I want to back up my Bold 9900, but I got an error message on memos, everything else is backed up, only memosmessage:"Unexpected Backup Error"I tried deleted the cache, clearing the phone history! I've got almost 300 notes, is that the problem?I'm using the latest version of DM on Mac, my device software is 7.0?
View 1 RepliesA few days ago I decided to update my device (9900) software to 7.1. And it has been a disaster since I received the update thru the Update Software Section on my phone but since then is has only gotten to 3% of the backup. I have restarted the phone several times, and pulled the battery several times and well and left the phone for hours hoping it would get itself together, to only occasionally fine (app error code:603) and yes at this present moment it is still stuck at 3% back up, this is 3rd day.

When trying to take a video, the camera starts but when you try and record it gives the msg.: Unexpected error, unable to save video.I have tried several reboots both soft and hard and continue to get this message.The video did work when I got the phone several months ago. can still take pictures and save... just not video...

I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.

I dont know which update it was, but this is not important as I have updated to anna anyway (hoped to fix that by anna). But the problem persists.When I switch on the camera (by any method), it shows this error. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to back up all my data before doing a security swipe (impossible to connect to BBID and this seems to be the only solution...) but Blackberry Protect isn't working online (it says my phone is busy and the back up cannot be completed).I've tried to back up via my software but none of my contacts, pics, calendars or tasks appear when I click on the logo. I cannot even update the phone's software as nothing seems to work... I cannot use my phone properly and there is no way to call IRM (O2 said they could not help, great...).

I've deleted some videos and now, all of a sudden, as soon as I want to use the camera it opens on video mode, the screen went blank and give the message; "Unexpected error occurred. Power off the device and restart". I did that a few times, but the problem persists. I also went so far to take the phone back to the original factory settings, but to no avail. The next step was to download the firmware from the internet. After that, the camera worked and could take pictures, but as soon as I switched over to video camera. I updated from 7.0 to 7.1 and just noticed that a number of my calendar entries are missing.I'm not entirely sure when this happened.I don't think it happened at the time of updating to the new OS but it's possible.I received an "out of application memory" error message a week ago and have read that people have encountered a loss of data with such an error.I did a backup of my data on May 17th before upgrading to 7.1 calendar entries = 800, today calendar entries = 369.Since I use my device on a BES all entries associated with the BES account appear to be intact but I've lost all other entries.When I went to restore the calendar entries only from the backup it is greyed out indicating that these are "read only data types and cannot be restored" when selecting "Select Data to Restore/Select device data and settings" as opposed to "All device data and settings".Unsure how to proceed - clearly the data is present in the backup based on the entry value do I need to do a full restore and rollback to 7.0? in order to recover the calendar entries??

However, it's been "installing" for 8 hours now, and it's stuck on 14% Overall backup progress. And 0% Social Feeds.Also, not sure if it's related. (probably is) but my Signal is off and i have no network connection. And I've got good coverage usually at home. I realised the problem about 7 hours in, after it said it would only be 2. So I battery pulled it, and it didn't work, then I tried battery and sim pulling, that didn't work. I've tried hooking it up to my blackberry desktop. It can't pick the device up because of it.
