I need to disable the touchscreen on my Blackberry Bold 9900 its rediculus all this product development and nobody at blackberry, muted call, put on hold and redilaled with there ear touching the touch screen? i dont like my new 9900 for that reason.
my bold 9900's touch screen isn't as responsive as my friends, it works perfectly fine but it doesn't if i touch it really softly. i just wanted to know if there is any problem
yesterday my phone switches off automatically at battery level 15, and today at battery level 25 the phone switches off again... Then at the moment I plug my charger cable into my phone (at battery level 15) it reboots and after the reboot the touchscreen no longer works. Then I upgraded Whatsapp and rebooted my phone again to see if it is fixed, but it still isn't the touchscreen simply doesn't work... It doesn't respond when I press on screen icon or scroll or whatever I do.
Is there any way to remove or disable notification bar on my 9900? The email and message icons show me when there is a new message so this thing is a waste of my screen space and time.
I have bought Blackberry bold 9900. I can use GPRS to sync the mail, calendar, browse internet and so on, but this is a little bit expensive and I have wifi at home so I want to use it instead of GPRSHow can I disable GPRS (so that I'm sure that the phone doesn't sync or use internet through it) and enable wifi so that the phone only can use this to avoid huge bill for cell phone? I understand, that I can't use BBM and some few other apps with wifi, but let say I want to check only my gmail account, browse internet at home on WIFI, send/receive sms and answer calls. If I disable "data services" in "mobile network" wifi stays connected, but I can't browse.
About the upcoming devices all featuring touchscreens, how about adding touchscreen enable/disable option ?For example, my company operates gas stations so I work with liquid hydrocarbons (gas, biodiesel, motor oil) and most of the time during the day I use the trackpad for phone calls and work apps like DocsToGo or BBM instead of a touchscreen because of its functionality and well, it won't become a mess if my hands are a little dirty, just like the touchscreen would. But during the night, hanging out with my friends or family, when sharing videos and photos, I'd love it if my BB 9700 running OS6 had a touchscreen (that's why I'd buy a Bold with a touchscreen), so I could have better media playing and internet browsing experience. Also, I've heard smartphone processors render faster when they are not handling touchscreens, so disabling it could give a merely functional experience while working (which is what most working people love about BlackBerry devices) and would save some battery life as well. Still, you could get the full social and media experience(which is what RIM is aiming at too with the upcoming devices) anytime by enabling it again.
On asha 300, incoming calls can be answered via the touchscreen. How do I disable this behaviour? When I dig out the phone from my pocket, I frequently accidentally drop the call because the phone does not require the swipe gesture before accepting touchscreen input for incoming calls! Is it possible to set the phone to always require the swipe gesture? If not, then is it possible to set it up so that only the physical buttons can answer/drop calls?
i'm stumped and looking for some help. So my password in enabled on 9700 but I can't disable it. Disable does not show up in scroll menu and all i can do is enter password and change password.
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.Details: A battery pull has not fixed my problem.I tried using another 9900 battery, however it did not work.My battery does not work on other 9900 devices. There are no signs of moisture, nor has there been contact with water. The LED light doesn't show, nor does anything on the screen.
Since this morning i experience the problem that when i switch my phone on i cannot use the touchscreen. No input is accepted. When i switch the phone off and remove the battery and then switch it on the problem dissapears...
I recently got a 9790 and it was working fine for about a month or so however recently I've noticed that the touch seems to stop responding. I have to do a physical battery pull and then it starts working again. I thought maybe it is a software issue and upgraded to the official 7.0.0.592 yesterday however the problem still remains the same.
My Blackberry Bold 9930 does not display the option to Enable or Hide the Qwerty Keyboard.I rebooted and checked Options > Typing and Language > Keyboard. The Keyboard Screen only displays Keypad Settings.
Key Tone: Key Rate: Currency Key:
The Enable Virtual Keyboard Hide Bar is not displayed here with a Checkbox!
Since this morning I am unable to open any notifications (whatsapp, bbm, facebook, etc) via the touchscreen! I must physically press the trackpad button to view all messages. Is it a setting that changed by itself? I only received this phone 2 weeks ago.
Only about 2 days ago I bought a new Blackberry Bold 9900 with Virgin Mobile and unfortunately I had it resting on a table when a dart landed on top of the screen while I was away. Sadly, now the screen is cracked in the upper left area and the touchscreen is completely irresponsive. I can still see everything on the screen and manuever using the buttons. Along with this, when I run my hand across the crack, I cannot even feel it, so the crack seems to be under the initial protective coating.
