i have a blackberry bold 9780 and i updates to the new version of facebook but then itwould never work, when ever i clicked on the icon nothing happened so i thought i would uninstall it and then reinstall it again but now the icon wont appear on my menu even though it says it app world that it is installed>

Anyway the problem I have is Facebook and Whatsapp do NOT show the number of notifications on Icon only in the status bar. Here's a couple of screen captures to show you what I mean.
The facebook icon is permanently on my screen telling me I have 2 unread messages, but I haven't? How can I get rid of them? I have de-installed and re-installed FB but no joy!

It does connect to the wifi, and all other functions seem to be working okay. I tried with different SIM cards with different providers with the same result. These SIM cards are working fine with other handsets.

I'm having a problem since yesterday that the FB notification has not come out and this never happen to me before. What make me really disappointed is when I press "Notification" in menu, its come out what I'm posting, not the posting that made from my friend. I checked the "Option" menu but nothing changed even I reinstall but the problem is still there, just now I'm using my android to check the notification, I checked also your facebook support page but the solution is no use for me as I set that already.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past week or so when i try and check in on facebook places on my blackberry bold 9780 its not been working, its always worked perfect until i tried about a week or so ago, and since then ive tried nearly everyday just to see if its working but no nothing, keeps coming up with facebook error 2002 try again later. It works fine, finds my location, asks me if i want to check in, i click on check in and thats when the error message comes up, so doesnt let me finally check in. I dont know if its since ive updated to the new facebook app, i dont always use places, just now and again ,but always has worked great, until when i tried a week ago, it wouldnt let me and hasnt since. Ive got my location settings ON on options and ive refreshed GPS ,tried it with wireless on and wireless off, in many different locations, reboot phone etc but nope still the same.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy bold 9780 keeps showing a white screen. i kept trying to reboot it but whenever the blackberry reboot screen came up it changed to a blank white screen and wouldnt move from there. i took it into a o2 shop & they said to update the software so i did that but still the white screen shows. although it doesnt show now when i am trying to reboot my phone it still shows it while im using my phone and i have to do a battery pull before it will leave the white screen. i can still recieve messages while the white screen is there but i cant see the screen to read them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI received a call yesterday in the evening and the screen turned white. I tried removing the battery + pressed alt, right caps and del but still did not work. Also tried reloading the OS although it has the latest version of 6.0.0.264 using application loader yesterday. It did not work either. But today morning I went to carphone warehouse, they tried to tweak it but in vain. They suggested it was a hardware problem and had to be sent to bb support (which takes 28 days!!) It was still showing a blank screen. When i reached home, surprisingl y the cell phone was fine (dun ask how). I restored the data which i had saved on the laptop. After a few min tried calling up a friend, and the cell went blank again. I just pressed alt, right caps and del n it seemed to be fine again. Tried calling up and problem still persists.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've searched every forums and search engine for this, but cannont pin point my exact problem...I bought a 9780 yesterday, everything was fine, i set up my emails etc... everything worked.THEN... i stupidly security waped the phone this when things changed.Once the phone came back on i re-configured my email accounts, but now when i go onto my emails i see no inbox folder or emails what was there previouslyALTHOUGH i can send and recieve emails, but these come in list format...Ive made sure and uncheak the hide folder and sent numerous service book requests (these come through...)

The problem is raised, but nobody sais: "yes you can do this, by doing this and that," OR "no, you can not do it, it is not possible".I bought a BB 9780 bold in the recent days. I is a used device, I bought it in a GSM store, it was wiped, therefore completely empty. I refreshed OS6 to the latest version, set everything I could, but I can not get 2 applications to work:BB Maps and Windows Live Messenger.
Maps is simply missing, no matter how many times I install it, it is installed. I do not have a BIS data plan yet, I use the general data plan from my provider. Unfortuntely I can not get a BIS at the moment, for technical reasons.As I understand t can be a problem of service books. Not having a BIS however, I can not ask my carrier for BB service books.Any solutions, ideas? (here I mention, that I downloaded BB links app, and it shows the maps app, I could even start it, but it is a blank screen, however it proves the app is there, but problem must be with provisions/authorization).
My other problem is Windows live messenger, which runs perfectly, except for not logging in. When I put my login credentials, it sais: "Service not enabled for this handheld." So it is not working, I am sure it is also a question of provisioning.I used to use BB in past, some with an sometimes without BIS, and both applicatioins worked fine on those devices. This leads me to the conclusion, that the issue is a question of settings, not devices or BIS plan availability.
One of my email icons are not showing up on my home screen nor on my menu screen when i press "show all" applications. I've tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds, finding service books (it won't let me send), and i've tried checking if it was hidden, but i didn't know how to check that on the 9780. I've tried looking it up and every post says "from the home screen, press menu and then show all" but there is no regular menu option nor is there a show all.

I can't even exit the app. I have to remove the battery to be able to use the device again. This has been a long standing problem with this device. It wanted to do an update while I was in a wifi zone and then thigns started going wrong from that day.So what happens is i'll be scanning thru the icons and they'll just open without me clicking on them. Also, when texting or using bbm, my msg will send without me clicking send. So I will be half done a msg and it'll send. Finally, I've tried to battery out, restore, and all those classic quick fix optoins and they haven't worked.

How do I get rid of a message icon in the header bar when there is no message there? I have deleted all messages on facebook, removed the battery and it still is there. I have searched for hidden messages and can't find any.
