View 9 RepliesI'm positive this has been brought up before, the camera button is only able to load up in auto superior mode which is great for basic quick camera needs but for users who want to use the camera to its full potential (20.7 MP) you need to shoot in manual mode. It seems like a simple addition to the camera which would allow everyone to use the camera app how they prefer. Is there a fix coming for this, is there a setting I'm missing? Seems silly to put a good camera in a phone and have it so inaccessible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just got my Xperia Z3 which is the first Sony smartphone I ever have. But all the reviews I've seen mentione that the camera in auto mode shoots only 8mp photos. Is that true? And if it is,why?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe Superior Auto/Manual camera app is not loading, and becomes unresponsive. Here's a screen shot when opening the camera app:
Diagnostic reports the camera as fine, is able to take photos with flash. Other modes such as 'Background Defocus' etc are running fine, as is instagram etc. I tried switching from 'Defocus Background' to Superior Auto/Manual/4k Video etc and the app becomes unresponsive again as above.
I've cleared app data and caches for the 'Camera' and 'Cameras' in app settings. Tested in Safe Mode, and have just done a factory rest of my Z2 which has not resolved the issue.
I tried the camera of the xperia z2 but the HDR mode is grey in text , cannot be turned on, also it's in manual mode, why?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAccording to the Android Documentation, Camera.Parameters, the FOCUS_MODE_FIXED should usually set the camera focus to a hyperfocal mode, which should cover most of the focusable area. Testing with it however reveals that on my Xperia Neo, it is equal to FOCUS_MODE_INFINITE, which means that not a lot besides the sky and far-far away buildings are in focusable area.
Testing with a simple scene with different distances, it seems that in infinite setting, even stuff at some 30 meters (haven't measured exactly, but it's far away under cealing) is unfocused.
Sample pictures taken rapidly after each other (auto and fixed even at the same second): [URL]
Is there still a way to get it into proper hyperfocal setting?
The reason I'm asking this is to be able to put the camera into car and have it stay at a fixed focus, since vibrations of the car distract the continuous autofocus.
When in camera mode, you can't select the last photo taken (in the bottom right hand corner).. The photo doesn't come to full screen...
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe main camera always goes into macro mode when selected. The selfie camera works fine. But for interim shots the main camera selects macro and the the flash comes on permanently. Phone will then only respond to On/Off button.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy z5 initially encountered error when activating camera "camera or flash might have been used in other apps".. Camera failed to launch/open, then the screen becomes blurry when camera is on. Now, managed to switch on camera but it stays on macro mode all the time, and unable to focus. When capturing images, it hanged and i need to switch off and on back, then only the phone seems ok.. But until now, the cam still in problematic mode.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've bought my Xperia Z2 few days ago and have strange issue - my camera button doesn't work in every mode. I can open camera app by holding button but can't take any picture in auto mode. Button works in 4K video, Timeshift video, AR effects, Timeshift burst mode. I didn't check Vine, info-eye and social live modes only. I can take pictures by touching the screen button in every mode.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI got a txt earlier and when I went to reply to the msg the phone vibrated and entered the video camera mode, I exited the camera and before I had a chance to do anything the same thing happened again and in now happening non stop, turning the phone off removing the battery and powering up again and its still happening, as soon as I unlock it it goes straight to the camera.

View 10 Replies View RelatedEvery time I choose a scene mode and go back to manual mode the settings gets reset. (i.e. focus mode, ISO, metering mode.) It is annoying to set it everytime. Why can't the app remember my settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use manual mode in camera, tripod icon and macro icon doesn't show when i use tripod or shoot a macro object. But the icons show when i use superior auto mode. Did all you have the same behaviour ? or it's just my phone ? My device is Z5 Premium Dual ....
View 1 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, out of nowhere, without any obvious reasons, my phone started to enter camera-mode, focusing in and out, and taking pictures.
Â
It does not matter if I use the phone, or it's lying on the table. If I'm using software, or not.
Â
I slept an hour this afternoon, it had taken roughly 50 pictures during 25 minutes, 10 during one random minute, then 1 picture 5 minutes later, so it doesen't seem to be any system behind it.
I've a problem in z2 whenever i use time shift video mode the camera turn much darker than the normal video mode in same light condition .. I tried alot of times but the results are the same....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have bought Xperia z3 for 2 months. I have just noticed something that might be a problem with my camera.
Â
In camera mode (both video and camera)Â sometime the screen shows soft black wave running from top to bottom (for more understanding about "black wave" just like when you focus the camera on TV screen). However I didn't focus my camera on TV screen anymore. The problem last for 1-5 minutes. When this problem occurred If I go on and take a photo sometime the wave could be captured into my photo as well but mostly these running black wave can not be captured into the photo.
Â
(I have attached a photo taken when the running black wave problem occurred and this time it was captured in my photo.
I have a Xperia Z3 +. After the latest update of Android's camera my device in manual and automatic shooting mode is out of context and Zoom, I can only use other capture modes and some applications that take pictures.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting blurred images in macro mode or when the object is close and the camera app is failing to recognize close objects conssistently. I've tried repairing my phone but no dice. The issue is greater in case of small objects, eg flowers, etc and the camera doesn't even focus properly on it, resulting in abrupt and blur images.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis phone is def faster than my TP1 but since the processors and memory number are the same, was this phone more a software upgrade than hardware? Being not that much different, why did HTC drop support for it vs. offering winmo 6.5 even though im fully aware you TP1 owners are running 6.5. How is it responding on your TP1's?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded my Nokia N73 to the E72 and am very very disappointed with the picture quality of the camera.
It does not appear to be the same quality as the Carl Zeiss lens of my old N73 and many pictures seem to be out of focus. It has annoying habit of when i try to take a quick snap of continually asking me to chose a shooting mode and the therefore the moment has gone. I also use this camera function for my work and unless I can find advice on taking better quality pics then it will have to go back.Is mine a faulty unit or is there a knack of taking a picture without the camera moving which I think is causing part of the problems.
If I connect the phone to my computer in the MSC mode, I have access to it via Windows Explorer etc., so e.g. I can load music onto my phone, but I cannot install Apps. If I try to do so in the MSC mode, Google Play tells me that the download of the app will start soon, but then nothing happens. If I connect the XPeria in the MTP mode, nothing happens except that my computer utters the first tone of the "USB connected"-signal three times. In the MTP mode the Sony PC companion also tells me that it´s not possible to connect the phone.I reinstalled the PC Companion, restarted my computer and my phone but nothing changed. Is there any possibility to install Apps in the MSC mode? If not, how can I make the MTP mode work again?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set HDR as the default mode for camera? It almost always produces superior picture image but it's such a hassle to keep setting each time I fire up the camera app.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo every time you start the camera it remembers what you were last doing, be it video or zoe mode or whatever. Many times I want to launch the camera and quickly take a picture, but if I was last in video mode then I have to switch out of video mode first. Is there a way for it to always launch as a camera?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got this phone a few months ago and it's been great. However, something's wrong with the settings on my camera and I can't figure it out. When I'm ready to shoot, it's fine. But when I got into Selfie Mode, the whole picture is cropped.
