Since 2 days ago my blackberry (BIS) isnt working anymore, edge s in small letters cant send or recieve bbm or mail messages calling my carrier didnt help and al the usual stuff as battery pull, reinstall os didnt work

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot about people that have problems and in alot of these case a battery pull is a possible recommended fix.My 9700 runs fine.
The question I have is should I still pull it once in a while (i.e. once a month or so) even though I don't have any problems? Can I go months or years without pulling it if I have no problems?
Is pulling like rebooting your computer and it should be done once in a while whether needed or not?Are there those who pull it regularily just ot keep these BB in shape so to speak?
Sure both restarts the OS, but are they the same in terms of ability to fix problems or mode of operation. Perhaps a battery pull is a 'full shutdown' so to speak but alt-caps-del is not? Or is there really no difference at all?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find this exact problem, so bear with me if I missed it. My problem is that when I did a bettery pull a couple of days ago, my 9700 went into constant reboot. I was able to correct this by connecting to DM and reloading the OS (.714). This was the same OS I was previously using. Now, when I do a BP, the progress bar goes all the way to the end and it just freezes. I have to pull the battery again, and reload the same 714 OS from DM. No help from TMO online help, so I thought I would ask here.
View 12 Replies View Relatedi've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a Blackberry 9700 (onyx) user. I have few problems that I would like to share. Please help me solving them if you happen to know the solutions.
1. Once every 4 or 5 days, my 9700 always gets frozen. Does it happen because I never reboot it?
2. And, everytime I do reboot or battery pull, the recently added contact details are erased from my contact list. But, recent SMS, emails, or BBM conversation are not erased at all.
3. When I open the contact list, it only shows one contact name (it seems like all other contact names are erased). Then, when I type any alphabet key, the contact list appears. But, still the recently added contact details (mentioned on problem 2 above) are missing.
Is it because I never update my platform version? I'm currently using version 5.1.0.91 and the BBM is the 5.0.0.330 version.
I was getting drops out on calls with 862 so I decided to back to 714 and as usual I dont back up my data as it always does it automatically during the downgrade or upgrade process.This time, I had my email accounts restored but not the actual emails. My contacts have been lost, but the apps and themes are still there.
So I tried restoring my contacts from a backup that I took on the 27th of August but here is the message I get when I try to do the Restoration was an error restoring.There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the dvice is turned on and connected.I tried restarting my computer and doing a battery pull but no luck and it is the same cable and port I always use...
This morning, out of no where my blackberry started to act strange. if i push on the end button (the red one) it calls some one or if i push on the letter m, it starts typing m like a million times and now it has locked it self and i can't put in my password because the keys don't work.. what can i do? i took the battery out and left it resting for a few but if i can't put in my password how can i get to the phone and try to fix it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've come to dread restarting my phone (after deleting an app, to free up space). Every time I pull the battery, it's like playing russian roulette with my phone. When it restarts, it goes back to that original wallpaper that my bb bold2 had, and then the trackpad won't work. Even if I click down once to activate the trackpad, nothing moves on my screen. It almost always ends with me having to do a second battery pull, which is really nerve-wracking. It's like there's some sort of SEVERE lag going on. And if it does begin to work after a battery pull, it takes like 6 minutes to begin working.

Till phone carriers lower their prices. I will never pay 30 a month for smart phone internet again.

Got it a week ago on a 3-year contract. and have had no major issues until today.For the past 12-24 hours, I have been unable to access anything that uses the Blackberry internet service (BBM, MSN, Facebook and Internet Browser included). I went into "Manage Connections", then "Services Status" and discovered this:

I'd assume it isn't supposed to be like that; I've tried restarting the device several times to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
I have blackberry service on my account - I am able to access the internet but my cannot connect to blackberry internet service so I can use facebook add on, instant messenger and personal email.I have been through all settings with my service provider. Host route, manual re-setting phone, installing updated software - absolutely everything. They have even sent me two new phones, but still no joy.
Upon accessing the mobileemail.vodafone.net site, when i enter my IMEI and pin it states my account is de-activated or suspended - upon browsing the web this usually happens with phones bought from ebay/stolen phones. Note-This is a brand new handset, direct from Vodafone.My account is fine, Vodafone can see no problem and have now told me they are out of answers.
This is my 1st BlackBerry. I've been given a Bold 9700 & I'm over the moon with it's basic features. I've simply transferred the PAYG SIM card out of my previous phone - a Sony Ericsson w302, where most things worked as expected. Regards the BB's other features, I was quite surprised to find personal email impossible to set up & internet to be totally WiFi Dependant. In addition, many apps (eg, msn, facebook, google maps, etc) don't work due to there being no data connection, even whilst using WiFi.
Expecting the need to upgrade to a 3g SIM card, I called orange & was told that I'd need to pay £5/mth for email & 250MB data. I consider this quite objectionable - is that really the deal & will it solve my problems? If that's the best orange can do, what experience have you guys had with other UK carriers on PAYG.
I just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
My internet service is not working @ all only BBM and facebook is work.

I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I write to you after several weeks of frustration with my phone as well as a million calls with Rogers customer support.
My problem :
1)I cannot browse the internet using the internet browser both on wifi or Roger's data network
2)Facebook app cannot establish a connection to the server
3)When I use the Browser app it will work for like 10 minutes but then all of sudden the internet just stops working.
I believe all of the three observations listed above have the same root cause. What is odd is that BBM works, my email works, BB app world works, I can even browse with the web2go browser - just not the three items I have described above.I really don't want to restore my phone because i have paid apps and i don't want to pay for my apps again.
My failed troubleshooting attempts so far :
1) Removed battery and sim card + reboot. Done it 1,000,000 times - no success
2) Resend service books - no success
I am at ends with the situation.
i have a 9700 unlocked Rogers phone on Tmobile now, I have the 50$ plan plus 10 BIS service, I came home to Canada and turned my phone on wifi and turned of the mobile network so i dont use all my minutes, I have been here since Friday june 24 and my phone has been working fine. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to v5.0.0.411 and have had almost no problems so far. One problem I have had though is whenever I do a battery pull my battery instantly says it's drained upon starting back up. Today it went from 50% to 15% after one pull. I know it is a false reading because recently it went from around 50% to 3%(the yellow low battery light was flashing when I turned it back on as well), however, I was able to use the phone for hours after this and it remained at 3%. From what I've read I'm thinking this might be a problem with the battery or battery contacts? But it's strange that it started happening as soon as I upgraded my OS to 5.0. Any suggestions or info?

Whenever I do a battery pull my battery indication after reinsertion reads 0% and shows the battery as red. My battery indicator before the battery pull will read anywhere from 80% to 50% but after the battery pull the indicator changes to read zero and is shown in red. If I don't charge the phone it will die even though prior to the battery pull the charge was fine at 80% or so...
I'm pulling the battery because of memory shortages. I HAVE replaced the battery and I still get the same problem. Pulling the battery after this happens changes nothing. I've pulled the battery numerous times afterwards and I never get the battery indicator to read what it did before the battery pull. I don't dare pull the battery if I'm not near my charger as the phone will die in a matter of minutes...
I started having problems with my BBM yesterday. My online browser is working fine, but when I try to send a message thru BBM I get the little red clock icon that shows. I've tried the battery pull and that still does not resolve the issue. Any suggestions?
