BB Bold :: Unable To Backup 9900 - Taking Long At Smart Card Option
Feb 8, 2012
I am unable to backup Blackberry Bold 9900. The Backup at Smart Card Option takes a long time to complete. I tried all possible solutions that I was able to find on a generic google search.
I am trying to back up all my data before doing a security swipe (impossible to connect to BBID and this seems to be the only solution...) but Blackberry Protect isn't working online (it says my phone is busy and the back up cannot be completed).I've tried to back up via my software but none of my contacts, pics, calendars or tasks appear when I click on the logo. I cannot even update the phone's software as nothing seems to work... I cannot use my phone properly and there is no way to call IRM (O2 said they could not help, great...).
In Options-->Device-->Smart Accessories, in the "Simple Charger" profile I set the "Start Application" option to an application of my choosing and it works great. When I charge with the USB charger in my car, the app launches. However, as soon as I restart my phone, that option resets back to "TeleNav GPS Navigator."
Any advice on how to get my selection to stick after restarts?
phone is 6 weeks old. Yesterday on the camera mode it just kept taking pictures by it self. I don't have the convenience key set up anymore, tried downgrading the OS not difference. No other application seems to be affected. Have done the battery pull nothing works.
I am facing a problem when trying to make a backup for my Bold 9900, as it reach the point "backing up Smart Card Options", it just freeze and don't want to complete for more than an hour, I have been facing this problem for months?
I have a bold 9900 it does not have the camera apps in order to take pictures or video recording, what do I have to do to restore the proper apps do I have to reset it to factory setting, if yes how do I do that, since I do not have the disk?
Today, I got instructions from AT&T on how to unlock. I was able to perform backup on iTunes of my iPhone 4. But, I am not able to see the option to do 'Restore from backup' in iTunes. Currently, I have the Gevey SIM in the iPhone, not the original AT&T SIM.
[URL]..If I understand it correctly this will allow iOS and android devices to hook up to the BES (maybe BIS in the future?). RIM makes money and people get more variety in their phone choice. Win win (assuming its adopted by corporations)
Edit:*sigh* just realized I wrote multiplayform instead of multiplatform
I had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.

I've bought Unbranded Bold 9900, all thing works perfectly.Except the Network Option.. I can't set the network to H+ like 9900 from Rogers/Bell/Telus..Here in Indonesia, my carrier offering & provide H+ Network, but I can't change my unbranded 9900 network to H+..My friends also bought 9900 from Rogers Canada,he bring it to Indonesia, and he also used the same carrier like mine who support H+ Network..In his Rogers 9900 he can switch the network option to 3G/H+,he got H+ symbol at the signal bars, and he can enjoy the H+ network. My question is:Can I have the H+ network option in Unbranded 9900 ?So, I can enjoy too the H+ services on my carrier..Is there a difference between unbranded 9900 and 9900 rogers ?
As stated above, my blackberry wont back up completely, it reaches "social feeds" then it disconnects. i logged out of facebook and twitter, and the error still appears.Im trying to back up on a mabook pro, also i viewed other posts with errors, and they are using the same mac desktop manager.
After i updated my software from v7.0.0.1465 to 7.1.0.1149 by downloading the file and install it through PC , it created a backup file named "LoaderBackup-(2012-05-18).bbb" and this file extenion isn't acceptable by the blackberry desktop software.what shall i do to restore all my data?
Tried running the new software update and all seemed to go fine at first, but now the 'overall backup progress' bar has been dead at 9% for a while and the 'social feeds' above has been stuck on 0% for the same amount of time. Ive tried rebooting but whenever i do this, the update starts up again and gets to the same point before stopping again.
So I starting the process to upgrade my 16GB iPhone 3G last night to OS4. After a few hours I stopped it because it kept getting hung up during the backup, or so I thought. I then deleted all the video on my phone, thinking that would speed thinks up with the backup. I got my data down to less than 3GB, started the download again and went to bed.
After letting the download run all night, I checked it today only see it again appears to be stuck at around 1% of the backup process. I will let it run for another day, but are you kidding me?
How many days does it take to finish this freaking upgrade?
I have a Curve 8530 on Telus (about 7 months old). It takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes for me to receive an email. My huband (9700 on Telus) has sent me an email and we timed it to take 14 minutes. I have 2 accounts on the BB - a corporate and a hotmail account, and the timing is the same for either. I have done a battery pull, backed up my phone and updated it - nothing works.
So I've recently been having a few problems with my phone...
1) I've been charging the phone for about 18 hours now and it's only gotten to 75% (My battery app has an estimate of 1 day and 2 hours to reach 100%). 2) The wifi on the phone is very slow (about 3 mbps when my internet plan has a max of 30 mbps).
For the charging problem I've tried resets, other android chargers, and hooking the charger to a reliable wall outlet but none have worked so far. For the wifi, it looks like the phone works fine with other wifi signals except my home one although my roommate's phone works at home as well.
I have been trying to download several apps to my iphone 4s and it is taking way too long. Like more than an hour. What is wrong? I have tried rebooting it and that has not made a difference.
i got an email saying that i should update my phone and the backup part of the update is taking at least 2 hours and more, how do i speed up this process?
Every time I try to sync my iPhone, whether it's with the usb cable or over wifi, it gets stuck at 'step 7 of 7, waiting for items to copy'. Generally it waits there for about 15 minutes and then starts copying thousands of tracks. There's no apparant problem with the music that it's trying to copy to the phone & it's not doing it with the entire library. I know it's not a major problem, but an action that used to take a few minutes at most, has started to take up to an hour.
I went from an iphone 4s to 5s; backed up from icloud, but after a full 24 hours, it's not complete- is it stuck? Is there something I can do? Should I just wait?
I've been using my new LG G4 for 2 weeks and I've been liking the smart lock feature like trusted face and trusted devices but yesterday this feature stopped working and when I checked i didn't find this option at all !
I updated from 7.0 to 7.1 and just noticed that a number of my calendar entries are missing.I'm not entirely sure when this happened.I don't think it happened at the time of updating to the new OS but it's possible.I received an "out of application memory" error message a week ago and have read that people have encountered a loss of data with such an error.I did a backup of my data on May 17th before upgrading to 7.1 calendar entries = 800, today calendar entries = 369.Since I use my device on a BES all entries associated with the BES account appear to be intact but I've lost all other entries. When I went to restore the calendar entries only from the backup it is greyed out indicating that these are "read only data types and cannot be restored" when selecting "Select Data to Restore/Select device data and settings" as opposed to "All device data and settings".Unsure how to proceed - clearly the data is present in the backup based on the entry value do I need to do a full restore and rollback to 7.0? in order to recover the calendar entries??
