Jul 14, 2010I had to sell my phone so i made a back up file with desktop manager. Is it now possible to extract the contacts from that file?

Jan 22, 2010Just had all my contacts transferred from old phone to new phone but when I sync using desktop it doesn't put them in my outlook contacts.

Jan 13, 2010I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.

Aug 25, 2010The contacts in outlook have only my new contact info (1 contact) and the desktop and wireless software want to synchronize with this folder. The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?

Every time I try to synchronize, I get the error message: During synchronization, some the records were invalid. The following 2 records were skipped: Address Book: Device - 0, Microsoft Outlook - 2 Do you want to view the synchronization log for more detail? The sync stops and does not sync all my contact info to my Blackberry.

Apr 2, 2010I am trying to sync my Bold 9700 with outlook contacts. I have been able to sync the calender and memo pad BUT only 71 of my 345 contacts. It stops at 71 with a big red cross and gives me an error message 0x80040f63. My previous Blackberry sync was fine and I have downloaded version 5 of Blackberry Manager so it seems all up to date

Jun 22, 2010I'm done banging my head against a wall and have searched and searched on how to fix this, as although I'm a newbie to this site, I feel like I can generally navigate myself around my BB to fix issues here and there. This one, I cannot, for the life of me! Here's the situation: I had to wipe my entire BB Bold the other day. I did that successful, reloaded all my settings/applications and all was well and good, including syncing my Calendar and Contacts. I realized that my contacts were double, triple and sometimes quadropled during the syncing process, thus having the duplicates on both my device and Outlook. Not to mention, totally reconfigured my "File As" in my Outlook - but that's another topic. Issue at hand, after turning the Wireless Syncronization OFF, checking my Default services and following any advice here on the forums. I now can't get ANY of my contacts to sync from Outlook to my device. Except 2 random contacts. When I go to sync, it registers the address book and asks if I want to delete 8XX contacts from Outlook to Device, which I DON't!Anyway, long winded.

Jan 15, 2010I have just purchased a Bold 9700, and everything is working fine except syncing the contacts from Outlook.
I am also syncing the Calender, which works fine, but when I sync the contacts also, I get the following error message ox80040Fb3
I have the latest software verson of the Blackberry User Tools, and I have tried un-installing and re-installing again, but the same error comes up.
If I only sync the contacts from the phone to Outlook then this works, but I cannot sync both ways or from Outlook to the phone. My last phone was a Blackberry Pearl, which I had no problems syncing with Outlook. The Blackberry User Tools Version for the Pearl was Version 4.3, which I re-installed and tried that, but I still got the same error.
I'm thinking it must be a problem with the software on the phone, as the problem didn't happen with my other Blackberry, and it's happening with both versions of software.
I am using Vista Home Premium, with Office XP. Does anyone have any ideas?
BB Bold 9700 :: Get Back My Old Contacts List From A Previous Backup
Apr 3, 2010I just downloaded the new OS, and for some reason my contacts got messed up.
Some contacts were tripled, and doubled, some numbers were moved to different contacts, or deleted.
Is there a simple, or any kind of way to get back my old contacts list from a previous backup, while at the same time keeping the new OS, and replacing only this contact list?
BB Bold 9700 :: How Well Does Phone Work With BIS (not BES) And Outlook?
Aug 2, 2010I have been a crackberry user since 1999.I have also been on my corporate Blackberry server for as long as I can remember so I am used to everything being wireless and integrated.Well, the company I am going to does not have the BB server. They do have Outlook Web so I know I can setup my 9700 to "connect" via the OWA service using BIS. My question is for those who do this in a "corporate" environment...
*How well does the Calendar syncing work? Can I really Accept the invite in my BB and then find it properly sync to my calendar when I plug in?
*I am assuming that I won't have the "read message reconciliation" available so is it true I won't have a copy of my Sent Mail from my BB in Outlook when I go back to my desk?
*Back to the calendar, if I accept the invite from my BB, I assume the invite is still in my Outlook Inbox in an "un-accepted" state. Any issues here with accepting it a second time?
*I assume Contacts will sync (not as big a deal)
The company told me "most of the users have an iPhone" and I know iPhone works (no wonder everone I interviewed with had one...). I am just not sure I want to go there. So I am looking for insight from the community before I give up my 10-year passion for the BB and go to an iPhone ((shudder)).
BB Bold 9700 :: Phone Wont Sync Calendar With Outlook 2007
Jul 25, 2010I just recently changed my phone from Bold 9000 to Bold 9700. Using Desktop Manager 5.0.1.37 and on Vista sp2 and Outlook 2007. I used to be able to sync perfectly ok with my Bold 9000, and since I changed my phone to Bold 9700, it wont sync my calendar - as if it skips the calendar completely. I've tried a number of suggestions from this forum including deleting the intellisync folder and resetting the sync setup, hard resetting the phone, and nothing works. I'm running out of ideas.

Sep 3, 2010I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.

Apr 4, 2010I've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?
BB Bold 9700 :: Backup Error - Received Message DM Could Not Backup One Theme
Jun 16, 2010I did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.

May 18, 2012It wiped my old calendar entries (even though I have "Keep Forever" selected on the options), but I need all the past calendar items because I used it for keeping track of meetings, events, etc.Short of reinstalling an old backup, copying into Outlook, and then re-installing my current version, is there any other way of getting that info out of the backup file and into Outlook. I really don't want to install a previous version of the backup onto my phone because when I do, it never carries over many of the phone ringing settings, etc. and it takes me forever to get things back to normal.(I am running an older version of the device software on my phone (5.0.0.714) because I can't stand the new version's calendar view.)

Jul 20, 2010When will Blackberry Desktop Manager be able to sync with MS Outlook 2010? I spent £100 on the latter yesterday after discovering that Windows Calendar can not be synchronised with my new Bold 9700: the sync process ends with a Microsoft Outlook Connector Error message: "No available message stores". Burrowing into Blackberry's on-line support, it seems the most likely cause is BDM - 5.0.1 - trying to connect to an unsupported version of Outlook. (Article ID KB15564).
The result is no contacts or diary on my expensive new smartphone, which is disappointing beyond belief, since Outlook 2007 etc. seems no longer available.

Jan 27, 2010I am using two web based email providers, gmail and directbox.com. All my new emails go directly to my 9700, but not all of them go to my outlook. It seems like only unread emails go to my outlook, but then again, sometimes I also get emails to outlook after I have read them on my 9700. I want to receive ALL my emails in outlook, regardless if I have read them already or not.
