View 4 RepliesSo, I went to check if there was a new OS update. There was, so I downloaded and am currently installing it. However, it's been "installing" for 8 hours now, and it's stuck on 14% Overall backup progress. And 0% Social Feeds.Also, not sure if it's related. (probably is) but my Signal is off and i have no network connection. And I've got good coverage usually at home. I realised the problem about 7 hours in, after it said it would only be 2. So I battery pulled it, and it didn't work, then I tried battery and sim pulling, that didn't work. I've tried hooking it up to my blackberry desktop. It can't pick the device up because of it.

I am in continuous loop resulting in the apple on screen with 1/4 full progress bar following phone going through the full restore process, and trying to backup from iTunes. I have used both Recovery and DUF mode a number of times. I have also recovered all my files using both Wondershare and Tenorshare. Over the past 16 hours I have probably hard reset 100+ times. RecBoot 'exit recovery' has failed the 3 times I have tried, and TinyUmbrella gives a 'product configuration is missing' error message when I try to run it.
Should I try 'new phone setup' rather than restore from iTunes files?

My iPhone 4S refuses to WiFi sync (automatically or manually) because it seems that it cannot locate my iMac. Everytime I try to manually sync over WiFi by going to Settings/General/iTunes WiFi Sync, I can press the button -- IT IS NOT GREYED OUT -- but the sync constantly says "LOOKING FOR iMac and then timesout. I cannot see the device in the iTunes sidebar unless I plug in via USB -- as soon as I unplug, my iPhone disappears. The oddest thing is, when I first got the phone, it worked perfectly -- and then it randomly stopped -- and has never worked again. Here's my setup:

The basics: Making sure the WiFi Sync box is checked. Made sure both devices are connected to the same WiFi network. Uncheking and re-checking the Wifi Sync box and re-syncing. Making sure that "Open iTunes when this device is connected" is checked. Made sure that "Prevent iDevices from syncing automatically" is unchecked. Restart all devices (i.e. iPhone, iMac, Airport). Hard Reset iPhone. I have also tried: Restoring the iPhone from a backup. Restoring the iPhone as a new device. Deleting all existing iPhone backups. Wiping the Airport Extreme and re-configuring. Using the "restart your Airport from your iPhone through Airport Utility" method that has been suggested. Hardcoding IP's for both my iMac and iPhone into the Airport Extreme. Disabiling wireless security on the Airport. Disabling Mac OS X firewall. Port forwarding the necessary ports. Uninstalling iTunes using the necessary terminal commands and reinstalling. Opening the ports Apple suggests in the WiFi Sync support article on both the Airport and the OS X firewall.
Some notes: I know my iPhone and iMac are aware of one another because the Sync Now button isn't greyed out. I can also PING my iPhone from my iMac using the Network Utility successfully. Two other family members have 4S's in my home on the same network that sync with Windows PC's without issue. Whatever this is, it's isolated to my iMac.

Hi, I have a N97 (all firmware up to latest) and my OVI maps has never worked (logs in but as soon as you use it it just closes the app). Sometimes when I end a call it just switches itself off and on again. I even had a case where the battery went flat and I charged it for a while but had to take it off of charge but for some reason the bar still kept on moving up like it was charging. In all honesty I've only had problems with my phone and am kinda regretting not getting a Iphone instead. Please help as this phone will be flying out my car window on the highway if this keeps going on.

UPDATE: could reset the iPhone and looks like it works, still don't know what happened during update and if everything is installed correctly. But for now looks like working ok.
After upgrading ios 5.1. I cannot update apps on iphone so I tried to solve this problem.... rebooting, all resetting, all network resetting etc. But I cannot handle this. When apps are being updated I can see waiting under icon but does not progress any more. Also I cannot delete apps waiting under icon on iphone and itunes. x mark does not appear on these apps but I can see x mark on other apps.

I was trying to update my phone to 5.1, and about 10 minutes in, the update stopped making any progress. I waited 20, maybe 30 more minutes, and then I tried resetting my phone. ITunes then said my phone was in recovery mode, so I needed to restore settings. Now it's stuck again, with less progress shown. What might be wrong?

My device shows the PC & BB icons as if its connected to the PC but when I open My computer, it isn't showed there? I havent disconnected it and scared it may have corrupted.

It finished downloading the large update file and went through the process of backing up my contents and after that I got an error message "Something went wrong" Next screen it tells me that "Your phone is restarting" (with a couple of warning messages) but I have been on this screen for at least 45 mins now without any progress. My phone is still behaving as per norm but I'm not sure about what to do next. It doesn't seem like it had started the process of updating my phone yet but I'm being given instructions not to touch the phone or even disconnect the cable.

Went through the wipe the phone process but when it goes to restore an load up the io5 its says error messages at the end. Everytime i connect it goes through the same process.I have disconnected antivirus and firewall ans still error messages. I have even loaded itunes onto a brand new laptop and tried to update and nothing but error messages after it "verifies" install. View 7 Replies View RelatedDid the OTA update to 5.1 yesterday and apparently it failed. The phone went into recovery mode instead. No big deal, plugged it into the computer, started iTunes, did recovery/restore, and then.... it went back into recovery mode. Tried a hard reset, tried to restore/update again, same result. So basically, the phone updates, and then goes right back into recovery mode. I have tried some of the jaibreaking tools to get it out of recovery, but they are also unsuccessful. I've tried using iTunes to update it about 10 times now. still nothing.

I attempted to do an ios update tonight...I think it was from 5.0 to 5.01 (not sure). It went through the downloading process and I believe it was at the point of restarting/installing, not quite sure, I wasn't totally paying attention. But then I got a message from iTunes saying that an unknown error occurred and the update could not be completed. Now my phone appears to be completely screwed.
I'm left with a screen on my phone that has the iTunes logo at the top and below is an image of the iPhone USB connector. I can't get away from the screen...turn off/on, hard reset, etc all takes me back to that same screen. What's worse, my iTunes is no longer showing my phone as an option. It's like my phone is no longer recognized at all. I've unplugged and plugged it back in several times. I've restarted iTunes, restarted my computer, etc.

So about 20 minutes ago I connected my iPhone to my computer and iTunes prompted me to update it. I accepted, but as it was applying the updates some type of error popped up. Long story short, it failed to update and now when I turn on my phone it's frozen with the screen showing the USB cord & iTunes icons. I've tried: -Shutting it down by holding the sleep/power button-Shutting it down by holding the Home + sleep/power button-All of my USB ports on my computer-Reinstalling iTunes As soon as I turn it on, it briefly shows the Apple icon then it goes back to the same screen with the iTunes/USB icons. When I connect it to my computer it makes the connection sound but it won't register on iTunes.

I have an iPhone 5s 16GB that has been installing the new iOS 8 update (8.1.2 I believe?). After being prompted to install the update, I agreed to the terms & conditions and hit "install." After seemingly flying through the first 9/10ths of the update, the progress bar under the Apple logo has not moved for a solid few hours now. I have not had this problem with previous updates. Is there any action that I should/can take without wiping everything from the phone?
