View 2 RepliesI have been having issues for the last month or so with my 9700. When I get home none of my internet heavy apps or the browser work. Its not every day. Just intermittently. After multiple calls to T-Mo and verification that there were NO issues in my area (a full 3G area) they finally sent me a replacement 9700. I've had it a week and no problems...until today. Same issue. If I put my phone on 2G it seems to work ok if its on 3G/2G it won't connect to the internet at all.Anyone out there know why this could be happening? I had me first 9700 since November with zero internet connectivity issues.
I sold my at&t bold 9700 and bought a t-mobile version, unlocked it and am using it on at&t and I don't have to pay the ridiculous price of 30 per month for internet service on my phone. really I only need the phone for texting, phone calls listening to music and taking some pictures anywayz. Till phone carriers lower their prices. I will never pay 30 a month for smart phone internet again.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded my phone to the Blackberry 9700 (my first BB so I'm completely clueless) and received it yesterday.I also changed my plan to allow internet access.
I registered my phone and was told to turn it off for 2 hours so they can update the sim and everything, which I did. I then turned it on and I can make calls, send texts and all of that, but when I try to access the internet it says 'This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again'? I'm taking a guess here, but I think this may be because they haven't updated my plan yet?
Also, I went on the browser whilst connected to Wi-Fi, tried to download the app world and it said something along the lines of 'Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements require'. What's going on?
Anyone know why I can't go on FaceBook or on the internet at all when the wi-fi is on? It connects to my home wi-fi connection but I can't go on the net.It tells me i need the data plan.I thought wi-fi would give me internet on my phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen connecting to the internet I click on the second last icon on the main Bold screen (Telstra icon). After approximately 20 seconds, the blue "loading" bar at the bottom of the screen reaches 100% but remains sitting at "loading" with a blank white screen. There is no error message, and remains in this mode until I press the end / hang up key to return to the main screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I write to you after several weeks of frustration with my phone as well as a million calls with Rogers customer support.
My problem :
1)I cannot browse the internet using the internet browser both on wifi or Roger's data network
2)Facebook app cannot establish a connection to the server
3)When I use the Browser app it will work for like 10 minutes but then all of sudden the internet just stops working.
I believe all of the three observations listed above have the same root cause. What is odd is that BBM works, my email works, BB app world works, I can even browse with the web2go browser - just not the three items I have described above.I really don't want to restore my phone because i have paid apps and i don't want to pay for my apps again.
My failed troubleshooting attempts so far :
1) Removed battery and sim card + reboot. Done it 1,000,000 times - no success
2) Resend service books - no success
I am at ends with the situation.
whenever I try to go on internet my 9700 says not enough memory even my we to go.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this might sound weird, but... I realize that I am addicted to the internet and spend too much time on it, and want to purposefully restrict myself by NOT being able to access the internet at all on my Blackberry Bold 9700.I don't have a data plan, but I log onto my landlord's WiFi using the password he gave me. Therefore, I have internet access through WiFi, but I would like to either get rid of that ability altogether, or find a way to password-protect the browsers (the regular browser and Opera).

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've just bought the 9700 Bold today, and its great but i cannot seem to connect to the internet.. i press browser and try and get on the internet and it says 'This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again.'
I would love some feedback.. By the way i dont have any Wi-Fi, i want to use 3G.. there is a 3G symbol in the top right so it should fail connecting to Wi-Fi and go 3G?
My blackberry applications can't connect to the internet.I have a blackberry 9700 and a data plan.
My browser works.i have tryed reloading os, battery pulls, registering to network, resending service books.i also called t-mobile and they sent me a new phone because none of their people could help me. I am still having the same problems with new phone
Is it me, or BIS service for blackberry 9700 that makes surfing to the internet so slow?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got my Bold 9700 a few days ago, so I'm still new to the whole blackberry thing. For whatever reason my phone hasn't been able to connect to the internet all day. The weather eye app just hangs for minutes when selected. The score mobile app just says no data available, connection method BIS. Has this happened to anyone else? Are there some settings I should try changing? Should I call my carrier for help? Is this just some temporary outage?
View 7 Replies View RelatedA bit of a newbie here..Is it possible to use a Bluetooth connection to my laptop in order to utilize the hardwired access internet to my laptop. I am NOT looking to use BB as a modem for my laptop.
I'm currently travelling and it is cheaper to use a local '3' 3G dongle for my laptop rather than my phone. I was wondering what the easiest way to get my blackberry to connect to the internet using my netbooks (win xp) connection? I would like to use BB Messenger for free. There doesn't seem to be a easy way to do it, I've tried Bluetooth and ICS but with no luck.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been using the bold 9700 for a few months now and love it. My brother decided to buy the same phone yesterday, in the new white color. He hasn't been able to download anything, such as app world. We also discovered that there is no internet browser besides web2go. When I tried to change his default browser to simply "internet browser", that was not an option; it was only web2go or hotspot browser. T-mobile is closed today b/c of holiday, so hopefully someone here can help me! Does anyone have any insight?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIs anybody else having this problem? I'm trying to log into BIS Internet service for att, and it wont let me login, it keeps saying processing please wait, and then says my password or log-in info is wrong, when its not.
View 9 Replies View RelatedCurrently using the Blackberry 9700. Got it a week ago on a 3-year contract. and have had no major issues until today. For the past 12-24 hours, I have been unable to access anything that uses the Blackberry internet service (BBM, MSN, Facebook and Internet Browser included). I went into "Manage Connections", then "Services Status" and discovered this:
BlackBerry Internet Service
Connection: Not Connected
I'd assume it isn't supposed to be like that; I've tried restarting the device several times to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
I have blackberry service on my account - I am able to access the internet but my cannot connect to blackberry internet service so I can use facebook add on, instant messenger and personal email.I have been through all settings with my service provider. Host route, manual re-setting phone, installing updated software - absolutely everything. They have even sent me two new phones, but still no joy.
Upon accessing the mobileemail.vodafone.net site, when i enter my IMEI and pin it states my account is de-activated or suspended - upon browsing the web this usually happens with phones bought from ebay/stolen phones. Note-This is a brand new handset, direct from Vodafone. My account is fine, Vodafone can see no problem and have now told me they are out of answers.
On my old phone I could access the net on my PAYG sim card but now cant with new Bold 9700.Any ideas

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can get online but I can't click on anything. I get the arrow or hand but when I hit the tracker button nothing happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've called t-mobile support twice, and they confirmed that I have a data plan and don't know why I am getting this message when I try to access the internet. A colleague had this problem, and it was fixed by "reprovisioning" the blackberry. I had them try this but it did not work. Any idea why this is happening? I have business enterprise server, but it is not set up yet - could that be causing the problem?
