I just got my Bold 9700 a few days ago, so I'm still new to the whole blackberry thing. For whatever reason my phone hasn't been able to connect to the internet all day. The weather eye app just hangs for minutes when selected. The score mobile app just says no data available, connection method BIS. Has this happened to anyone else? Are there some settings I should try changing? Should I call my carrier for help? Is this just some temporary outage?
I have been having issues for the last month or so with my 9700. When I get home none of my internet heavy apps or the browser work. Its not every day. Just intermittently. After multiple calls to T-Mo and verification that there were NO issues in my area (a full 3G area) they finally sent me a replacement 9700. I've had it a week and no problems...until today. Same issue. If I put my phone on 2G it seems to work ok if its on 3G/2G it won't connect to the internet at all.Anyone out there know why this could be happening? I had me first 9700 since November with zero internet connectivity issues.
i've just bought the 9700 Bold today, and its great but i cannot seem to connect to the internet.. i press browser and try and get on the internet and it says 'This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again.'
I would love some feedback.. By the way i dont have any Wi-Fi, i want to use 3G.. there is a 3G symbol in the top right so it should fail connecting to Wi-Fi and go 3G?
I have blackberry service on my account - I am able to access the internet but my cannot connect to blackberry internet service so I can use facebook add on, instant messenger and personal email.I have been through all settings with my service provider. Host route, manual re-setting phone, installing updated software - absolutely everything. They have even sent me two new phones, but still no joy.
Upon accessing the mobileemail.vodafone.net site, when i enter my IMEI and pin it states my account is de-activated or suspended - upon browsing the web this usually happens with phones bought from ebay/stolen phones. Note-This is a brand new handset, direct from Vodafone. My account is fine, Vodafone can see no problem and have now told me they are out of answers.
I just bought a blackberry bold and it not connecting to the internet. theres a message that says "unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. if the problem persists please contact your service provider." i did that but it didnt help.
I am using BB Bold9700. Once I connected wifi everything is OK and same time I can browse through it. After 2nd day same wifi showing as connected, then trying to brose showing "Unable to connect to the internet please try again later. I this problem persists please contact your provider"
Im at a hotel in florida and my 9700 connects to the wifi, but when i go to load an internet page it takes about 2 minutes and then says unable to connect to server or something along those lines, the internet works perfectly fine on my laptop.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 with O2, when I try to conect to the nternet i'm geting this mesage 'A communication failure has occured. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider. Its been happening for a day now, will phone O2 but was wondering if theres anything else i could try first?
My blackberry bold9700 wasworking great last night. This morning i woke up, and the internet no longer works. I did not even turn off my phone last night . I gave it a charge and the net stopped working.
When i check my connection, it says i have Connection: mobile network.I know i have blackberry data on this phone. Can anyone please help me?
I just got a new BB Bold 9700 from the UK and had it sent to me in Iraq. I've connected to my home wifi, which i used to do with my old BB to use the BBM service, but for some reason my new BB won't connect to the internet even though it is connected to my wifi. My laptop is connected to the internet through the wifi and there doesn't seem to be any problems with conflicting IP addresses or anything like that so i don't know why my BB won't connect to the internet. Could it be that my BB wasn't registered while it was in the UK or anything like that? Or is there another reason?
I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v126.96.36.1994 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."
I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, and I can not connect to the internet through WiFi. I am trying to access the internet through a WAP2 secure router. I have entered the correct password, and per review of the router log, it has assigned an IP address to my phone. However, when I try to verify the IP address on my phone, the IP address is 0.00.0.0.
When I try to access teh interenet on my phone, the error message i get is that my phone is unable to connect to the interent.Since I am traveling from home, I have truned off the data service on my phone,, but I should still be able to access the internet through the WiFi service.
I have the problem that my blackberry doesn't connect with the internet even though I pay for an internet flat. I'm afraid that I just changed something on blackberry because it used to work just fine before. What's different now is, that it is suddenly connected with GSM instead of Edge and under work status it says Blackberry Internet Service: no connection. How do I turn this connection back on?
I have just been to Montreal and could not get my bold 9700 to connect to rogers 3G, it would connect to 2G. I am on contract with orange UK. My friend is on 02 UK and had no prob with rogers 3G. I looked at his phone and it had 1 or 2 more "3g bands" listed in the software version? Is this the norm. Are you with orange UK? How many bands do you have listed?
I am completely new to Blackberry and received yesterday my first Bold 9700. The problem is that I cannot connect to my wifi. I have read several post and tried the solutions but nothing works.I checked the password of my connection very carefully and used the WPA2 security setting with the correct password. I checked the MAC adresses.I have a Linsys WRT160N router with WPA2 Personal (TKIP or AES) encryption. The grey-black wifi logo appears which indicated I am connected to a wifi network but am not in a wifi coverage area (even when I am 50 cm from the router). In the wifi diagnostics page there is no ip-address or signal strength, it says "connection of device to AP has failed" (or something like that because it is in Dutch.I have no clue what to do to solve this so can anybody help me please?
got a new 9700 today it will not connect by bluetooth to my car I used to have a 9000 and it connected faultlessly to both my cars, the 9700 connects to neither It finds the car and asks for the 4 digit code that it accepts but it never actually connects its the same with both cars
version 6 2475 software
I have tried changing every bluetooth setting but no difference?
I sold my at&t bold 9700 and bought a t-mobile version, unlocked it and am using it on at&t and I don't have to pay the ridiculous price of 30 per month for internet service on my phone. really I only need the phone for texting, phone calls listening to music and taking some pictures anywayz. Till phone carriers lower their prices. I will never pay 30 a month for smart phone internet again.
