Xperia X10 :: Cannot Delete Text Message Conversations
Jan 6, 2011
I have upgraded my X10a to 2.3.3 about two months ago without incident, so I don't know if this problem has anything to do with the upgrade itself since I did not have this problem in 2.1. However, I cannot delete text message conversations in the 2.3.3 stock rom. This is what is happening: when I attempt to delete a message it goes through the cycle but the message still appears with a subject "no subject", a date of "12/31/1969" and a time "19:00" in Handcent SMS. In Messaging I have opened blank messages and pressed delete conversation and then confirm to delete, but the result is message deleted. When I review all my conversations, the message I just deleted still appears in messaging. I have cleared both the Messaging and Handcent SMS application's data and cache. Rebooted the phone and guess what; all the conversations remain. What gives..
I have 33,954 messages in a conversation which takes forever to open up. When I try to delete it via messages it just keeps saying "deleting" until my phone lags and I can't do anything. I then restart it and none of the text messages have been deleted. I then downladed an app called Handcent and it seems like that's freezing up too.
know of a way to save text message conversations from your Blackberry? I mean entire conversations not just one bubble. I would like to be able to save one to my PC or email it to myself so I have a hard copy.
I'm looking for an app that can save my message history in other apps. I use Skype and ICQ to send messages to my girlfriend and i need to keep them all. I know that Skype automatically keeps messages for a number of months (3 months I think) but I want to save far more than that.
In the native Text Message application I am finding that for one contact, that I notice, the conversation is not grouping inbound and outbound messages. For all others it is. For example: If I open the Text Message application I can see two entries for the same contact. The first entry is all the messages I have sent to this contact. The second entry is for all the messages this contact has sent me. I have deleted the contact and recreated and it still occurring.
I am not able to delete my sms, threads or conversations by any means. whenever I try to delete anything, it just keeps on loading and nothing happening after 5 mins of just loading.Â
I know this question has been asked before by others but i still have no solution.. I done the new update on my Xperia x10, and have had this problem since.. Individual sms messages will delete, but the conversation name (or Draft) stays there in the main viewing screen......Does anyone know how to get them to delete? I have used MyBackup to backup and restore messages to see if it refreshes, but the empty conversations keep coming back .
My text messages, both new  and  old are unaccessible. New messages are shown as received and the first list displayed in  the index but I cannot read any of them.
I dont like the conversation set up in in text messaging, is there anyway you can change the settings to just show the messages instead of being grouped as a conversation?
I have received two (2) different text message with only the sender address and the message is blank....they will not delete. cannot highlight message field and no option to delete only to close application
I can no longer delete an individual text message There is no trash can. This very important to me. Seems as though Apple took that feature away, or I'm not finding it.
I have a empty SMS text message that will not delete. I click delete and also have done delete prior and its gone, but as soon as I pull my battery and it turns on its there again.
I want to delete part of a text conversation thread and when selecting More then checking circles there is no longer a trash can, only option is delete all.Â
His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!
I have an iPhone 4 with Verizon service. I am trying to delete a large text message conversation, but it shuts down my phone. What can I do to delete the stream of messages in total, without doing it one by one.
I have an ELM J10i2. I find conversations nothing but a pain and lose messages. is there anyway i can just view messages the regular way through inbox and delete or disable the conversations?
I did do a search on this before I posted it, however the one thread out there really didnt answer my question so sorry for the re - post. Does anyone know how or if you can delete the option to receive a text message when getting and deleting a visual voicemail? Previous post stated that you can't do it or that it was a bug. thought now that some time went by someone might have came up with a fix.
Love my new Lumia 900. One odd issue I can't solve and AT&T can't solve. They referred me to Nokia. When I check a voice mail and delete it, I get a blank text message from 1-(000)-000-0000. I get one for every deleted voice mail. AT&T says there is no setting for this.
I have the Blackberry Bold 9000. I had a text messaging conversation history in text messaging which I accidentally erased. Is there any way to recover these messages? They were not saved to the SIM card/memory card, just on the phone itself.
Trying to save text messages prior to activating a new phone...don't want to lose certain text messages. I don't have to do each individual text message and can actucually save a whole conversation from a particular contact..
My phone has suddenly stopped showing all existing text conversations and is stuck in a mode where my only choices are to call or or get contact info. There is no message button on the top left to take me back to the existing conversations.
When I have text conversations I seem to lose app memory faster resulting in the Storm becoming very sluggish and inoperable, only remedied by a battery pull. Is it the texting application that is the source of the memory leak or is the leak somewhere else only sped up with all the back and forth texting?
running OS 4.7.148 on Verizon
O yeah let me add also that it seems when I have BBM conversations as well app memory drains. Am I dealing with a memory leak or many memory leaks? Or is the phone just underpowered for all this?
I realize this may not be related to only the RAZR but maybe Gingerbread, but is there any way I can change background colors on mt text conversations?
I just updated my phone to ICS, and i am not able to delete a message from my inbox....how annoying.music player doesnt display the pictures of the albums.the quick dial call log widget is gone, it was so useful....
