Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Connecting It In MTP Mode / Installing Apps In MSC Mode?
Oct 3, 2012
If I connect the phone to my computer in the MSC mode, I have access to it via Windows Explorer etc., so e.g. I can load music onto my phone, but I cannot install Apps. If I try to do so in the MSC mode, Google Play tells me that the download of the app will start soon, but then nothing happens. If I connect the XPeria in the MTP mode, nothing happens except that my computer utters the first tone of the "USB connected"-signal three times. In the MTP mode the Sony PC companion also tells me that it´s not possible to connect the phone.I reinstalled the PC Companion, restarted my computer and my phone but nothing changed. Is there any possibility to install Apps in the MSC mode? If not, how can I make the MTP mode work again?

I want to upgrade only if those features are great and do not miss types.
Noticed that Z3 always awake (and thus bad battery life), even from within Ultra Stamina mode with no running apps? This happened to me twice now with just over two weeks of using this phone. I haven't been able to take specific steps to replicate this yet, but 2 days in about 16 days means so far over 12% of the days. Â Usually, the phone lasts over 24 hours with moderate use. I normally have stamina mode "on", and set to activate at 50% battery level, and then Low Battery mode to activate at 20%. Note also that all the apps I am using have been installed from the first day I've been using the phone. That is, I have not installed any new apps before I noticed this happening, and when I have "normal" battery life it is using the same set of apps. Â Here is an outline of what happens: Â I notice a much faster than usual power drain, despite being a typical day of usage (i.e. nothing out of the ordinary). I go to battery usage, and see the history details, and see that "Awake" has been on constantly, including during long screen off times, and all the while with Stamina mode enabled and active.
I then restart the phone. Problem still there, still constantly awake despite screen off and stamina.
Battery dips below 20% and Low Battery mode activates.
Phone keeps on being constantly "awake", despite no usage and now both low battery AND stamina modes on. Restart the phone. Same problem.
I turn on Ultra Stamina mode. (I did this last time at 17%)
Phone continues to be always awake. Battery quickly drains down to 5% within less than an hour and almost no use, even though Ultra Stamina is supposed to stretch the life for an order of magnitude longer than that.
I shut off the phone to avoid complete discharge. When I return home, I plug it in and wait for a decent charge before turning the phone back on.
After full charge, I take the phone off the charger. Phone now works normally again, without always being "awake". Â I can't figure out what causes this sequence of events to kick off in the first place. I'm trying to play around with things to get it to start doing this, but so far I haven't been successful in deliberately replicating the problem. Â My android version is 5.0.2, v. 23.1.A.0.726.
After Lollipop goes we have UltraStamina mode. So I have a problem with this mode.In normal mode I turn off some applications (like Google+, Social etc). I don't need them. After I use Ultra Stamina mode, then to come back in Normal mode I need to reboot my phone. But after rebooting that list of turned-off apps is wiped. So it's unnormal I must again turn-off manually every unused app.
I launch the 8.1.2 updating process in OTA mode today and my iPhone 6 get stuck in recovery mode after the restart (iTunes icon with the cable on the screen).Â
So I try to restore from iTunes but I've got a unknown "error 56" at 75% of internal firmware upgrading process. The updating seems stuck, I've wait several minutes with no change. As soon as I unplug the cable my iPhone get back to recovery mode (iTunes icon with the cable on the screen).I've try several times, with another cable, with the old 8.1.1 firmware image (using Alt key when selecting the restore button). I try to launch the restore from my iMac and from my MacBook Pro (both with latest Yosemite and iTunes versions) but my iPhone is still stuck in recovery mode.Â
Bring it back to an Apple Store? Unfortunatly I'm living overseas and I've bought this iPhone 6 a few weeks ago when traveling. I'll be in Melbourne in a few weeks but I would like to use my iPhone again before. Â
When I go to wipe my cache partition, before the boot menu appears I get a message every time that says "Installing System Update" and the little Android guy appears and acts like he's doing something. Normally functioning phones seeing this message before getting to their cache wipe?
I've done full Factory Resets twice now and also many cache wipes but I'm wondering if that original T-Mobile update on the first day got hung up and won't fix itself even with Factory Resets. And, wondering if perhaps other T-Mobile users have the same problem too causing the litany of issues we've seen.
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that my N97 was no longer connecting in 3G mode. I am definitely in a 3G covered area. I have checked all the obvious things - it is set up for dual mode connection (if I switch to UMTS only it can't find the network). I have done all the resets one could possibly think of. Before I head for a care-point to get a hardware fix, is there any obscure setting that I haven't thought of that might be clobbering the 3G connection?
I have a Linksys WRT310N wireless router. My iPhone 4s won't connect to the router in Wireless N only mode. I have set the radio band to the 20Mhz channel and picked a channel. It refuses to connect. However, if I choose mixed mode it works. How can I get it to connect in N-only mode with a Linksys router?
