Xperia X10 :: After Update SMS Messages (conversations) Won't Delete?
Aug 31, 2011
I know this question has been asked before by others but i still have no solution..
I done the new update on my Xperia x10, and have had this problem since.. Individual sms messages will delete, but the conversation name (or Draft) stays there in the main viewing screen......Does anyone know how to get them to delete? I have used MyBackup to backup and restore messages to see if it refreshes, but the empty conversations keep coming back .
I have 33,954 messages in a conversation which takes forever to open up. When I try to delete it via messages it just keeps saying "deleting" until my phone lags and I can't do anything. I then restart it and none of the text messages have been deleted. I then downladed an app called Handcent and it seems like that's freezing up too.
I am not able to delete my sms, threads or conversations by any means. whenever I try to delete anything, it just keeps on loading and nothing happening after 5 mins of just loading.
I have upgraded my X10a to 2.3.3 about two months ago without incident, so I don't know if this problem has anything to do with the upgrade itself since I did not have this problem in 2.1. However, I cannot delete text message conversations in the 2.3.3 stock rom. This is what is happening: when I attempt to delete a message it goes through the cycle but the message still appears with a subject "no subject", a date of "12/31/1969" and a time "19:00" in Handcent SMS. In Messaging I have opened blank messages and pressed delete conversation and then confirm to delete, but the result is message deleted. When I review all my conversations, the message I just deleted still appears in messaging. I have cleared both the Messaging and Handcent SMS application's data and cache. Rebooted the phone and guess what; all the conversations remain. What gives..
I dont like the conversation set up in in text messaging, is there anyway you can change the settings to just show the messages instead of being grouped as a conversation?
I have an ELM J10i2. I find conversations nothing but a pain and lose messages. is there anyway i can just view messages the regular way through inbox and delete or disable the conversations?
I recently upgraded from the D1 to the D4 and have my Hotmail account set up via Corporate Sync. Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?
Just got my first xperia z3 a couple days ago and have been loving it! I used the PC companion to transfer pictures and notes from my old iPhone 4s and although I unchecked messages it seems those came along too. No big deal, however when I attempt to delete them the message app freezes, then when I try to reopen it the screen just goes black and I can't access my sms messages at all. If I restart my phone I can access my messages again and send and receive texts no problem but if I attempt to delete the messages the problem continues. This issue does not happen with deleting the conversations that I started off my xperia. How I could delete these messages....
is there any other way to delete the text messages rather deleting one by one can we delete in one single tap. (I am talking abt msg thread not conversation, as we have a option to delete the whole conversation in one single tap).
i have a x10 mini and i can't seem to clear or delete my recent calls(received, called or missed) and also to clear or delete messages with this touch screen phone. How do i go about getting it right?
After I updated my Z2 to lollipop today, I moved some app's to my sd card. I was not aware that it was not working properly.
Later I saw that the app's I moved cannot be opened or even deleted and when I reinstall them again they don't even show up. I have attached a screenshot also.
My text messages, both new and old are unaccessible. New messages are shown as received and the first list displayed in the index but I cannot read any of them.
I'm being told by my phone and the pc companion software that I need to update the software on my x10 from 2.0.A.0.504 to 3.0.1.G.0.75 but I can't. I get to the second step Prepare and get the message: Installation Error. Unable to install or start phone software update components. Before today I kept getting the message: Sony server too busy. That was also during the second step but whilest trying to download the update.
I have this message: The application Messaging (process com.sonyericsson.conversations) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And a button "Force close" This message appears when I open my Messaging icon, when I open new incoming message and when I try to send a message. At the moment I can receive, but can't send any messages at all. This problem just happened on its own. Everything was fine. I was sending messages to my friends with Happy New Year stuff and then bam!I have Xperia X10 mini pro with Android 2.1?
I'm using nokia 5800 model. In that two messages got failed while sending and stored in Outbox. I tried to delete those two messages. But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem
I am wanting to know is there a way to delete multiple email messages or normal messages for that matter at one time.If i receive like 20 emails, do I really need to delete each one individually? As it's major painful. Even my old dilapidated cell phone could delete mutiple messages at once.
i just updated my phone (which i have done before) and this time I have lost all my messages and some of these contained pictures i wanted to keep please tell m,e there is a way of retrieving them as I need them. i have updated my phone before this has never happened
I followed all the instructions on updating to Android 2.1 and I did not have any error messages in the process. When I boot my X10, I am still at Android 1.6. Worse yet, the backup/restore application does not restore everything. I have to reconfigure my main screens and the worse of it is my Touchdown client needs to be reconfigured for exchange sync and I have to reconfigure it and re-download everything again. How can I diagnose why my android doesn't update? I am using Windows 7 x64.The process looked like it was working, but I see the following in the driverinstaller_install_usbflashdriver.log file:
09:23:05 INFO SYSTEM Operating System: 09:23:05 INFO USER Administrator: 1 (0 = No, 1 = Yes)09:23:05 INFO DATE 11/06/10 (mm/dd/yy)09:23:05 INFO Driver path: "C:ProgramDataSony EricssonUpdate Engine empUSBFlashDriver"09:23:05 === INSTALL ===09:23:05 INFO SOURCE: "C:ProgramDataSony EricssonUpdate Engine empUSBFlashDriverggsemc.inf"09:23:05 INFO ENTER:
After using Backup and Restore before updating the software, I've found that I can't retrieve a lot of my text messages. Everything else has restored fine, and I've tried restoring with just the text messages box checked. This takes hours and hours and usually comes up with an error partway through, or it just doesn't complete. I have a lot of texts that I'd rather not lose.
I just updated my Xperia Mini Pro, but after the update, a) new text messages appear at the bottom of the list of texts (so annoying!) and b) the newest text message does not appear on the list when I reply to it.Is this a bug? I really don't think it's a feature.
I bought my C6-01 and I am really satisfied with that, it's great But a few things are gone!
Even cheapest Nokia models have a Delete All Messages option! This is very useful since I receive so many messages and twice a day I must use it. But I cannot find it in my C6-01, I can't find and it exists, it will be added in a firmware update!
