View 2 RepliesI recently upgrade phone, from 9780 to 9790.Behalf the battery duration that's really poor, I've big problem with touchscreen! In my search in this forum and others related with BB, I couldn't find anything that helps me with the annoying touchscreen.I simply want to disable my touchscreen! I don't want that functionality on my phone. And RIM doesn't have any other equipment similar to that without touchscreen.I know that exist some applications that permit to lock the screen during a call, but what I really want it's to disable the touchscreen. Is there an official or officious way to do that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my bb for about 6 months now. A few days ago, i noticed that my screen started flickering whenever i used the trackpad to scroll through icons on the home screen.Later, I realised that it would suddenly go dim, i.e. the screen would still show the icons but so dim that the screen looks completely dark., at random intevals.Whenever I pressed the screen lock button at the top to blank it and then press it again to reactivate it, it would reactivate but again at a very dim setting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of our users upgraded to the Blackberry Bold 9900 primarily because of the improved keyboard and weight. He is a longtime BB user most recently upgrading from an earlier Bold 9700 before that the 8800 series as well as earlier models. He does not like the touch screen and it is driving him crazy. I cannot find anything about turning it off. How can you disable the touch screen on it? I have seen posts on other sites requesting this, but have seen no solutions, other than adjusting the sensitivity.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am facing the same issue on my 5 day old 9900. The touch screen just stopped working on the 2nd day & it has come up since then. I have tried the following to correct the issue but, no success:
1. Cold Reboot (Pull battery when device is on)
2. Simple Reboot (Pull battery when device is OFF)
3. Remove battery then, SIM & SD Card, plug in battery then pull it again & put everything back in
None of these worked, my OS version is v7.0.0.261 Bundle 1346 Platform 5.0.0.464 Should I update my phone software? Each time I try to check for an upgrade it says you have the latest one.
I really dislike the touch screen, I'm constantly correcting mis-touches. Is there a way to disable the touch screen and just use the touch pad to navigate?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC One M8 and I cannot seem to figure out a way to "lock" the screen so that the touchscreen buttons are disabled during video playback. My previous phone was a Samsung and you just had to press the power button to ensure that any accidental screen touches wouldn't interfere with the video.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been playing with this phone for a week or so and there are a couple of things that bug me. First of all is the annoying vibration every time you touch the screen or any side buttons. Can the vibration be disabled? Secondly, I hate the default touch screen functions like music, video and pictures. I use none of these.I want to have a button that shows the recent call list from the outer screen.I can do this when I have missed a call, but how can I change or add this function to the outer screen so I can see my missed calls whenever I want not just when I have a recent missed call.I use the phone with a headset most of the time which is why I would like to do this without opening the flip.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bought Blackberry bold 9900. I can use GPRS to sync the mail, calendar, browse internet and so on, but this is a little bit expensive and I have wifi at home so I want to use it instead of GPRSHow can I disable GPRS (so that I'm sure that the phone doesn't sync or use internet through it) and enable wifi so that the phone only can use this to avoid huge bill for cell phone? I understand, that I can't use BBM and some few other apps with wifi, but let say I want to check only my gmail account, browse internet at home on WIFI, send/receive sms and answer calls. If I disable "data services" in "mobile network" wifi stays connected, but I can't browse.

Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 9900 had a blinking light and would not start. my provider gave me the solution to force download the software, my phone works now but the touch screen does not, also I had backed up the phone and upon restore I did not get my apps restored. I had to download App World and when signing in it did not lead me to my previous apps or even the ones that were given free by RIM.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDissappointed to find I can't disable the touch screen. I've had a Bold 9900 for just over a week now and it's starting to drive me crazy. On a call it went to loud speaker or hold phone function for whatever reason or call to somebody else at the same time or various other irritations. The worst thing is that I work in technical support and many people call me every day on Blackberry. So during the last week I deal with lots of unsatisfied and confused customers. Is there any possibility to turn off the touch screen in a call mode? Are there any other possibilities how to fix this problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHi I have had the Bold for about 3 months and about 1 month ago the touchscreen stopped working, i looked online and saw the battery reset option (taking out the battery) it worked at first but then it happened again and again ect. So i then saw the alt+aA+del option this worked too temporarily so now i will take out the battery it will work for about five minutes and then you will not be able to use the touchscreen (everything else is fine)?
