BB (RIM) :: Sending / Receiving Emails Through WiFi Connection?
Feb 25, 2010
I'm wondering if I have my WiFi turned on while at home and I have full signal does the unit use data when receiving emails and sending emails or does it go through the WiFi connections? What about BBM?
I have no clue why but it seems that my phone is not receiving any messages unless I turn my WiFi on. I am trying a battery pull now but I have no clue what could randomly cause this problem. I awoke to no messages this morning which is unusual, so I turned on WiFi and within 30 secs had 9 emails.
My bb tour 9630 won't send or receive emails and bbm. The phone sill works. Services Status tells me I am not connected but I can't connect. It stopped working yesterday.
My blackberry has suddenly stopped sending & receiving emails, cannot work out why, have not changed any settings. When I took it in to the T-mobile shop they said I needed to install some updates, which I did, but it still isn't getting or sending any emails!
It has been working fine, but has stopped automatically sending or receiving emails. I have taken out the sim card and hard rebooted, I have resent the service books, but it still isn't working.
I travel overseas a lot and it will be very costly if my blackberry receives emails automatically for some of my messages contains technical drawings and graphics. How do I manually send and receive email on my Torch 9800?
My BB torch 9810 is not sending/receiving any emails or BBM messages if the BES Icon beside signal disappears, when it's there it works fine I tried everything, I called the service provider, restored, formatted, took the battery out and put it back, changed the SIM card ... Unfortunately nothing worked.. What shall I do?
I am new to this forum and would like to thank you for any help in advance. My problem is that my BB Storm has stopped receiving and sending emails. I worked perfectly. I have recently added an couple of new addresses, they were working very well to, but now nothing.
I have suddenly stopped receiving my emails to my blackberry torch 9880. I also cannot send. I've researched on the net and I've done power off and also battery pull. I've tried going into the setup and email settings but it will not let me check my settings.
So I noticed that when I send an email through Exchange. I end up sending anywhere between 3 and 15 emails. and also get a "message not sent" display at the notifcation bar. My other incoming emails (except gmail) I get between 10 and 20 copies of emails coming in. I have tried restarting, reinitializing the email clients. etc with no avail.
'm having a weird issue happening in our Blackberry environment. Several of our users are reporting that when they leave for the day, their email do not populate until they return to the office the next morning. What I've gathered so far is, it seems like the device doesn't know when to switch back to 3G when the Wi-Fi connection we have here at work drops. In other words, the phone stops sending/receiving email because it no longer has a Wi-Fi connection but it never switches back to 3G. If I turn off the Wi-Fi on the problematic devices, they never have any of the problems mentioned above - but the uppers do not like that solution.
My Blackberry 8520 will not access data unless it's connected to Wi-Fi. Even then it will not send MMS messages. I have a Blackberry data plan and am in accessible areas, so something must be wrong.
I just upgraded my 8530 to OS 5, funny thing though, when I'm not at home on my WiFi, I don't receive my emails, the browser doesn't seem to find anything (sticks are "requesting") and the FB app doesn't work. However, when I am away from my WiFi, my Pandora App still streams music from the web, so I'm wondering if there are any settings that may have been reset regarding the internet or data?
I'm connected to the Wifi but I am not receiving emails, snapchats, skype messages while I'm on the house Wifi. The second I turn off wifi or connect to 4G, I get ALL the messages/etc from the the last several hours.
My wife is on a school trip to the US. Meanwhile, I am at home in Canada. I am texting her, but I found it odd she never replies and vice versa. So, she discovered that her iPhone (latest iOS 5 release) keeps trying to send the message as an iMessage. It is not reverting to SMS after a given time, as it should and as I have seen it do before. I have tried it now also and my wife only receives my messages when she has a wifi connection (she does not have data roaming enabled). It seems like my iPhone too continously tries to send the message as an iMessage and it does not switch to SMS after a certain timeout time. The message that the iPhone continously tries to send as an iMessage never fails, however the status does not change until the next time my wife is in wifi coverage and the message is delivered.
10 days ago, I downloaded the update of the BBM, as I was notified by App World. Since I updated the BBM I can not send or receive messages, this update is a disaster, Due to the fact that I'm traveling, I do not have the roaming services and have been using BB services via WIFI and Now I canīt connect to the BBM at all.I need help because I am very upset with this update. My Blackberry is the CURVE 9300.I have uninstalled the BBM and then re installed it, but it still does not work After reading the comments on this update I realized that everyone is complaining.
and it is draining my battery! My phone is just sitting beside me, not receiving any emails or texts and it isn't loading an internet page, so I don't know what it is doing. My battery is dying before 11:00 AM which shouldn't happen.
My husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and usually, BBM works just fine. Recently, though, it can take up to an hour for my message to be delivered to him and vice versa. check mark will show up but no "d" He said he has service, enough so he can text and say BBM isn't working We have Verizon and both of us have Storm2. i was wondering if there was anything we could do to fix it or if our conversations would just have to take a few hours.
A friend in Thailand is trying to use iMessage with an iPad, the iMessage has been working OK up to 2 weeks ago but now it will neither send or receive iMessage. She has: signed out and back in to iMessage checked that the email address is correctly registered turned iCloud off and back on Done a hard reset of the device Has the latest ios installed. iMessages sent to her phone show as 'sent' but no longer as delivered.
Whenever I send out a text message as one comes in, my text will error. I get the option to send again, and their text comes in without any issues. This has been happening since I upgraded to the iPhone 4S from my 3GS. This happens with both iMessage turned on or off. I am on 5.1.
Everytime I go to use my iPhone 4 to send a picture, or have someone send me one, it doens't work. It shows a little exclimation mark, and if I want it to work I have to completely reset my network settings, which is a constant pain, considering my internet WEP key is 26 digits long. Is there something wrong with my phone, or is it the phone company I'm with?
Under messaging under settings, imessage is on..and it shows my phone number under recieve at....but when i text someone that has a iphone it goes thru as a imessage, when i text my boyfriend who also has iphone..it goes to regular texting...but when he replies back to me it goes imessage but with his apple id. How can i fix it to where only his phone number is imessage? is it his settings on his phone or mine? Under contacts i have to have two of him in my phone one for texting and the other for making a phone call.
