View 14 RepliesI sold my at&t bold 9700 and bought a t-mobile version, unlocked it and am using it on at&t and I don't have to pay the ridiculous price of 30 per month for internet service on my phone. really I only need the phone for texting, phone calls listening to music and taking some pictures anywayz. Till phone carriers lower their prices. I will never pay 30 a month for smart phone internet again.
View 10 Replies View RelatedCurrently using the Blackberry 9700. Got it a week ago on a 3-year contract. and have had no major issues until today. For the past 12-24 hours, I have been unable to access anything that uses the Blackberry internet service (BBM, MSN, Facebook and Internet Browser included). I went into "Manage Connections", then "Services Status" and discovered this:
BlackBerry Internet Service
Connection: Not Connected
I'd assume it isn't supposed to be like that; I've tried restarting the device several times to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
I have blackberry service on my account - I am able to access the internet but my cannot connect to blackberry internet service so I can use facebook add on, instant messenger and personal email.I have been through all settings with my service provider. Host route, manual re-setting phone, installing updated software - absolutely everything. They have even sent me two new phones, but still no joy.
Upon accessing the mobileemail.vodafone.net site, when i enter my IMEI and pin it states my account is de-activated or suspended - upon browsing the web this usually happens with phones bought from ebay/stolen phones. Note-This is a brand new handset, direct from Vodafone. My account is fine, Vodafone can see no problem and have now told me they are out of answers.
Since 2 days ago my blackberry (BIS) isnt working anymore, edge s in small letters cant send or recieve bbm or mail messages calling my carrier didnt help and al the usual stuff as battery pull, reinstall os didnt work
View 12 Replies View RelatedThis is my 1st BlackBerry. I've been given a Bold 9700 & I'm over the moon with it's basic features. I've simply transferred the PAYG SIM card out of my previous phone - a Sony Ericsson w302, where most things worked as expected. Regards the BB's other features, I was quite surprised to find personal email impossible to set up & internet to be totally WiFi Dependant. In addition, many apps (eg, msn, facebook, google maps, etc) don't work due to there being no data connection, even whilst using WiFi.
Expecting the need to upgrade to a 3g SIM card, I called orange & was told that I'd need to pay £5/mth for email & 250MB data. I consider this quite objectionable - is that really the deal & will it solve my problems? If that's the best orange can do, what experience have you guys had with other UK carriers on PAYG.
I just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
I got my torch 9800 on launch day. i loved this device and definately felt like i was upgrading from my old device (iphone 3g). as much as i love the capabilities of the device i have run into a few issues, specifically network issues. it all started on sunday when all of a sudden i lost connection to the blackberry servers(the little logo in the corner was gone..) i went to at&t on monday and they could not figure it out. apparently my service book for the blackberry internet service got deleted(i didnt even know what a servicebook was lol) so i went home later that night and downnloaded the at&t software and reinstalled the os and this worked. then all of a sudden today, my fb was acting up, so i deleted the app. then i lost the connection again... do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? im currently reinstalling the os as i write this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWith my first BB 9900 I would download music etc from the internet using 3G and it would literally take seconds. Now, with my second BB 9900, I have full 3G signal but the download is super slow and never finishes downloading, it just says error. I've cleared my cache history and rebooted tons of times.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the big crash last week, although my email, messaging etc has been restored, my Internet browser is incredibly slow. It loads evcentually, but it is very time consuming and inefficient. Messaging is fine - general phone connectivity is ok as well. It isn't the network connection as I have been all over the place in the last few days and it has beenb the same wherever I am. It isn't my home internet as my PC and husband's phone (non BB) is browsing the Net without issue.I've cleared my history, cookies, cache, changed my browsing settings to untick images etc to try and speed things up but it is no better. Oddly the Facebook and Twitter Apps seem to be ok, but the actual browser facility seems to be defunct. I've done the soft reset, and even powered off and removed the battery over night.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 9780, my internet works perfectly however on attempting to download files it begins downloading but very slowly and an error message comes up saying download failed. This has only been happening recently and prior to this I was able to download large files with no hassle.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmaybe its just me, but when i try and charge my 9700 with a usb charger its slooooooooooowwwwwwww. like almost worthless. it would seriously take hours to get it charged.
is that just me? it doesnt matter if its plugged into a cigarette plug adapter, or right into my computer...
these are the same cords that charged my 8310 beautifully.
my wall charger charges it nice and quickly.
