I am not able to delete my sms, threads or conversations by any means. whenever I try to delete anything, it just keeps on loading and nothing happening after 5 mins of just loading.
View 8 RepliesI have 33,954 messages in a conversation which takes forever to open up. When I try to delete it via messages it just keeps saying "deleting" until my phone lags and I can't do anything. I then restart it and none of the text messages have been deleted. I then downladed an app called Handcent and it seems like that's freezing up too.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my X10a to 2.3.3 about two months ago without incident, so I don't know if this problem has anything to do with the upgrade itself since I did not have this problem in 2.1. However, I cannot delete text message conversations in the 2.3.3 stock rom. This is what is happening: when I attempt to delete a message it goes through the cycle but the message still appears with a subject "no subject", a date of "12/31/1969" and a time "19:00" in Handcent SMS. In Messaging I have opened blank messages and pressed delete conversation and then confirm to delete, but the result is message deleted. When I review all my conversations, the message I just deleted still appears in messaging. I have cleared both the Messaging and Handcent SMS application's data and cache. Rebooted the phone and guess what; all the conversations remain. What gives..

I done the new update on my Xperia x10, and have had this problem since.. Individual sms messages will delete, but the conversation name (or Draft) stays there in the main viewing screen......Does anyone know how to get them to delete? I have used MyBackup to backup and restore messages to see if it refreshes, but the empty conversations keep coming back .
I got my galaxy s2 about a month ago, and it's not rooted When i go to delete SMS threads, the mesages are deleted but the 'shell' of the thread remains in the list of threads. This is whether I use the stock messaging app or GO SMS. I've also tried backing up my text messages, deleting them all, restarting the phone and then restoring the messages but it doesn't work. If I back up the messages and then delete them using SMS cleaner no messages are deleted (even after a phone restart) although SMS cleaner then says there are no messages to find when I try to repeat this step. The shell messages all have the date 1st Jan 1970. Is there a way to fix this without rooting my phone?

I have tried to restart my phone but when I do, the "deleted" threads show back up on my phone. I use iOS 7.1.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a droid incredible and am running handcent sms. Today I noticed that it WILL NOT show my text thread with my mom! Its not in the list, and the messages from her dont show up in my notifications. The only way I can read them is if i click the "send message" button on her name in my phonebook and it shows the previous messages, otherwise I cant find it. It really sucks because I can never tell when she texts me! Any solutions? All of my other messages work perfectly

(I can do individual messages but the thread has got so long there are not enough hours in the day!) It is also not clear when a whole backup is done to the PC whether text threads are backed up as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of my SMS threads with someone has gotten so long (a LOT of messages over a year or so) that it's slowed right down and takes about 10 seconds to load up initially, and then trying to reply is all jumpy & slow, it basically seems to have slowed right down to be unusable. I'm assuming the thread has gotten too long and it's juggling it around in memory.
I'm just wondering if there's any way I can resolve this? If possible I'd rather not delete the thread, but will if there's no alternative. Is there a way I can save this thread and then start a new one with this person? Or back up the thread or something?
Is there a picture thread for Samsung based phones we can post to similar to the Apple, SE and Nokia forums?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased 4 BB Bold 9900's in June 2012 for a new small biz venture. None of the phones are retaining text messages and or previous threads past 30 days. i.e. If I scroll to the last text message, it will go back only 30 days....and the end date changes each day, with text messages falling off.
Upon purchase, I made sure to set all to "Keep messages forever". Does anyone have ANY suggestions? Our previous BB's did not have this issue, and these previous text threads are critical for referencing past text message threads and the data exchanged.

When I receive group messages (whether from iphone, android, or windows) they show up in individual message threads. I have to download them, then they disappear from that thread and show up in the group thread.
I do not get a notification when they originally come through in the individual thread. I have to open my messages app and see an unread message. I do get a normal notification though once it has downloaded and transferred to the group thread.
I have group messages checked in the message settings
I have data roaming checked in data usage settings
I have AT&T
I use the stock messaging
I also have this same issue if someone sends me a picture, no notification and it must be downloaded
Is it due to having background data restricted? I cannot turn it on to see if it changes anything because I have a small data plan and don't want to risk going over.......
Is there a function in lumia 610 that allows all of the conversations in the threads to be deleted all at a go, instead of one at a time? Also, is it possible to mass select contacts (when you are sms/mms-ing) by just checking the box besides the contacts instead of adding one contact at a time? I just got the phone 4 days ago hence I do not know the functionality very well.

There have been several instances where I have sent a picture message to someone, after I send the photo, i go back to the messaging thread a few moments later and it doesn't show the picture(s)... It's as if I never sent the photo. I have asked my friend(s) if they got the photos i sent, but they said no, so I have to send a 2nd time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor a while now whenever I open my contacts it loads extremely slowly. This means I can't actually click to make a call for around 30 seconds approaching a minute at times.
Also when people call me because of this the contact name doesn't always appear as it just shows a number as if the phone doesn't recognise it's someone from my contacts list.
I've had this problem since Lolipop upgrade, my wife is now getting this problem after moving from Z1 compact (lolipop) to Z3 compact too, also seen this issue on XDA forums so it's a definite Z3 issue.
If I click a link in an app (Twitter, Google Search etc) then a Chrome tab opens but nothing loads in it, clicking the address and pressing return does nothing, copying the address and pasting in to a new tab or incognito window works OK. killing the app in the mutitask window doesn't work, restarting the phone allows it to work for a couple of days before it starts doing this again.
A solution is needed and rebooting the phone is not a solution, it's a temporary fix. I have a few Gb free on the phone, all other apps working fine. I'm on my 3rd Z3 in a few months, it's done it on all of them, resetting the phone to factory settings does nothing after a few days.
I have problem since my Z3 updated to lollipop. When I tried to load my contact, it seems took too long for high end phone like Z3. Especially if the phone connection somehow disconnected, I found that to open again my contact need time for loading.
