I just upgraded my 8530 to OS 5, funny thing though, when I'm not at home on my WiFi, I don't receive my emails, the browser doesn't seem to find anything (sticks are "requesting") and the FB app doesn't work.However, when I am away from my WiFi, my Pandora App still streams music from the web, so I'm wondering if there are any settings that may have been reset regarding the internet or data?
View 4 RepliesSo, Ive had my blackberry for a few months now and it was working fine but then earlier today it stopped receiving emails... I have 3 emails linked two hotmail and one Gmail...I have deleted and re added the emails and still nothing the odd email comes through. I'm in the UK have a curve 8250 and my network is Virgin Mobile.
My blackberry has suddenly stopped sending & receiving emails, cannot work out why, have not changed any settings. When I took it in to the T-mobile shop they said I needed to install some updates, which I did, but it still isn't getting or sending any emails!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8530 with 5.0.xx installed. I just set up my IMAP Gmail account on my BB and have noticed a big problem when receiving messages. Basically I get SOME of my mail in my email folder and SOME of it in my MESSAGES folder - just to make this clear both folders receive different messages that should be routing to my email folder. I tried turning off receiving my emails in my MESSAGES folder - but then I'll get a flag stating there is an unread message in my EMAIL folder - but NOTHING'S THERE. So I then go back in to Messages>options>Email settings and click the box to have Messages receive my emails too and VOILA - there's the hidden email!
So to sum this up - I can't get all my emails unless I have Messages set to receive my email as well because it receives some and my email folder receives some when my email folder should be receiving ALL of them.
I found some help in the Blackberry Answers but it describes going into menus that I don't have to reroute the messages to my inbox. So what do I do? Is this common? Is something corrupt? I'd like just to receive ALL my emails in my EMAIL folder.
I have no clue why but it seems that my phone is not receiving any messages unless I turn my WiFi on. I am trying a battery pull now but I have no clue what could randomly cause this problem. I awoke to no messages this morning which is unusual, so I turned on WiFi and within 30 secs had 9 emails.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 8520 is set to receive emails from a pop email server. This email server is a Smartermail type that I access via a web browser so that I do not have to worry about syncing emails across computers. I have numerous filters on the Smartermail to ensure clients mail goes into named inboxes. None of those filtered mails are being sent to the blackberry. I only receive the unfiltered emails. This is clearly no good at all as I am missing pver 75% of my emails. I could of course set the Smartermail to forward ALL messages to the blackberry email address but this would create two problems - duplication of mails on the blackberry and replies from the blackberry inbox would carry the blacberry sender address and not my company one. The other alternative would be to remove all filters on smarter mail but this would create a big housekeeping headache with one enormous mailbox.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems today with my 8520 Curve. I keep receiving a message from donotreply@blackberry.com informing me that my emails are not being delivered to my device. It goes on to tell me to turn on the IMAP setting for all mail on my email account and validate my account. Having checked, my IMAP settings are correct so I re-validated my Bkackberry and, for all intents & purposes the email account is now valid. However, I then shortly receive another message exactly the same from donotreply@blackberry.com. I have gone round this cycle 3-4 times now but am still not receiving emails.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI brought a new Blackberry Curve 8520 recently (PIN No: XXXXXXX) from China from a branded Blackberry Showroom. And OH I almsot forgot Im taking my precious time and the added pain to write this post to get a resolution instead of a diplomatic happy go lucky and irresponsible answer saying that "We are very sorry that feature is yet not available" or "We are sorry to hear that we will do that in near future", I've heard lot of Sorry's and Apologies over this issue, so please don't feel sorry about that if your not really sorry!My problems described step by step:
A) Whenever I receive an email on my Hotmail which is successfully configured on my BB, if there is a filter to sort it into a predefined FOLDER, then BB fails to retrieve that email?
B) Its logical to sort your emails into folders if your getting tons of email and your business relies on that medium of communication?
C) This is a GLOBAL issue faced by every BB user? Oh Yes I already did some research on the BB Support Forums and everywhere else.
D) Since my Blackberry model is 8520 aka. SmartPhone which is an understatement? SmartPhone I mean come on ? Its a Dumb Phone that cant detect Email Folders!
C) I don't want to pile up my other emails by using a solution which youre about to say -> Forward your email to another email address Inbox! Or asking me to upgrade my Hotmail?
D) Gmail works perfectly under this scenario, ie. I also use Gmail thanks to my conscience I can successfully receive all emails even if they are sorted or filtered into Folders!
E) Should we urge to ask Uncle Billy to modify Hotmail so that this work on everyones BB? Sure that would be fun but I think he's too busy!
So, the Answer I can predict with my super powers is -> Either NONE you wont respond at all! or this post might get deleted because of the nature of this issue being over reacted upon or you will say "Sorry we are working on that since our Programmers, Technicians and Engineers goofed up big time, but hopefully we will be able to fix it in the next BB so you should throw this one as soon as a new one arrives and make another Dumb purchase of a Dumb Phone !
The Case:
The customer tried to sync his blackberry with blackberry desktop and few hours later start an amazing number of new emails into one of his POP3 mail accounts.the emails follow this problem http://www.blackberry.com/select/es/support/kb/internet/KB04254_-1.shtml so yes, the customer did install the desktop with BES option and he have BIS. carrier: Movistar - Uruguay Blackberry 8520 @ 4.6 few screens to be clear and help to explain as the previous link says i had:
- Uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop software from pc.
- Deleted all Service Books
- Whipe the phone (also third party apps)
- Deleted the BIS Account
- i did checked if it has the right configuration at admin provisioning site (was right,it had BIS)
- Made a new BIS account
- Added the two customer Email accounts
- Restored the backup of phonebook, calendar, tasks, sms, email. (NO service books restored)
but two hours later, the customer once again get the unstoppable mail, the mails came to his mail box, not just the divice, and is just with one of his accounts. did i do something wrong? what more can i do? any suggestions?
I have an annoyance I wish to get fixed. When I am sending an email through the browser, not the blackberry's integrated email function, after the message is sent, the recipient recieves 10-20 messages. I sent an email to my work boss and he recieved 110 copies of the exact same email. YES, I only hit send once. This occurs with outlook express online, using two different email accounts from two different websites.
I tested this out again just now, and sure enough, I got 12 copies of my test email to my personal account. My phone was telling me I have all 5 connectivity bars when I sent the message.If I were to guess, this would be a connectivity issue or maybe something involving my wireless carrier, but I figured here would be a good place to start

