BB Bold 9000 :: Bold Not Connect To Device Manager
Jun 29, 2010I am working with a Bold 9000 and having issues getting the device connected to an Acer Extensa 5430 Laptop. I have gone through every troubleshooting step I have seen online so far but still no progress.
Device:
Blackberry Bold 9000 PC:
Acer Extensa 5430 Laptop
3 USB ports
Windows Vista Home Premium
Troubleshooting Completed:
*Installed Blackberry Desktop Manager 501_b073_multilanguage from Blackberry website. Connected Device to USB1, Device recognized in Windows Device Manager as "Blackberry Smartphone" under USB Controllers and "RIM Virtual Serial Port v2 (COM8) and (COM9) under Ports in Windows Device Manager, but Blackbery Device Manager only shows COM3 "Disabled" and nothing else. Desktop Manager shows "Device Connected (PIN): None"
*Uninstalled Driver for Blackberry Device in Windows Device Manager and reconnected Device to USB2. Same result
*Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager 501_b073_multilanguage and reinstalled with out Media Manager or Roxio>Installed device software from Provider specific Blackberry Site(software version 5.0.0.442)>Reconnected Device to USB3. Same Result
*Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager 501_b073_multilanguage and uninstalled Blackberry Device driver through Windows Device Manager> Uninstalled ALL USB Root Hub>Restarted Computer>Installed Desktop Manager 500_b028_multilanguage>Reconnected Device to USB1. Same Result
*Uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager 500_b028_multilanguage>Did a battery pull on device>restarted PC>Installed Blackberry Desktop Manager 501_b073_multilanguage. Reconnected Device to USB1 Same Result
*Did a battery pull on device and connected to PC using USB2 without battery installed. Same Result
At this point I am at a loss for a next step in troubleshooting.

BB Bold :: It Won't Connect To Wi-fi
Dec 30, 2011I recently bought my Blackberry 9700 nad its great. But the problem is that I don't have a wi-fi router connection. I use wi-fi using the software connectify.me. This makes my laptop the router and it sends out signals. When i tried it the first time it worked perfectly, but after that it didn't work. It shows that wi-fi is connected but the sign infront of wi-fi connection is (-).

Sep 3, 2010I have just been to Montreal and could not get my bold 9700 to connect to rogers 3G, it would connect to 2G. I am on contract with orange UK. My friend is on 02 UK and had no prob with rogers 3G. I looked at his phone and it had 1 or 2 more "3g bands" listed in the software version? Is this the norm. Are you with orange UK? How many bands do you have listed?

Aug 5, 2010I am completely new to Blackberry and received yesterday my first Bold 9700. The problem is that I cannot connect to my wifi. I have read several post and tried the solutions but nothing works.I checked the password of my connection very carefully and used the WPA2 security setting with the correct password. I checked the MAC adresses.I have a Linsys WRT160N router with WPA2 Personal (TKIP or AES) encryption.The grey-black wifi logo appears which indicated I am connected to a wifi network but am not in a wifi coverage area (even when I am 50 cm from the router).In the wifi diagnostics page there is no ip-address or signal strength, it says "connection of device to AP has failed" (or something like that because it is in Dutch.I have no clue what to do to solve this so can anybody help me please?

My phone would not charge, so I gave it in for repair and was given a brand new phone in return.However, now my phone, it just won't connect to wi-fi.The message 'failed to authenticate against network' just keeps coming up.I've deleted it from my saved networks, and tried again. It just won't do.My internet works perfectly fine when its connected to my network, it's just with the wi-fi that it doesn't connect.

Jun 13, 2010I just got a 9930 and BBM is working fine however none of my BBM connected apps can connect to BBM. They (wikitude, BeepUs, Poynt, ScoreMobile, Etc) are still in the pending status after more than 24 hrs and every time I try to connect them it says the server is unavailable and to try again later. Does anyone have any idea how I can resolve this issue? I never had this problem with my 9650 and I really love the 9930 so I need to get these to work asap.

The new phone I was given had a fault and I was told that this is very common with refurbished phones which is what you are given when you claim a new phone with insurance with my network.Today I got my second refurbished phone and am currently trying to set everything up i.e.. The new facebook, bbm, and various other apps I've lived with for a year on my old phone.The problem I'm faced with is that every time I try to download anything via appworld, it comes to a certain point, mostly when trying to log in or sometimes it gets as far as starting to download yet not further than that, the screen freezes and pop up announces that:'blackberry app world is having trouble connecting to the blackberry app world server. Verify your network connections and try again'So..Is this a fault in the phone maybe because it's a refurbished phone and therefore not reliable or truly 'new', or is there anything I could do/try to get some apps!?

Dec 12, 2011I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, and I can not connect to the internet through WiFi. I am trying to access the internet through a WAP2 secure router. I have entered the correct password, and per review of the router log, it has assigned an IP address to my phone. However, when I try to verify the IP address on my phone, the IP address is 0.00.0.0.
When I try to access teh interenet on my phone, the error message i get is that my phone is unable to connect to the interent.Since I am traveling from home, I have truned off the data service on my phone,, but I should still be able to access the internet through the WiFi service.

Sep 24, 2011I bought a BB Bold 9900 in Dubai (one week ago), and returned home to China where I use a China Unicom service (WCDMA) - SIM card previously in iPhone4. The phone works (phone calls, SMS, internet etc). But, when I attempt to perfrom the Blackberry IS Sign In (previously created on PC), I get message that username/password invalid. If I attempt to create a new Username/PW using the phone I get the following message: "Unable to connect to the Blackberry ID service. Please connect to the wireless network and try again"
P.S. why doesn't outdent work in this massage posting software - indent works?!

Jul 20, 2010I have been having issues for the last month or so with my 9700. When I get home none of my internet heavy apps or the browser work. Its not every day. Just intermittently. After multiple calls to T-Mo and verification that there were NO issues in my area (a full 3G area) they finally sent me a replacement 9700. I've had it a week and no problems...until today. Same issue. If I put my phone on 2G it seems to work ok if its on 3G/2G it won't connect to the internet at all.Anyone out there know why this could be happening? I had me first 9700 since November with zero internet connectivity issues.

The phone is currently set on 1XEV network and even so i get two to three bars maximum everywhere i go. In the two days since ive had the phone I haven't had full service anywhere. Im in the New York area and I understand that Sprint's 3G network is extensive so I dont understand why i wouldn't have coverage unless it may be an issue with the headset.
