I have sent my old iPhone3gs to a friend abroad. When they put their local SIM card inside, the Network shows Not Available, Carrier shows Not Available, My Number shows Unknown.I suspect the phone is locked to a UK provider. How do I get them to change this?

Since upgrading to Gingerbread, I've noticed the following behavior in the notification bar. Sometimes the cellular signal icon, the 3G icon, and the wifi signal icon are blue in color; other times they are white. Do these changes in color mean anything?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone is always changing the signal quality on it. The top of the information area will turn from green to grey to nothing over and over again. If i place or receive a call within a few minutes it drops with no record of the call. The internet is the same i will have 4g service and then it will crawl. I have to keep the phone still to maintain the signal. if i even move my hand the signal is gone.I know it is not sprint cause my wife has a diffent phone and it works perfectly she is chatting away on it all day never had a signal issue. went the spint salesman and he didnt understand why it was doing that. It dropped a call right in the store.I am on the sprint network, I have updated my profile and all the updates are complete. All the salesman suggested is that I do a factory reset and lose everything on the phone. I dont want to lose some games i paid for. If i have to do the reset is there a way to backup my games and how would i reteive them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI live in an area that has no ATT service or any other service yet I use an iphone 4 with ATT service. My husband uses a T-mobile Android and while neither of us receive any cell signal, when our WIFI is on, my husband can receive and make phone calls with his cell phone. I on the other hand have not been able to figure out how the iphone may be able function in a similar way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor today I have not had a signal at all in my house. I have never had a problem before with my Tour but today has been the worst. I cannot receive or make calls, send or receive emails or text messages. I have reset everything and even did the *228 thing but nothing. I have to drive around the block to make a phone call. Any advice for me besides throwing it out the window?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I got back home and switched on my phone when the plane landed, up until now I still can't receive H+ signal. I was using H+ rather than 4G because it is still more widespread, but now I can't received any. How can I sort this out?
View 7 Replies View RelatedA day ago i came through a issue with my nexus, as i connected my charger to the phone, the phone went into a bootloop and wouldnt get into recovery, fastboot, bootloader mode the fix i found on some thread on xda was to remove the back panel and then reattach the battery circuits. This worked exactly as described the phone booted properly.
But since then my nexus wasnt switching to 3G signal, i wasnt sure if it was my sim/operator failing to provide signals, finally after a whole day returning from job i realized that its my nexus thats not connecting to 3g and not the sim operator as i tried using my sim on my mothers phone.
I couldnt find any fixes on the internet and so I went through the internal hardware specifications and from ifixit i learned that reconnecting the antenna wires solved the issue for me.
Signal Bar is full but cannot make or receive calls , when dialing out "connection error" comes , If dialing the number it comes as switched off ....The phone needs to be restarted every time this happens , happens every day atleast once , attempted a factory restore , still the same issue ......Using the same unit for more than a year , now the issue cropped up after the Belle update only.....
View 1 Replies View RelatedChanging the SD Card without lose anything...?I had the 8GB card that comes with the Xperia Pro, but I need more space to put my music and stuff. So I'm about to buy a Class 4 Kingston SDcard. But I'm not quite sure of the proper way to change my data from the old card to the new one, considering that I had some apps installed in the SD card.
View 9 Replies View RelatedLast year I bought an E71 as part of a 24 month contract. Recently, my sister and I swapped phones and kept our respective sim cards (which are on the same network provider), my former phone accepts the sim card and she is able to send and recieve texts, and phone calls. The problem being that when she tries to make calls (from my former phone) there sometimes is no dial tone. I was told that the phone had saved data from my sim card and needed to be reformatted, is this the case?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just changed a sim card (though retained the same number) and now cannot access the BB gateway/internet.I was advised to do a registration thing - options - device - advanced setting - host routing - and press registration.Did that more than 2 hours ago and see no changes.I have on and off a number of times (including removing the battery).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my sim card and when I went to set up my email accounts they were already listed and just needed to be validated. When I try validating it a notice says: "Sorry, unable to continue your session, log in again".I am from South Africa and on the MTN network also I was changing from a MTN prepaid sim to a contract one. I've swapped sims like this before and have never had such a problem until now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the micro sd card out to a 32gb to enable a more serious approach to gaming etc. However, since doing that I have not been able to get any of the gameloft games to download and install correctly. The existing game that I had previously will operate when I put in the older (Smaller) SD card. Photos and music transferred over, but not with the correct file path. Therefore they con not be viewed. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work it out, previous discussion threads have not correctly outlined the procedure. Having the expandable memory is designed to make this phone more marketable. Not telling people how to do it makes the phone significantly less marketable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been facing great problems in turning on my Bold 9700 mobile. I just changed the sim card and from then the cell is not turning on. Whenever it stars to turn on after a few seconds it restarts, then again the actions replay. I can't even charge it as it keeps turning on and restarting again and again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to change the location of the downloaded applications from the phone memory to the memory card? I was told that it goes directly to the phone memory, with other phones you can choose the location or you can transfer the files' location.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor starters i love this handst but getting very annoyed by this fault I keep on having.Pretty much i am on my 3rd N900 as my last two kept on telling me to insert a sim card when there was one in there which worked with other phones and other sim cards did the same thing in the phone. Also it is always loosing the signal.usually a quick reset fixes this problem but now this phone won't pick it up at all. It has had no signal for 24 hours. Sim works in other phones and other simcards have the same problem in this phone.
I have changed from dual to gsm and 3g but still no luck. Carphonewarehouse says it is a antenee problem but this has happened to 3 of them!! Any ideas, as i am looking to swap it for the Nexus One which i don't really want to do but will be forced to if none of you have a fix.
After updating my Z2 (D6503) to Lollipop I got 'Invalid card' and no mobile signal, once in 1-2 days. After rebooting the phone everything is fine but just for 1-2 days. I've tired factory reset and pc companion repair but without success.

I live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
Anybody else having this problem?
