Xperia Ray :: The "old TV" Power-off Animation Is Gone With Update 2.3.4
Oct 22, 2011
I was too much inspired by the "old TV power-off" animation on lock in xperia ray, so were my friends. It really differentiated itself from other smartphones, too well, and looked real cool in Xperia Ray. It made it feel special. Small nifty things like these inspire you too much. Its so disappointing that this is taken off from ray with the 2.3.4 update.
My phone was in the middle of the update and then there was a power outage in my house. Now when I turn my phone on, there's an error message that I can't get past. I've tried plugging it back into the computer, but PC companion doesn't recognize it anymore and I can't do anything with the phone itself.
i unlocked it in india ... seriouly it is a gud but when i was updating my phone through data cable via internet ... in the middle of the update i lost the power ... because of this my system got shut down... and now is not working
Is any update for xperia pro for reboot option at power menu? Is there any third party apps for reboot? Suppose I root my phone, in the future can I update my phone with Sony PC companion for future updates? Is any effect for root?
I would want to bring an issue to Sony's and all the Z2 users' notice that I am trying to observe a display burn in issue on pressing the power button while unlocking the phone a lot of times and this usually happens when I have set the brightness to adaptive. When I press the power button to unlock the screen, the colors burn for a second and the backlight comes to life with all the real colors the next second.
Its been happening quite a lot now and now I am atleast able to figure out that adaptive brightness is the culprit here. I am not sure is this another bug that sony needs to fix in lollipop or what it is? But just to mention, I have recently clean formatted my phone using the repair phone method on Sony PC companion and it has not worked to solve this issue. Lollipop is seriously making life bitter in a lot of ways than being sweet atleast for Z2 users like me. We would love to see the almost flawless Z2 back as it was on Kitkat 4.4.4.
I try to see a radar animation on a weather web page (m.yr.no/sted/Norge/Nordland/Andøy/Dverberg/radar.html) but get only the first picture. It is a gif animation. I downloaded it on my computer an tried to copy it to the mobile - with the same result. I just see the first picture of the animation. (it's about 2 MB)
Just after the upatde performed, i turned on my cell and from this time when i turn on my phone it just run endlessly the sony ericsson animation. So i can't use my phone at all.
On your Z5's when you let the screen turn off automatically due to timeout, what is your animation? Does it dim out and turn off instantly or does it have a fade out effect?
Mine dims and turns off without a fade out effect which I swear was there before? I don't know.
I just recently bought my Xperia X10 here in the Philippines and the mediascape doesn't have an animation like in Timescape where the slides make some cirlce motion. How do we fix this one? I really want the mediascape to have some animation when you launch the application as advertised. In my phone's case, it doesnt have.
Ive just updated my SK17 to the latest 2.3.4 firmware but i realised after updating, the CRT Screen Off Animation is no where to be seen....how can i get this back?
Xperia mini pro has this cool animation when you press the switch off button...it turns the screen off (puts it in stand by) by closing the screen to the middle with a little white flash. I recently noticed that it is gone, it does not appear any more when I turn my screen off. I have tried changing the animation settings under "display" category but nothing happens.
i just updated my bold last night and after the update the phone was supposed to restart and when it powers up and the blackberry sign come and its loading, it does so to some point and just goes off, then restarts again.
Since updating to Belle on my N8 the battery power has significantly gone down. I use my phone the same way every day. I have turned off the clock screen saver too and still goes down quickly. Before it would last 4 or 5 days, with light use of the camera and internet, now it won't last past 3.
When I was trying to update the OS the power went down so the process is incomplete. And now all I have is blackberry and the straight loading bar is full until the right side of the screen but that's it. doesn't move either.
Has anyone else noticed that after installing the update if I power off the Droid X and turn it on again it takes forever to power on. It keeps waiting forever on the boot animation. It didnt take so long before the update.
Received a new 16GB Motoactv this evening. Completed set up of MotoCast on my MAC. Unit was working fine, GPS / Radio etc.
Then checked for software update, it found 4.56.76, downloaded the sw and started to update. After about 30mins the MAC had a box saying updating, do not disconnect and the screen of the unit seems to be cycling. Initially I'd see the red batwings then an image of the unit and the progress bar underneath. The yellow moves about 1/3 along the bar then stops, after a minute or so the unit seems to power cycle > batwings > and so on....
After about 45 mins I disconnected the unit from the USB/MAC, tried a start + pwr reset but I still only get to this cycling mode (batwings > image + progress bar). Unit was charged for about an hour before I started the initial set up.
I finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?
Tried to do an update on my Iphone 4. Now the only thing showing on my screen is a picture of the power cord and the I-tunes logo. I can't power it off or on. I have tried holding down both buttons but nothing happens.
After trying to update my Xperia and failing 3 times (using PC Companion), the phone will not power up. It just died. Took out battery and bak in when switching on the green led will flash for a fraction of a second but the unit will not go on. When pluging into outlet, the green led will come on solid for about a minute and the go off.
I'm learning more about my G4 every day and like it very much so far. One of the things I enjoy is the weather animation on the lock screen. But it only shows the wanimation for a couple of seconds before it goes away. Is there a way to keep it on longer? It would be nice to keep the animation on as long as the lock screen is displayed.
Been fiddling with my phone recently to stop the constant severe weather alerts, but now it seems I no longer have the option to enable the weather animation on my lock screen. It used to be there, but now it's gone. what I messed up and how to undo it?
This is a formal request for Motorola to add the CRT screen off animation into the gingerbread build for the Atrix 4g. Im not sure if this is a google flagship fucntion, but I think if we got that with the next a future update, it could even boost future sales of the device. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people out there that want this feature. However, many have never have even seen it in person. Let us be the ones to show it off to our friends, so they in turn can envy us. That would create desires in new potential customers that only spending money could fill .
I just got a Lumia 950, and I noticed the the lock screen swipe animation works differently than in WP 8.1. The whole image does not scroll, just the time, date, and notification icons.
Is this normal? Below is a picture of it mid-swipe. Neither the weather information (nor image) has moved, but the time, date and notification icons have.
