I use an unlocked Storm on T-Mobile. Because it was originally a Verizon phone, it's got VZ Navigator, which I like. My wife has a 9700 for T-Mobile, and I'd like to put VZ Navigator on her phone. Can I use the backup/restore method for that purpose? Can I backup what's on my phone, then "restore" to hers?

I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.

Has been working perfectly for the last 2 months. Haven't changed anything.
Using the standard browser on my Bold 9700, when I try and do a Google search, or when I look at most pages, the page doesn't load at all. When I refresh it a few times or change between column and regular view some of the page shows up sometimes, but not all of it. I've had my BlackBerry since about a month ago and the problem just started last night.
I've done the battery pull several times, and I've cleared the cache a lot. Problem still persists. Opera meanwhile can load any page.
I don't know of any other fixes, so, is there maybe a way I can reinstall the BlackBerry browser? I would really prefer to use it instead of Opera.
I've only had my bold a couple of months and all has been working great. However I've woken up this morning to find it has rebooted itself and it was stuck on the loading screen about 3/4 loaded. I've done a battery pull twice and it still gets stuck at the same place. Help!
My phone keeps hanging up on the loading page when I turn it on. It reaches at 3/4 the line and then stops there. I have tried taking out the battery and restarting it but it does not work. I even tried to connect it to my computer but it does not read the device.

The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on!When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.

I downloaded a few apps and all of a sudden it started showing the little loading clock on almost everything I ran, so I deleted a few apps and voala!. It was working good again. I tried to restore some contacts from a prev backup and now all the sudden my email functionality is messed up. I have it linked to my GMAIL acct. Things I noticed since that contact backup is now when i go to delete a message, it will not prompt to delete from device only or device and inbox Also I can hit reply on some, but when I go to send, there is no send option. And lastly when I delete from my phone, it does not mark as read or delete from my inbox. i checked all the settings I can find. But nothing changed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 will not back up (via BB Desktop) and will not, as a result, upgrade to the latest version of OS6.It starts off OK, but by halfway through it says there is a problem and that BB Desktop is disconnecting. Only this just leaves the phone hung and all I can do to get the phone back is a battery pull.I have a Bold 9900 coming tomorrow, so unless i get this fixed I am going to have problems upgrading to the new Bold.

I have a BB Bold 9700. My service provider is Telstra (Australia). And before you ask, no, a few battery pulls didn't fix my situation.My "4/S" button on my bold has turned super sensitive. if you breathe the wrong way - your text/screen will be filled will dozens of little "s" on the rampage. For example, if you type in the question "How are you today?" it will come up as, "ssshsow assrsse you tosssdssasssy?"As this is a hardware problem with my phone and as I am at the end of my contract, I am quite content to purchase a new phone.
However, due to the "s' button repeating like a bunny and my being half asleep when i checked my phone last night and accidently turning it OFF - I can not enter in my pin number nor my puk number into my phone. (the numbers come up as stars so I can't see which is the number I wish to enter over forty-seven thousand little 4s insinutating their way in.
Typing in the 4 numbers of my pin comes up as "********************"
Tying in the 8 numbers of my PUK comes up as "*******************************************************************"
The keyboard being broken is neither here nor there but I am explaing this to illustrate my dilemma.
(1) is it possible to somehow fiddle something so I can actually see the numbers instead of stars when I enter in my pin and puk code so I am able to delete the "4/s" when they occur and be able to open my phone and then do a backup or
(2) Is it possible to do a back up or unlock the phone using the computer while my phone is now asking for the PUK?
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I have lost ~20 pictures I took during my family's 4th of July event this weekend. It was the first time they have met my 17 month old daughter. Normally I wouldn't sweat loosing pictures, but these are very important to me.It restored every picture up until the backup I did before I left Sunday morning. Through Media Manager I see the culprit is a bunch of backup files, including a file called ArcNB.NBZ (this file alone is 1.5 GB). Anyone know why this is on here? Can I safely delete it along with other backup files?
