I've just got my Xperia Z3 which is the first Sony smartphone I ever have. But all the reviews I've seen mentione that the camera in auto mode shoots only 8mp photos. Is that true? And if it is,why?
View 5 RepliesThe Superior Auto/Manual camera app is not loading, and becomes unresponsive. Here's a screen shot when opening the camera app:
Diagnostic reports the camera as fine, is able to take photos with flash. Other modes such as 'Background Defocus' etc are running fine, as is instagram etc. I tried switching from 'Defocus Background' to Superior Auto/Manual/4k Video etc and the app becomes unresponsive again as above.
I've cleared app data and caches for the 'Camera' and 'Cameras' in app settings. Tested in Safe Mode, and have just done a factory rest of my Z2 which has not resolved the issue.
I'm positive this has been brought up before, the camera button is only able to load up in auto superior mode which is great for basic quick camera needs but for users who want to use the camera to its full potential (20.7 MP) you need to shoot in manual mode. It seems like a simple addition to the camera which would allow everyone to use the camera app how they prefer. Is there a fix coming for this, is there a setting I'm missing? Seems silly to put a good camera in a phone and have it so inaccessible.

View 9 Replies View RelatedDid I miss the memo that says deleting lo-res photos will somehow not allow one to open the hi-res versions? I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that sometimes when an app is loading after selecting it from the app store, the icon is very high res when it has the loading bar.After the app loads and installs,the icon makes a noticable shift to a low res version.It is definitely not because the icon is grayed out, you can visibly see the switch from high res to low res.Anyone know how to fix this?No idea why an icon would show in high res then switch for no reason.

SINCE UPGRADE TO ANDROID 2.1 MY RESOLUTION OF THE PICTURES UNDER EACH CONTACT WERE BADLY AFFECTED. THEY ARE SO POOR THAT YOU CAN HARDLY SEE WHO IS ON THE PICTURE! BUT WHEN GOING TO MEDIA, ALL PICTURES ARE SHOWN IN CORRECT RESOLUTION - PLEASE ADVISE WHAT TO DO! IT WAS NEVER A PROBLEM IN ORIGINAL PHONE SOFTWARE VERSION.

I've 'upgraded' from an LG G2 and I expected the Z5 battery to be as good as or at least comparable with the G2 but it would appear not.
It's actually quite funny how bad it is, especially when you consider Sony's claim of it lasting two days. I'm not even getting a full day out of it with moderate usage!
I like to have High Resolution Pictures for my contacts, but the sync with google contacts just gives me low-res pics.

I have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. I have a ford Mondeo car which has a built in bluetooth. I can connect to the hands free but I have to manualy reconnect everytime I get into the car. I was wondering if there was anyway to get the X10 to connect automatically as all my previous phones used to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been reading a lot about the Neo V and I am thinking about buying one but I have just found out something really disturbing: you cannot disable the light sensor. The auto brightness feature works in a way that is undesirable to most people because the screen is too dim when in a dark room or viewing a dark video. (I looked at a friend's Xperia Play, which I think has this same "feature"... it was so dim in a darker room that it was really unpleasant to use - is it the same with Neo V?)
I have read that the only possible way to get around this is root your phone and install an application that disables the light sensor.
Of course I do not want to root the phone because I do not want to risk my warranty. But this auto brightness feature bothers me so much that I might just not buy the phone at all because it would be really annoying to have this nice phone, but with a dark, dim screen. I know, it saves battery life, but what's the point of having a nice display with a dim screen.
Has this changed at all with the ICS update?
Screen auto-rotation function have problem on my phone. After several restarts and on/off the function it starts working finally but not for long. After changing the application or turning off the screen again stops working. I did Factory reset, repairing...no use.

My auto-rotate stopped working. Was working fine the last 24 hours, give or take. Which is the duration of how long I've had the device.
I checked all the settings, and googled around, so I restarted my phone, now it works again.
I have a Z5 for about 2 weeks and it has been doing factory resets on its own about 5 times. The worst part is that it delete the content of my SD card also. I already done what was recommended on both links bellow and that didn't solve it:

I also have disabled the MyXperia functionalities and I use a two steps authentication for my Google account what makes almost impossible to have someone reseting it through any of these methods unless it is me.
The Xperia Z3 compact camera is shutting off automatically after some time. How to disable this? The Google camera app does not do this so it is software issue.

I only notice it has happened because I realize it has been long since I received a mail. This can happen anytime, I have not seen any pattern regarding when it happens.I switch on flight mode every night. I don't know whether that has anything to do with it.Before the update, when I used the Power Save app, after turning it on and then off, the phone would not restore the auto-sync setting, so it was kept off. I stopped using the Power Save app after that.I don't know if it's related.

But now i find that my Wifi gets automatically switched on , even though i prefer it switched off most of the time..this happens at least thrice a day...i keep switchin it off and later i find it switched on again.