I'm new to blackberry. I purchased a Blackberry Curve 8520 yesterday and I am having some trouble with it.
Problem 1:
New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2:
I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3:
I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
For some reason I am only receiving a portion of my emails on my 8330 blackberry curve. I have had my carrier's support desk (Verizon) walk me through procedures to make sure I am capable of receiving these messages (which I am receiving on my computer, but not all show up on the blackberry).........and now I am hearing from Verizon that I need to contact Blackberry support. Is there a # to call? I don't know where to start. I can see on the Blackberry email setup icon that I have my verizon email address listed there with the correct password (and again, I am receiving some messages, just not all). Am I missing something here?
p.s. Also, I can't tell a difference between the emails that show up and those that do not...it's not like it's all the 'gmail and yahoo' messages that I don't receive, for instance...seems to be random.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter setting up my phone I was recieving e-mails fine however I am no longer recieving any e-mails. It appears that this could be a common problem, being as it is in the troubleshooting in the manual however... I cannot seem to solve it.
I have tried sending service books. Nothing appears to happen as a result of this. I have tried deleting the account from the phone and then adding it again but that doesnt appear to have worked. I didn't recieve an activation message when i re-added it and I don't know if that is important!
I think it may have happened around about when I was solving another problem and I installed the desktop software and backed up and restored all data. I am wondering if some settings got changed somehow as it is since then that I have not recieved any messages.

I was able to send and receive emails for about 3 days, then I suddenly stopped receving emails.I can send email from my outlook address, my Sent Items appear and my Outlook calendar items appear on the blackberry calendar.I'm just not receiving emails through the Inbox.I've contacted my carrier and my IT department at work, but no one can figure out why I'm not getting emails on the Curve.The usual fixes aren't working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe track-pad on my BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 stopped working so Sprint replaced my BlackBerry earlier today and I haven't received an email yet on my new BlackBerry. Email setup brings me to the screen where I, "Move Email Accounts", and after I click it, it says that the device change was successful and prompts me to enter my password. After doing so, it takes me to a screen to synchronize my contacts and when I click that, it says, "Activation failed. An error was encountered when sending the activation transmission." I REALLY don't feel like running down to Sprint again and asking them to configure the email for me. I need my emails.

I have 5 different email addresses that go to my phone and the only ones that are giving me problems are my 2 Outlook emails. I am able to send messages from them, but am not able to receive any. I had a problem with my e-mails I stopped receiving messages on Friday and since talking to the service centre I now have 2 icons on my main screen. The new one has a globe at the bottom and my email address at the top when I scroll over it. All very nice but totally unnecessary.
Since this icon has appeared all my emails on my main computer are being marked as read. They were not before Friday Any ideas??
