I got my blackberry 9780 last february, i enjoyed using almost all its features but recently i got trouble using it since it cant detect signal and always SOS even if the network im with has good signal.

I've change to another battery also but still not working.Plan to re-install the OS but when connect to pc, my windows dont even detect the bb.
I have changed my phone to a blackberry bold 9000, and I have upgrade my plan to a 3gb BIS and it has already been activated. However, my phone is unable to detect the BIS at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a blackberry 9000 device that I cant seem to reload. My computer (2 of them) have not been able to detect it through Desktop manager 4.6. Some things I've tried were detecting it with Javaloader's USB wipe, but that didn't work as it would not detect. I've tried two separate batteries, still to no avail.
It seems for some reason this blackberry cannot be detected. The device is relatively new, not used for more than a month. I'd love to get this issue resolved with some help.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
Anybody else having this problem?
What do these Icons represent or mean, and the meaning when they change Colors from White to Blue (Status Icons). There was a GB 2.3.4 User Manual Posted on Moto's site, Unfortunately no information was included about these Items. What does it mean when all three are blue, Including the H+ icon having arrows beneath it at the same time? T-mobile asked me to send the phone back but there is a major scratch on the screen so they told me my return warranty was void now.So far I have a $400 paper weight. Anyone fix this issue?

I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo for the past couple of days I have been getting SOS where I would normally just have one or two bars. At home it switches from 3G to 3g to EDGE to SOS. It has always switched from 3g to edge and back and forth but almost never see SOS until recently. Then of course at work I'm getting SOS in the mens room where I would normally have again just week signal. I called my carrier and they said there has been cell tower work going on for the past few days and it should end tonight by end of business. I'm a little suspicious since they are supposed to be done by EOB on the same day that I happened to call in about it. I checked with some iphone users in my area and they have not been getting sos. I'm just wondering what you folks think. Does this sound like a probably explanation or should I call back and push a little harder?

Customer care fixes it until I get an app update and the phone has to reboot, it goes haywire again. Startin to annoy me, as I'm txtn ryt nw the bis signal has dropped.

It does connect to the wifi, and all other functions seem to be working okay. I tried with different SIM cards with different providers with the same result. These SIM cards are working fine with other handsets.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy colleague and I both have Bold 9900's, one on Vodaphone and the other T-Mobile. Both of seem to be experiencing similar problems with the signal reception at different times and places. Whilst at home I can have a great signal of 3 or 4 bars but without moving the phone it will suddenly fluctuate and more often than not it will drop to zero and give the SOS display. I can then wait varying amounts of time for the signal to pick up again. I have the same problem in my office and in other areas so I am sure it's not the signal. My colleague has very similar problems and sometimes the signal does not recover in adequate time to make a call or send a message so we have to remove the battery before the phone signal recovers. I have also tested my wifes Blackberry Curve alongside mine and it is fine.

Options--> Status.
In 3G, the highest value is -70dB regardless how good the signal is.
In 2G, the highest value seems to be -55dB.
How can you make the 3G status to be as accurate as the 2G status, as in, to display numbers above -70dB...
I bought a BB 9780 unlocked last month I was going to call and the screen displayed "No service currently available". So I restarted my phone, my signal bar went into "SOS" and I haven't been able to make it have signal strength again.

I go back in to full signal and I never get them until I ask the person to send another sms, at which point I get all the backlogged ones from that person. I still am waiting to receive sms from a friend who sent it over a week ago.

Since Monday, I have been experiencing problems with my data coverage at work. Some of my BBM's to friends are delayed, I can't get a net connection to use any apps (Facebook, Twitter, Shazam, App World) etc. My 'phone' signal as it were is fine. I receive texts and calls on time no problem.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, and how to fix it? It was fine up until Monday and I havent changed any settings or changed OS's. My data connection is fine everywhere else.I have also noticed, possibly becuase my phone is trying to receive a data signal that my battery is being drained by about 10% an hour.
The wierdest things had happen to my blackberry.Before I go on, it involved 2 simcard.
Simcard A : simcard with BBM and full data service is registered to (Indonesian network)
Simcard B : without BBM registration, etc. (Indonesian network)
This is how it started. I have brought my phone from Indonesia to China. As I tried to use my BBM, it wont work. I tried switching on WIFI but all I got is the dull grey wifi icon. I tried so many setting but it would not work. Remember, I am using simcard A.Now, I pull out simcard A and put simcard B on. I dont know what happen, I start receiving BBM messages. I was so afraid of getting charge for data roaming, I quickly switch connection prefference to 'wifi only' with my WIFI connection on. At the home screen, next to the small antenna icon, it says 'OFF' so i assumed mobile signal is OFF. To my supprise, my BBM is still receiving messages and I can reply them no problem. Again I assumed it was connected through WIFI. What is so weird is, while i was chatting away with WIFI ON (still dull grey icon) and mobile signal OFF, I suddenly receive a phone call.
Can anyone tell me what is going on with my Blackberry? Am I being charge for data roaming while I was chatting away or I was just receiving and sending data through WIFI? but why the calls came in with mobile signal OFF?
I have a problem with my phone. I only get 2 or 3 bars in my house and at work at the most. When I plug my phone in to charge it everything is fine until about 90 percent charged. After that for all intents and purposes I lose signal completely. Sometimes it will just show no bars, most other times it will got into searching for CDMA and then no service. It does not change when the battery is fully charged either. The only thing that fixes it is unplugging the device. It doesn't matter what outlet its plugged into. Ive also tried it at work and home and I get the same results. It does not do it if its plugged into the computer charging on USB, but it does charge a lot slower.
