My brand new BB Bold 9780 freezes when I answer the phone.I then have to take battery out and re-start etc. Have deleted all unused apps, haven't uploaded any new ones, have upgraded OS6 etc.Does anyone know what else I can do?Bought it in brand new (sealed box) off Ebay so what are my warranty options?
View 2 RepliesI updated my E55 software to the latest one and now if a call comes in, the phone sometimes just freezes, no button responds and I cannot answer the call !
Is there any possibility to revert software back to older version ?

Also please fix the phonebook bug , if one name has several numbers , I cannot call either of them , it just cancels it.
My phone works perfectly except I can't answer calls, when I press answer/ignore it freezes until it goes to voicemail and then comes back. I've flashed multiple roms and had the problem with all of them. I'm not using any special themes or anything, and the only software I ever install are HD Tweak and Finger Keyboard 2.1 and my radio 1.14.25.24. Here's a list of what I've done since I had the phone:
1. Bought phone. Flashed HSPL. Flashed Laurentius L26, no problems. Was being lazy so I didn't hard reset after flashing.
2. Flashed Dutty R14. Didn't hard reset after flashing. No problems for awhile and then the problem of not being able to answer calls appeared.
3. Flashed EnergyRom wm6.5 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
4. Flashed Dutty 3.9XT wm6.1 rom. Hard reset twice after. Still having problem where I can't answer calls.
If anyone can help me figure out why my phone is doing this I'd really appreciate it, I'll even pay you some money on PayPal if you like because I really want to fix it. Here are some ideas I had as to why it's not working:
- Problem with rom flash. No, because I tried it with 3 different roms so far and had the same problem.
- Touch HD isn't fast enough to run wm6.5 and be stable. No, because I tried it with a wm6.1 rom too and had the same problem.
- Someone suggested it might be a problem with the battery. No, because I ordered new replacement batteries and tried them and had the same problem.
- Some of the settings in HD Tweak are incompatible with something in the roms I'm using. Maybe, is this possible? I don't really change much, just the softkeys and the highlight color and things like that.
- Screwed up something in the SPL or something because I didn't hard reset after flashing the first 2 roms. Maybe, is this possible?
- Dropped my phone and somehow managed to break nothing but the mechanism involved in answering calls. Maybe, is this possible?
Today I'm going to reflash HSPL, flash the stock HTC rom, hard reset twice, and see if I still have the problem. I don't know what else to do or what other possibilities there are. If anyone can shed some light on this issue, that would be great, because I really don't want to have to buy a new phone.
I have just installed the latest update for my Bold 9780 from the Blackberry site. The version now shows 6.0, bundle 2647. I do now encounter a problem. When I access the email setup the device freezes and I can't exit that page anymore. The device has to be turned off, then back on. I did not have this problem prior to the update. Everything else appears okay.I am on the German Telekom network.

Even when I receive an overseas sms and I want to reply, when I click on the SEND button, my phone will freeze and I will have to restart my phone and once it restarts this message will always come << uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(145) is not responding; process terminated >>. What does that mean? The phone is originally from telus but I unlocked it and now am with koodo and the monthly plan I took with koodo allows me to send unlimited overseas text messages, so now its like am paying for a service I cant use! I called koodo and they said there system works perfectly.

Updated a 9780 from 5.0 to 6.0 and now phone won't turn on. Red light comes on and keypad lights up but no screen.Did a search and checked the uploader file. There was not any files left to load. Removing and reinstalling battery does not help. Tried reloading 6.0 and still nothing.Desktop software recognizes phone and has all data from phone.

I cannot pick up the calls and sometime can't read the msg received. I need to do power reset by take out the battery for 10 second.. And reboot.. Its will back to normal.. But.. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.

The only way to get the phone to operate is to remove the battery and to replace it for the phone to start up again.This allows you to operate the phone until it goes dark again. IN the last 2 months i will go to call someone and the phone is silent(No ringing or voice from the other person). So i started pushing keys on my phone to see if i could hear that and i have come to notice that if i hit "#" all of the sudden it starts ringing or the persons voice is there on the other end. They can hear me the whole time but I cannot hear them. When it starts doing this silent thing I am able to hit the # key for about the 1st 2 phone calls then it does not work what so ever. The other person can hear me but I can hear nothing. I then have to take my battery out and restart my phone and it will work for a few hours or maybe a day but then does the same thing again.

If device is not locked - the name of a caller appears along with the #.This is very uncomfortable, because I do not remember the # of all the people in my address book, so when there is no name - I don't know who is calling.

The phone will ring, but often when I pull it out of my pocket it the screen stays black and doesn't have an option to answer. I have to open this text message or it will remind every 5 mins (a feature I like for other text messages). The text tells me the answer phone number (121, vodafone UK) but this number is not a clickable link. I therefore have to close the text message and open the dialer and phone 121 (or hold 1 key). Is there a way to launch the dialer from the text message (for example forcing it to create a link for the 121 number)?

But, if I'm texting at the time, although I can see the call notification I can't respond to it and the buttons disappear from the bottom of the screen. The slide down options from the top of the screen also disappear. The phone just freezes and I have to restart the phone every time. I don't know if it's doing this with other apps, or whether it's just the messaging app.
