Dec 31, 2011The Icon for text messages is not showing them. When I point to it I get "setup". The ONLY way I've been able to find my text messages is to go to "search", type in "tex" (no more because it mis directs me) then the icon with all the messages is there. I tried the BB button and do NOT get an option to move the folder. The ONLY way I've been able to find it is to use the specific search method as stated above. I've been working on the problem for 2 hours now since a friend told me via Facebook that she had sent me a text.

Feb 2, 2010When I first got the phone, the little red notification did show up above the letter when I got a new email. But after A certain time frame, it would go away. I then found out that after I do a battery pull, it fixes the problem for a while, but then it goes back to not showing the little red notification again. I was wondering if their was a way to fix this? or if its just a permanent bug.

Apr 10, 2012you need to go to General/Network turn on "Cellular Data" which allows you to access the "Data Roaming" section To force the phone to "search" you can turn on Airplane mode and then turn it off - and that will force the search.

Jun 25, 2010this is my first time posting and first bb. ive had my curve 8530 from bell for about 3+ months now, and when i first got it i couldnt find the maps icon, but it said the program was loaded to the phone. a week ago i downloaded maps to my phone again using a usb to my comp. and it showed up and worked perfectly, i love the program and whant to keep using it so DONT tell me to download google maps. but yesterday i had to get a new battery for my phone and the icon dissapered so i tried downloading it again.... and again but nothing.. is there a step that i missed this time that i did last time?

Sep 20, 2012I'm using a Torch 9800 and I have a message icon in the little notification bar in between the profile selector and the search but I have no messages. I have no voicemail that I haven't listened to, no unread facebook messages or emails, no missed calls, nothing that I can see that would create the little envelope message icon and if I click on it it does not show that I have any messages - only my calender entries. This happened about a month ago and then happened again 2 days ago so I now have 2 messages showing but no messages which is so irritating. Not stopping my phone from working or anything horrid like that, just an irritation as I think I have a message when I don't actually have any unread messages. I have also tried to reboot a number of times but then 1st thing I see when it reboots is those 2 stupid messages that don't exist.

BB Torch :: Showing Up In The General Message Icon?
Aug 16, 2011So all of my emails used to show up both in the address specific icon as well as the general message icon. Now they are only showing up in the general message icon.
When I try to access specific emails that I know are for the specific emaill adddress the icon opens but it just displays "*No Messages*" even though the little red astrix is on the icon indicating I have received a new email for that specific address.

Jan 1, 2010I've had two Blackberry, but I'm new to the community. I traded my Pearl for the Curve 8330 a couple of days ago. The new message icon is constantly showing up. It started with three, then four, and now six. I have read several forums and have tried pulling my battery several times. I have even deleted my e-mail account and set it up again. I have gone into all my folders to see if there is a message hiding somewhere. I can't find anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Aside from doing a factory restore and/or calling Verizon does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reset the counter? By the way, my carrier is Verizon!

And I have turned off the Email Notifications.I have pulled the battery, rebooted, deleted the application, reinstalled the application....nothing keeps me from being notified about notifications.

Aug 25, 2011When one of my phone contacts texts me, their name has a small mobile phone icon at the side of their name instead of the standard icon.This icon also shows up in my email inbox and BBM when they text me, and I can also open their texts in my email and BBM.I can also reply via SMS using my email and my BBM.When they text me a message, the standard message symbol doesn't appear, although the light flashes the colour I have set to that contact, and a BBM symbol comes up. If I open the message in the SMS or Email inbox, the BBM symbol disappears. I've tried rebooting the phone, and it doesn't do this with any other of my contacts.
