I upgraded my phone with the newer software (available from the Sticky above) and am hating it. My "send/share" feature doesn't work on pics, the phone has been running slow, internet has been touchy, and a whole host of other dislikes. Can I DOWNGRADE my software? Or am I stuck?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI accidently upgraded my phone to os 6.0, because I thought I was upgrading blackberry software for my pc, but in the process it changed my phone os to something else because it was still connected with usb cable to my pc. I personally enjoyed the simplicity of os 5.0 and would be very happy if someone could explain how I can downgrade it back to os 5.0 from os 6.0. I did call T-Mobile and they could not help me, so if you know something I should do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have unknowingly upgraded by BB9700 software from OS 5 to OS 6 and it has screwed up my phone entirely..Its soooo slow and keeps hanging....Even the device memory is Low (14 mb) post upgrade...I wanna revert to OS 5....I am using a MAC (v 10.6.8) and have researchd the net and the various forums but could not find any solutions for MAC users....I am using the BB desktop software and thats where i upgraded the OS....Also how does one free up the device memory? I keep deleting old mails / pics / msgs / cache / history / media files etc....Is there any other way to free up device memory? Also how does one save downloaded applications from BB App world to media card instead of device memory?

Even if there is not additional application in the device it hangs frequently.Many people have shared in their post regarding this issue. It says we first have to wipe the device and install os5. But when I installing os on my device it does not give me an option of os5. It says new update available os6.Where can I find os5?

On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was getting drops out on calls with 862 so I decided to back to 714 and as usual I dont back up my data as it always does it automatically during the downgrade or upgrade process.This time, I had my email accounts restored but not the actual emails. My contacts have been lost, but the apps and themes are still there.
So I tried restoring my contacts from a backup that I took on the 27th of August but here is the message I get when I try to do the Restoration was an error restoring.There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the dvice is turned on and connected.I tried restarting my computer and doing a battery pull but no luck and it is the same cable and port I always use...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI found out how to lock the keypad on the 9700 after this new screwy update to the 9700.To lock keypad press and hold "A" for 1-2 seconds or push the "lock button" at top left edge of phone.To unlock the keypad go to the very top left corner ridge on the very top of the phone and press the "lock" button.Will take some getting used to but will prevent unwanted calls while holstered or in purse.The best way I found to lock keypad without a password.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just had to have my 9700 Bold replaced due to random rebooting, then it would not fully reboot. I had BBM 5.0 on it. I just got my replacement (it's running OS 5) and it has BBM 4.7 on it. I downloaded & installed BBM 5.0 but while in my app loader to load some apps I see that 5.0 does not show up (as it did on my last 9700) and it wants to downgrade 4.7 so I assume it means it wants to get rid of 5.0 & go to 4.7.will 5.0 work on my employee's 8320's?

I don't even get an error, the msg just stays open with sending. I try again with a picture i took a few days ago and it goes through, i try a different picture i downloaded from the web and it's a no go.......

When I choose Compose sms, then choose a contact or type in a number, the chat window always appear with the same contact. And I don't seem to be able to send txts to any other one..I tryied a soft and a hard reset with no effect.

Living 5 mins. away from RIM in Waterloo I got myself a BB Bold 9700 2 weeks ago. Dataplan and everything from Rogers. Much to my aggravation I'm unable to send photos via MMS - I'm sure I'm doing it right as I followed the instructions while on the phone w. the IT BB specialist at the University of Waterloo. I was able to send a photo to her but to nobody else which includes a BB user neighbour, my son on Telus in Vancouver, a friend w. a Bell plan on a Palm. What gives? I could send a photo lickety split on my previous Motorola and I didn't even have a data plan. I'm sooooo frustrated. I tried to send the MMS with the photo in the "small" picture setting.

I can send sms messages aswell but it doesn't actually show as sent it just stays in the typing box at the bottom of the message.I know the messages are sending and be received because i sent a message to a work friend and he received it fine. He then replied and the message was shown as sent but i still have not received it.I have tried the battery reboot twice and still nothing. I have checked the message center and it's correct. This problem started 3 days ago. Before that, SMS is working fine. I haven't done anything special 3 days ago, and really clueless about this. Early this day, I tried to put my sim card to other phone, and it can send SMS. Put it back to my bb 9700 and this problem started again.

Wipes make no difference, neither does upgrading/un-downloading the software.
I have had my first ever Blackberry for a few weeks now and am hooked on BB's for life. The only problem I have with my Bold 9700 is this; I have 2 email address sert up on my BB. I receive emails that are sent and can reply to emails that I receive. I can add an email address and type out the email but there is no send option. I have tried everything to see if I can alter this but no luck. Any advice anyone?