My wife downloaded IOS 5 update for her iPhone 3gs and it now seems to be stuck in the connecting mode. The screen displays the apple logo and the USB symbol. Everytime she attempts to power down the phone the screen goes blank for a few seconds then returns to the apple logo w/ USB.
Everytime I connect my Droid3 to the computer my Droid Pulls pictures and music FROM my PC and puts it on the phone. Sometimes it will pull All of my pictures, and sometimes it randomly selects 2 or 3 HUNDRED of them. I recently decided to add some music to my phone and as I was creating my "playlist" to sync to my droid, I noticed that something was happening. Before I even hit sync, my phone pulled ALL of the music off my computer and stored it on my phone.
I have tried to delete the pictures by going into the file on the computer and I get half way through when it locks up. I have to delete EACH picture.
I have gone to the Verizon Store, they have never heard of this happening. They did a reset, which thrilled me because I lost all of my ringtones and downloaded apps. It also erased all the personalized ringtones I had set.
I'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.
(1) When connecting to wall-charger at night, device does not automatically enter bedside mode, even though specified in settings. When manually entering bedside mode, the screen goes black after several seconds; unplugging the device reveals that the device is in bedside mode, but isn't known because of black screen.(2) When connecting to USB-charger to my PC, the phone enters bedside mode and stays in bedside mode like it should.Device info9550Verizonv5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442)Apps and free spaceFile free before battery remove/replace: 116765295 Bytes File free after battery remove/replace: 118299711 BytesDid a battery pull fix your issue
How can I select highest resolution on automatic mode and scenes mode? It looks like some inportant function is missing. The creative mode is really hard to use. I perfer automatic and scenes mode which is easiler for me but I want it to be the best resolution is there any way because I couldn't find the setting?
I have tried to synchronize my Aino for several times with Outlook. It worked last time, now the process is being interrupted. I did several attemps to synchronize, but in the middle of the proceess, the PC Suite all of a sudden switches from PC mode to USB mode. It looks as if the Aino had just been connected, but I haven't touched the Aino, the cable, or the computer.
I tried to upgrade the iphone to ios 5.1.1 when the download was complete, phone went to recovery mode and the upgrade process failed, the phone never came back to normal mode.
I have bought a N900 today and am busy testing it. With the phone, no real user guide was given. I downloaded one from the Nokia site. But I do not seem to find how to make the screen rotate.
My N900 only seems to be able to connect to PC Suite in 'non-compatibility' mode. This mode doesnt allow me to use any of the PC suite applications. How do I change the mode to 'compatibility' mode, or the 'normal' mode so everything works! No options appear on the phone when the USB cable is connected for PC Suite, like it should do? The phone is automatically charged via the connection though.
So I am having a very strange problem. I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode. This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
When I go to Offline mode I can't switch back to any other mode without having to remove the battery of my E72. I can't even switch off the phone as it freezes. This issue started when I installed the first phone software update last year. Yesterday I installed the latest software but the problem persists.
So earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.
Just updated two days ago and my Airplane Mode icon will take me to the settings screen where I have to tap on Airplane Mode again which turns it into a two step process and makes the icon pointless. The other thing is that the screen is not dimming like it did in Power Saver mode. I keep my screen about 1/3 because indoors it's all I need and it would drop it about 10% before I updated to 4.3. Now it keeps it at the 1/3 default no matter what. I can't really say whether it's having a dramatic effect on battery life, but it would be nice to get that extra 5% in times of need.
I have a Galaxy S6 that I purchased off Ebay and on the back of the phone, the model is SM-G920i but in the settings of the phone, the model number is SM-G920F. I want to get this back to original stock firmware based on the G920i. The only problem is that I cannot get into Download Mode to be able to use Odin. I have tried all of the hardware combinations and the only thing is does is take me to a Factory Mode, where the options are Auto Test, Manual Test, Item Test, Test Report, Debug Test, Clear eMMC, Version, and Reboot.
New phone goes into standby mode frequently when Data is being changed in an app like the alarm. When changing the alarm function hour, every time the alarm hour is advanced, the phone goes blank, you have to hit the power button, then slide your finger across the screen to unlock the screen which puts me back in the alarm. When I make another advance in get hour, the phone goes back to standby mode, but happens in other apps too. I have already tried resetting the phone to factory defaults, with the same results.
how do I get the photon to get "charge only" mode when connecting the photon to a pc?I have 2 operating systems, 1 tablet with windows 7 professional 32 bit tablet pc, and 1 laptop with windows xp professional 32 bit. Some other people were saying as soon as they plug in their photon to their PC, they can drop down the notification menu from where the clock, signal indicator is and see this option. I do not have this when trying to connect - all it does is "charge" but I am able to make/receive calls this way. Both OS's do not recognize the photon, and there are no errors in device manager.I also did the OTA update to MR5 from sprint over wifi.Is there a link to the application or correct drivers I need for this? Also how can I test to see if this will work?
I want to know if it is possible to install applications in the X10 downloaded from the internet with a PC. I do not have internet connection from my mobile and I would like to install some applications on it, but the only way explained in the manual is using the market and I can not use it.
