I have an HTC One M8 and I cannot seem to figure out a way to "lock" the screen so that the touchscreen buttons are disabled during video playback. My previous phone was a Samsung and you just had to press the power button to ensure that any accidental screen touches wouldn't interfere with the video.

First of all is the annoying vibration every time you touch the screen or any side buttons.Can the vibration be disabled? Secondly, I hate the default touch screen functions like music, video and pictures. I use none of these.I want to have a button that shows the recent call list from the outer screen.I can do this when I have missed a call, but how can I change or add this function to the outer screen so I can see my missed calls whenever I want not just when I have a recent missed call.I use the phone with a headset most of the time which is why I would like to do this without opening the flip.

But in the gallery the playback of these videos sometimes lags (video stops, audio continues or stops too) and sometimes this ends with a restart of the whole phone (display backlight shuts off, screen freezes, then NOKIA shows up and the phone starts again, without asking for PIN, resulting in the standby screen). Usually if I play the same video again, it does not lag. The video is stored on an SDHC 4GB card, class C4. I have installed the latest firmware.Any suggestions?

It's like just a small delay that's happening every time I watch a video. Like the volume automatically mutes itself randomly. And I would have to restart whatever media app I'm using and start over from where I left off. This only happens when I use headphones and I have tried several different ones. I usually use the in-ear samsung ones that came with the phone or my sony ones. Both are standard headphones. I don't have any wireless or bluetooth headphones. It never happens on loudspeaker.
It happens with media on my phone, sd card, whether I use WIFI, 4G , 3G or Flight Mode. It also happens when the phone is charging or using the battery.
I have done a soft reset, factory reset, and also removed every 3rd party media player app.
It doesn't happen when I play games or when I listen to music on the Music App.
Phone Model: SM G901F Apps affected: MX Player, VLC Player, Soundcloud, Youtube, Video Player.
This has been annoying me for the past several weeks, I've had a Galaxy Ace, Ace 2 and Mini 2, and never had this problem before. My brother has an S5 Mini, and we have the same 32GB sd model, and he has no problems with his phone. So it's not the memory card. I watch a lot of movies and stream a lot of tv shows, when I'm home and when I commute.
i have a lg vu which i need to replace which i like for video playback when files are in the memory card, not so much with Internet which usually looks bad.
overall, i was happy with the vu and all the hacks that allowed it to look like a htc, or iphone or pretty much anything.it is not acting up so i need to replace it and the impressions is catching my attention.
is the video quality good...compared to an iphone for example, where does it stand in video quality playback?
I recorded a few videos on my iPhone 3GS this afternoon. When I played them back they were all working. However, a little while later (not more than a few minutes), I played back one video back and the sound has disappeared!