I have just upgraded to the new Bold 9930 and I'm experiencing intermittent issues with the touch screen where it appears to have a mind of its own. Specifically the cursor will randomly scroll up without user input. Sometimes it's a line or two but usually it's all the way back to the top of the content currently being displayed on the screen.
That is to say that I was doing something to make it happen like touching the screen with multiple fingers but I have observed the actions with absolutely no contact with the screen so it can't be inadvertent touching. Then I thought that it might be the screen protector I installed.
I use the Invisible Shield products by Zagg so I uninstalled the screen protector and carefully cleaned the screen with a microfiber cloth but it continues to randomly scroll. I have no apps installed other than what the phone came with and I have tried with and without a memory card installed but the random behavior continues.
Is there a way to disable the lock and mute buttons on the top of the BlackBerry Bold 9700? I just received my new windshield cradle that grips it from top and bottom, and the buttons are invariable pressed accidentally for a variety of reasons. Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?
I have 3 mail accounts connected to my bb. Originally all posted to one folder messages folder in the message 'center' where all the sms etc go into (middle of the screen icon at the top) i am not sure what has started to happen but suddenly i then had 2 messages folders and now i have 3. They all go to the same place and sometimes contain the same message which just appears in all 3.
I think this started when i started configuring the sync of the deletion of the folders "folder reconciliation". how i can delete these additional folders as they are just a nuicense they mean very little as mail is randomly flowing into them.
I had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.
How can I disable the Line 2 on the blackberry because I don't need them and sometimes I select it by default without take care of it and it's really annoying. (Cannot receive and make calls) Or how I can remove the dropdown menu in the call menu like that I cannot select the line 2..
Been a while since I posted on here but I just got my new 9700 last week. Is there anyway I can disable the top buttons? I listen to a lot of music and when the phone is in my pocket I keep muting the music by accident and its really annoying.Glad to be back! Been on a dumbphone for almost a year now but the 9700 is surpassing all my expectations!
Ok so really a bit frustrating there REALLY should be an option to turn on and off email accounts. Its kinda ridiculous that you have to go through a bunch of steps and jump through hoops the turn off an email account. Or just delete it. When Im at work I dont need to emails to go to the phone and I just end having to delete a bunch of them. Ok rant off heres my problem. I looked in the BB instruction to stop forwarding message to my phone and it told me how to do it. It says go into messages, then open the menu, go to options, email settings and tell the phone to stop forwarding emails. Problem is I don't have that option. Whats the deal?By the way I tried to get into my BIS account online and it said It wasn't available and I had to access settings on the phones.
I am with Rogers and My contract was coming to an end. So 2 weeks ago I called them for a "price match" with TELUS or bell. and they agreed to it. Few hours after setting up my new plan, i noticed that my Wi-Fi symbol is not lit up however it does show the SSID at the top of my home screen as if I am connected to the Wi-Fi Network.I know My Wi-Fi was working before the contract upgrade. and i have tested with 3 different Wi-Fi networks that I was able to connect previously.
I am running 5.0.0.681. At the time of my Contract upgrade I was running .509 so I thought if I upgraded it might work but didn’t.Is it possible that Rogers blocked my Wi-Fi? Would a carrier have the ability to do this remotely?
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9930 from and by Verizon...I'm going over seas and will need to use another SIM card in it... I've put another SIM cardbooted it OR placed any other NEW SIM card it - it gives me the attached Blackberry ID sign in screen!!!it fails to authenticate me - because it needs the _internet_(because if I boot up with my original SIM card and enable WiFi and boot with any other SIM card - only then it's able to authenticate me... with same pass and etc...this is odd and actually crazy... it relies on the internet to give me access to the phone - if I'm in a middle of an undeveloped country no 3G or WiFi - and need to reboot / use another SIM etc... how does it expect me to authenticate!?and even more I am worried that even if I wipe ... and restore to factory - I will end up being presented with this sign in screen...I've tried to remove the BlackBerry ID in options - but can't see a way to do it...is it OS 7 issue?is it the AppWorld 3 issue? should I remove it? should I uninstall it?what do you think will happen if I enter the wrong sign in password 11 times?what ever it is - there must be some sort of a work around.
I have followed the steps to disable the content protection. But, I still cannot download any apps from the web to the phone. I get the same ol' message that I have to disable the content protection!
