks, my Curve 8530 has started randomly rebooting - during calls, not during calls - I have not identified a pattern about when. When it comes back up 5-10 minutes later, the battery was always completely drained. I ordered a new battery and fully charged it. Day one with the new battery was uneventful - no random reboots, no loss of all battery charge after one 15 minute phone call, although the battery was low by the end of the day.
Today is day two with the new battery and I had another random reboot, however, this time at least my battery wasn't drained when it came back up. What causes these random reboots? Is there any way to get them to stop?
I am with Verizon and already did the *228 programming update before the new battery.
was in the middle of updating my blackberry and it came up with a message saying it had failed, so I unplugged my phone and from then onwards it gets stuck on the reboot screen and I cannot use my phone. All that happens is that the white bar at the bottom (the one that shows how much longer the reboot is going to be) , when it gets to the end instead of starting up my phone it just stays like it and nothing happens for a while. Then a white screen comes up and says " app error 200 "
View 1 Replies View Relatedi restarted my phone by alt-shift-del and my phone is now stuck on the reboot screen, the bar under the blackberry logo fully loads, stays like that for 5-10 minutes then restarts and loads all over again, no error message pops up no white screen just the logo and the bar constantly resetting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo earlier I was deleting some lock screen application and my blackberry was rebooting but then it got stuck on the reboot screen. So it reboots fully and then starts again. I've tried to connect it to the desktop manager and that didn't work so I took the battery out and tried the apploader but the app I wanted to delete was already gone but it kept rebooting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I updated my BBM app, and my phone got stuck in a reboot cycle, I was able to solve that problem when I installed the Desktop Manager, and all was well. However, about a week after I fixed my phone, my regular text messaging started acting up. It first started where I would have one person's entire conversation copied in my main messages. Now it's just getting worse. For instance, I texted my mom, and on my main messaging screen under today, there's are about 15 copies of the same conversation. It does this with EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION I HAVE. Then, it starts to not even show up in my main messaging, and the only way I can receive my texts are if I go through the notifications button. It's not that my texting doesn't work, it's just that all of this is EXTREMELY annoying, and difficult to deal with.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when the Blackberry loading page start up and the little status bar reaches full, it takes a few seconds longer to bring me to the home page. Before, it would fill up, then like 2 seconds later the carrier splash page would come up and then my homescreen. Now, it stays on the black Blackberry loading page for at least 10 seconds before the carrier logo comes up. Is this normal? I don't my phone to die on me or something.

View 11 Replies View RelatedBackground: bought a new phone and received it Friday, activated it no problem. Tried using the BDM to "switch devices" and it was LOADS of problems installed the newest one. THOUGHT I finally was able to transfer all the info to my new phone, but here's where the real problem starts Okay, when it starts to reboot, that progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts AGAIN with the little red light, the progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts YET AGAIN and it's been doing this for the last 10 hours! I have removed the battery and media card and EVERYTHING, left it out for like 10 minutes, reinserted the media card and battery and it just keeps doing this. If I try to connect it to the computer, the computer won't recognize it and the BDM says, "Blackberry Desktop Manager cannot communicate with the connected blackberry device. If the device is rebooting or has a dead battery, click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots. Otherwise you might need to update the blackberrry device software to correct the problem"How in the world am i supposed to update the software on the device if i can't stop it from rebooting?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone is on this weird state now that it freezes and nothing happens, not even the little watch comes out and so I have to reboot it. But when I do, I have to use it non stop doing whatever for about 3 hours or so, not being able to leave it alone because if I do, even for a minute it will freeze all over again and the process will start over. But also, sometimes when I reboot it, it doesn't being to reboot. It just stays with the screen shut off and eventually the little red light would turn on and off but nothing else will happen. I left it in that state for about 10 hours and nothing.Right now it has been frozen for almost an hour, Ive had to reboot it about 25times today and I´m beginning to give up and getting scared for my phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am an IT technician, and we use BES at my company. I have been handed a phone by one of my fellow employees exhibiting the dreaded reboot cycle problem. Yes, I know there are lots of other threads on this, but some are dead ends and some just rehash the same old thing. I'm not certain, but I think this may be different and deserve its own thread. I am working with a BlackBerry Curve 8310 stuck in the known reboot loop. Black screen for 5 seconds, white screen with hourglass for 5 seconds, black screen for 5 seconds, rinse/lather/repeat.
I have tried:
01) Using BBSAK to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
02) Using JL_Cmder to wipe the device (without Desktop Manager open or running).
03) Installing the BlackBerry Java Developer Kit and running the wipe variable command on JavaLoader.exe (without Desktop Manager open or running).
04) Deleting vendor.xml and running loader.exe with and without the /nojvm variable from /Program Files/Common Files/etc (without Desktop Manager open or running).
05) Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager to load the newest OS (hey, why not).
06) Tried every combination possible of booting the phone without the battery and inserting it at just the right time, over and over and over again, while all of the processes above attempt to run (BBSAK, JL_Cmder, Loader.exe, etc).
07) Doing all of the above on a Windows XP Professional PC instead of my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 PC.
08) Doing all of the above on a different BlackBerry Curve 8310 without a reboot problem (it works every time; wipe the OS, install the newest one, no issues at all, I'm very familiar with the process).
09) Trying all of the above using a completely different battery.
10) Trying all of the above with the SIM card removed (there is no media card, so no issues there).
As far as all of the documented steps to resolve this known issue, I've tried them all in every which way using every combination I could possibly imagine or invent on the fly, and I've made absolutely, positively no progress whatsoever. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 continues its auto-reboot-5-seconds-into-loading process, and it prevents any of the utilities above to communicate with the phone long enough to establish a handshake before it reboots again. It doesn't seem to matter when I insert the battery at all. The farthest I get is using the loader.exe method (step 04 above). Once it gets to the device initialization step, however, and I insert the battery back in, the reboots simply continue. I am at a loss, and I've done everything that I know to do or that I've learned to do via research on multiple messageboards. Aside from sending teh phone out for repair, what steps are there to take that I have not yet taken to fix this myself? Note that there is no report of the phone being dropped, jarred, or physically mishandled in any way. Nonetheless, could it be that this is not software-related, but hardware-related? What am I missing?
I've been trying to reboot my blackberry curve for almost 2 hours now!
I've read various topics and threads and even tried safe mode to no avail. I'm stuck on the reboot screen with the white progress bar around 70%
I've not loafded any new apps, I was rebooting after dropping the phone - however i've done this many times before and never had this issue.
I've tried hooking up to my laptop but I've never used it to sync or back up before and because the device isn't actually on it wasn't finding it.
My Curve 8900 shut down over the weekend. It won't come back on. It goes off and when I press the power button, the red light comes one, the backlit screen with the hourglass comes on and then it goes off again. A little while later, it starts the cycle over again, backlit blank screen, hourglass spins, bb shuts off.

I have a Curve 8520, and suddenly tonight, I have a read message icon on the home screen that won't go away. I have no emails or messages at all on my phone anymore, and I cleared the messages from the advanced tab thingy on the desktop manager. I've done a battery pull, turned it off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on, and nothing has worked. I even tried sending a text message to my phone from my husband's, and it showed up as 2 messages on the icon, but when I deleted that new text msg, it went back down to 1 read message and is still there.

View 4 Replies View Relatedabout a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and i quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which i did. Before i cleaned it i turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems i need to reinstall the os?