I've recently upgraded my phone to the Blackberry 9700 (my first BB so I'm completely clueless) and received it yesterday.I also changed my plan to allow internet access.
I registered my phone and was told to turn it off for 2 hours so they can update the sim and everything, which I did. I then turned it on and I can make calls, send texts and all of that, but when I try to access the internet it says 'This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again'? I'm taking a guess here, but I think this may be because they haven't updated my plan yet?
Also, I went on the browser whilst connected to Wi-Fi, tried to download the app world and it said something along the lines of 'Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements require'. What's going on?
Anyone know why I can't go on FaceBook or on the internet at all when the wi-fi is on? It connects to my home wi-fi connection but I can't go on the net.It tells me i need the data plan.I thought wi-fi would give me internet on my phone.
When connecting to the internet I click on the second last icon on the main Bold screen (Telstra icon). After approximately 20 seconds, the blue "loading" bar at the bottom of the screen reaches 100% but remains sitting at "loading" with a blank white screen. There is no error message, and remains in this mode until I press the end / hang up key to return to the main screen.
This is my first post. I write to you after several weeks of frustration with my phone as well as a million calls with Rogers customer support.
My problem :
1)I cannot browse the internet using the internet browser both on wifi or Roger's data network
2)Facebook app cannot establish a connection to the server
3)When I use the Browser app it will work for like 10 minutes but then all of sudden the internet just stops working.
I believe all of the three observations listed above have the same root cause. What is odd is that BBM works, my email works, BB app world works, I can even browse with the web2go browser - just not the three items I have described above.I really don't want to restore my phone because i have paid apps and i don't want to pay for my apps again.
My failed troubleshooting attempts so far :
1) Removed battery and sim card + reboot. Done it 1,000,000 times - no success 2) Resend service books - no success
I know this might sound weird, but... I realize that I am addicted to the internet and spend too much time on it, and want to purposefully restrict myself by NOT being able to access the internet at all on my Blackberry Bold 9700.I don't have a data plan, but I log onto my landlord's WiFi using the password he gave me. Therefore, I have internet access through WiFi, but I would like to either get rid of that ability altogether, or find a way to password-protect the browsers (the regular browser and Opera).
i have a 9700 unlocked Rogers phone on Tmobile now, I have the 50$ plan plus 10 BIS service, I came home to Canada and turned my phone on wifi and turned of the mobile network so i dont use all my minutes, I have been here since Friday june 24 and my phone has been working fine. Now today all of a sudden everything stops working i can make and recieve calls on my blackberry but no internet no bbm no google talk nothing, I called tech support they are putting out a ticket...ya right...they told me to check my HOST ROUTING TABLE IT SAYS "NO ENTIRES" I did a wipe of my phone nothing, my wifi wont work <removed>..
I have a bold and am connected with O2, my home wireless router is "this one" its a safecom, it's an oldie but works 100% perfect. My broadband service provider is Virgin, again no issues there. Here is the problem. I have connected my Bold to my wireless network, i have a perfect conection, on the manage connections screen I have wifi check box ticked to show it is on, I have the name of my wireless network and it is in green to signify a connection but further along I have a " - " where I am ( I believe ) supposed to see a green tick.
I have changed browser settings to "hotspot" and followed some comprehensive guides to help sorting this out but I still cannot use my home broadband to connect to the net. I can see the wifi icon greyed out, which i believe states that wifi is on but not using the connection?
I have stopped / changed settings on the phone to stop it using O2 to access the net hoping to force it to use the internet/wifi conection but I get the error message telling me that it cannot connect and to contact my service provider.
I have been to O2, they have instructed me to go to Virgin ( no luck there, they tried to get me to sign up to a connection...I am already connected.....lights on, no one home! )
Does anyone know if it is a broadband issue or O2 issue or a user issue! And whats the fix? Here are ( is ) the comprehensive guide I have followed http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/complete-wifi-how-47229/
I am here at saudi arabia and I purchased a BB Bold 9000,but I can't connect to the internet, and I know my settings are wrong, but i can't change it(at the browse configuration), I search the site of my network, there is a message that required a software installation, because my network was also selling a BB and i purchased it only to the m obile store not at my network, somebody there knows what software needs to install and how to install it?
I am using AT&T as my carrier and I am unable to connect to internet (Web Browser or e-mail) without Wi-Fi. I have already tried:
1. Unplug the battery multiple times
2. Host Table Resend
3. Resend Service Books
I am able to make calls etc. but e-mail internet only works when I use my home Wi-Fi connection but not using 3G. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I could try. I have called AT&T and the only suggestion they gave is to wipe the device which seems rather drastic.
I am using Blackberry 9900 smartphone with OS version7.0 Bundle 1346 (V188.8.131.521, Platform 184.108.40.2064)and i was initially able to connect to internet via apps and browser but after a while, i am unable to connect to internet via the application in the phone such as Facebook, Twitter, What's App and etc. I try 3G and wifi with no success but weird thing is i am still able to do web browsing via the blackberry native web browser. Have Google and found user with similar problem in the link [URL]The only way that i can able to use the app again is by taking out the battery and put it back to reboot the device. Then i will be able to use it for 5-8 hours where this problem will happen again.
am using a Blackberry internet service from M1, singapore provider. To manage the data usage, I turn off the data plan in Set up mobile network, but then I also cannot the internet by wifi. Why is that?By the way, how can I manage the data usage? I want to use the service plan when I need to minimize the data usage, because I only have 1gb for free a month.
