if anyone knows how to hide videos on the bold 9700, will you please try and help me with this. ps. its nothing dirty, its just so if my phone gets stolen, no one will be viewing my videos, etc.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my Blackberry 9700 to firmware 5.0.0.593. I noticed the Auto Standby 2.4.1 utility that locks the keyboard after 30 seconds doesn't function anymore. An automatic keyboard lock is a very basic functionality for every phone and it would be good if it can be reinstated in a future firmware release. I'm now using Ultimate Lock but this can't be activated by the top-left lock button. I'm also a fan of the Bedside mode as it prevents the LED from blinking at night and switches profiles automatically when you put it in the charging pod. Is there a way to prevent the clock from being displayed while the phone is charging in bedside mode? I've already set "Dim Screen" to Yes but it still lights up the room.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my 9700 and I donīt really know if it is the phone or the battery.It shuts down when I use an aplication that needs power, like recording videos, websurfing, downloading/installing apps thats sort of stuff. It goes off, and I have to pull batt to get it started again.If I do it 3 times in a row for example, the battery goes down from 100% to 70% in just the time it needs to restart those 3 times.I tried to do a security wipe, reinstall the os (.862), taking out the micro sd and it keeps shuting down. I donīt know if it could be a battery problem or the phone. any idea?

Tutorial
1) Go to the media folder
2) BBMenu > Click on Explore
3) Select "Media Card" (or device memory, depending where u have videos you want to hide)
4) Select BlackBerry
5) Select Videos
6) Select the video you want to hide
7) BBMenu > Properties
8) Check the "Hidden" checkbox > close
9) To unhide > bbmenu > show hidden > select video > repeat 7-8

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got a new BB 9700. My younger brother had uploaded porn videos in my phone. Later, I deleted them. However, the name of these videos still appear in my playlist.If I say delete a particular item, I get a message: Are you sure you want to delete "XXX"? When I say press on delete icon, nothing happens.I am avoiding formatting the card as I don't want to mess around wth the segregated folder present by default.I have already tried the following things:
1) Pulled the battery and put it back.
2) Pulled out the media card and put it back.
3) Connect it to the computer and see if the videos show up. They do not.
I'm waiting to get the 9900. My question is how do I transfer my pictures and videos from my 9700 onto my 9900. I have backed up all other data on BB PROTECT,,but that doesn't back up Picts and videos

If it wasn't for the site saying look at the video below I wouldn't even know that one exists. I can't see why the videos won't show as generally they are you tube videos anyway.

The handset sounds all work perfectly fine. I checked all settings, all profiles EVERYTHING!
Tried taking out the battery did not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.
i have a data plan and i'm able to browse to just about any website and use it. but watching a video on Internet doesn't work.i can go to Internet, see the video thumbnails, but when i wanna play one i always get this message "wireless network connection has been disconnected. please try again."
note that watching Internet videos works fine when i am on my home wifi router. the problem is when i am out using the 3g.btw my apn settings are correct: telus.bb.com.the odd thing is that it worked a couple weeks ago. so what's the deal?
I have tried everything to try and resolve my issues but have not been able to do so.
First, I accidently hid a picture by checking the 'hide' field. Now how do you get it back?! I've had a couple of my friends with the same phone try and figure it out and they havent been able to.Secondly, when I choose a picture to be my wallpaper, it shows in a zoomed in version of the top left corner of the picture. I do recall when I was choosing the picture to set as my wallpaper, that I zoomed in on it before setting it, but used the 'back' key to remove the zoom feature. It appeared ok on the screen but set the wallpaper as the zoomed in picture. Now it doesn't matter which picture I choose, I get on the top left side, zoomed in showing up on my wallpaper. - even though it appears normal before setting it.
Every time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?
This issue has been happning for a while, but for the last week or so it has been happening more frequently. A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.

Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI often hear many people complaining or wanting to have the Bold 9650 look like the Bold 9700. I found this picture of the Tour 2 9650 splitting with the 9700 Bold to show the differences between of the Bold 9650 if it stays the same without changes, this is what the difference would be compared to the Bold 9700.as you can see, the only difference if the Bold 9650 stays the same as we see here when the final release comes, is that the Bold 9650 has a somewhat larger bezel VS the 9700 Bold. Other then that, you can see from the pic, nothing else is different on the face of the phones in looks.just thought it was pretty interesting(left side is the 9650, right side is the 9700.