i have a bold 9900 and it seems nearly every bbm stops working. i can still use it through WIFI but it says not connected when not connected to WIFI. i can not get on facebook at all even with WIFI. usually when this happens it starts working again but its been down for over 24hrs now.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just switched to a 9900 and I'm having problems with data services. BBM and email works fine, but no other application requiring Internet service does (including application world). I already re-register the headset, got a service book sent and tried several hard reboots, and even reset it to factory settings but nothing seems to fix it. I already contacted my carrier and said that everything should be working fine as I do have internet/data services provisioned.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've not had a problem with my Bold, until last night. The BB Internet Connection turned off, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it 'on' again. I wasn't doing anything unusual, other than sending an email. And it just quit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is a bug between BIS and Office365 and Exchange Online that causes the email record ID to get corrupted when using IMAP to retrieve your mail. The cause is old email messages will be pushed out to your BlackBerry. Not sure it the problem is on RIM's side or Microsoft's side as other IMAP clients work with both products.New BlackBerry smartphone phones automatically connect to the IMAP service when setting up Internet email so there is no option to use POP.So the only reliable method to get email from Office365 or Exchange Online is to use the Outlook Web Access (OWA) service. Alternatively, you could also use BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) or an ActiveSync client like AstroSync for full email/contacts/calendar support. To get Outlook Web Access (OWA) working use the following settings:[URL] Outlook choose OptionsThen select Settings for POP, IMAP, and SMTP accessLook under the Server name for POP, IMAP or SMTP accessPOP settingServer name: podXXXXX.outlook.com (XXXXX will show your actually POD number)That's the setting you can use for Outlook Web Access (OWA) in the following format:[URL] is [URL] (domain name is your email's domain name)Mailbox is firstname.lastname

I do have a data plan that works with BIS. Before this i used this sim with an Android phone, hat worked just fine. And I have tried this sim on an Curve 8320, and on this one works just fine.I use a prepay card from Vodafone DE.I called the customer service from Vodafone and they've told me that it takes 3 days to activate this service (even though it worked on the 8320 imediatly). The 3 days have past, and nothing.A guy from a Vodafone shop in Germany, told me that the phone has been pre-registered before by someone else, and that I should contact Blackberry Support, but this guy didn't seem to know what is talking about.
My black berry internet service is not working. i am on a vodafone contract and i do have blackberry plan in my contract so it should work but it keeps saying it is not connected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a new BB bold. When my device shuts down, it takes ages to re-start the device. Literally speaking it takes around 7-8 minutes to have it started. Sometimes on/off button do not even react, I have to press multiple times and hold for a long time as well.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Class 2 16gb microSD card and my 9700 is running slow. Is the 16 too big or is it because of the Class 2? The decrease in performance is not worth the extra space compared to the 2GB that came with the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing slow download speeds (from over 100Kb/s to 6Kb/s) I've cleared cache, and upgraded my OS, from OS 5 to OS 6. I've also called customer care and went to a local vodashop, which is when I was told to upgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having duplicate contacts, so i have performed the "rset"command to delete the duplicates and re-sync contacts with server.since then my bb is running too slow and freezes.when I go to mobile network options -> turn "data services" OFF my BB works fine but when i turned "data services" ON it works very slow and battery drains in period of 4 hours.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9900, and have already setup an account with my carrier in regards to the BIS account/email (stc.blackberry.com) in my case. It was setup through the email client on the bold and not through the website (stc.blackberry.com).verytime i try to login it says username/password is incorrect, though i am sure it is correct. I had previously tried to create the account through the website, but an error of "Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access BlackBerry Internet Service". That error occurs even if i use the Bold 9900 browser or and other browser for that matter. The email account sends an recieves emails, but i cannot access the settings via the website on the phone or pc.

So, I've had my Bold 9700 for one week exactly. It's my first BB ever. I love it. Very fast and slick.I'm on T-mobile UK and the email address I can create within my BIS login (ending in @instantemail.t-mobile.co.uk) is generally very fast. A new message will reach my phone in 10 seconds or less.
However, my Virgin mail account appears to be less solid, with emails arriving in 10-30 minutes. Is there anything I can do about this? Can I contact my Virgin (my home ISP) about it and can they do anything? I know I can forward mail from that address to the fast email address, but I find this complicating.
Got my new Bold 9700 and love love love it....the only problem is that my browser is super slow....even loading google can take up to a minute! I've noticed my wireless isn't that great either...gets better if I turn bluetooth off but not by much?
