Feb 19, 2010I have read some solutions about the problem of having the SMS one thread issue, but I really have a different problem.My incoming SMS, comes under different person name, as Example when I have to SMSs from two Users User (A) and User (B), the sms sent from user (A) shows up in the thread of User (B) which is a big mess.
More over when I choose options >> View Folders >> SMS Inbox Then I can see the real sender of the SMS but still when I press open or delete, I can't do anything

Jan 19, 2010i got a blackberry bold 9700 for christmas and i've been having only one problem with the phone. Sometimes when I've been having a conversation, through sms text messages, with someone I will be randomly unable to open a newly received sms text message and cannot open it for a while. I got it checked and they gave me a new phone, and this one is doing the same thing. Sometimes i can't open it for 10 mins and then sometimes i have to delete it because it's been over 2 hours. this is getting really annoying and more and more frequent. does anyone know what i should do? cause the bell people dont even know.

May 24, 2010I've just upgraded my Blackberry 9700 to firmware 5.0.0.593. I noticed the Auto Standby 2.4.1 utility that locks the keyboard after 30 seconds doesn't function anymore. An automatic keyboard lock is a very basic functionality for every phone and it would be good if it can be reinstated in a future firmware release. I'm now using Ultimate Lock but this can't be activated by the top-left lock button. I'm also a fan of the Bedside mode as it prevents the LED from blinking at night and switches profiles automatically when you put it in the charging pod. Is there a way to prevent the clock from being displayed while the phone is charging in bedside mode? I've already set "Dim Screen" to Yes but it still lights up the room.

When I try to hide all they drop but leave the top 2 rows showing. they all pop up as expected when commanded to so it must be some software glitch?

Jan 10, 2010I had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! I havent had the phone 2 weeks yet.Now i think that i need to call o2 again and ask them something like releasing my old pin maybe from my bis account or resetting the bis account,any ideas what i should do or the type of questions i need to ask o2 if i have to ring them again.

Jan 14, 2010I have a Bold 9700 recently bought about 4 days ago... At first all the communication channels works fine i.e. Mobile Network, Wifi and Bluetooth. Suddenly this morning the wifi stop working. I'm unable to switch the wifi on even clicking on it many times. Tried to turn off the device and remove the battery for about a minute and still the problem is not solved.

However this seems to not show ANY notification in the status bar that there is an unopened text waiting. Jan 11, 2010I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have an unread message indicator (little yellow envelope +3) on my screen, but I don't have any unread messages in my list.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. Typed "u" to search for unread messages and it tells me that I have no unread messages.
2. I went into my email and selected "mark prior unopened" and still nothing.
3. I've tried to restart the phone the phone. When I do, I end up with even more unread messages that I have to select -- over and over again! I can always get it back down to 3, but no fewer.
4. The date and time on my phone appears to be correct.
5. I have no "saved" messages on my phone.
6. I have no new or saved voicemail on my phone.

Feb 2, 2010I've tried and tried to solve this - if anyone can help then that would be fab.On my BB Bold 9700 I've got too many message icons.I've got one for my work email - useful...One for my SMS and MMS - useful.One for my personal email - useful.And one stupid one that wants to group all the messages into one place and mix then up and notify me (even though the other ones already notify me) etc etc.

Feb 24, 2010Recently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.

Jul 16, 2010I recently got my Blackberry Bold 9700 and I used to use crunchsms on my Blackberry Curve 8520 so I didn't mind the message indicator whenever I got an email because crunchsms had it's own message indicator. I now realize that whenever I receive a text and email it results to the same message indicator. I have done: Messages > Options > Inbox Settings and have unclicked my email account so that the message inbox remain separate. I don't understand how I have the latest OS version yet have to deal with this. Is there someone who can help? Or is there a theme that I can download that separates the sms/mms and email complete so that I may get two entire different message notifications?

I've deleted all messages, texts, phone calls etc., icon is still there. AT&T, nor the blackberry store seems to have a solution. Jun 14, 2010For the past few days my blackberry has said i have an unread bbm message then yesterday it started to say I have 2. I`ve tried taking out the battery deleting all chats and messages on my phone and also deleting bbm all together and even when i did this it still said I had the unread messages. I have no group updates nor have I synced a blackberry messenger contact with an existing phonebook contact. The only thing I think it may be is someone I`ve deleted trying to contact be but I`ve removed all deleted contacts from my ignored list so why arn`t the chats showing up?
