View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock Messaging app on the S6 allows you to set notification SOUND of your choice - globally ... but no longer has the ability to set a custom vibration pattern. Also, you USED to be able to set unique notification sounds per individual or contact group , but that's now missing too.
My question is, using a third-party messaging app, are these things possible? If so, which texting app (Chomp, etc.) is the way to go so that you can set up unique sounds/vibrations for individuals or groups?
We use a paging system (text message) when we get called into work and it comes from a different number each time ex: 7777129401 the next page will be 77771291048. With my Galaxy S4 I was able to set a separate text notification for all of my groups of contacts while my default text messaging notification would be a loud siren (to wake me up in the middle of the night). This means anytime I got a "page" for work or if someone texted me and I didn't have their number in my phone the siren would go off. The only way I can figure out how to do this in the S6 is to individually go to each contact and set a custom notification and set my default to the siren. I have over 800 contacts, so this would take forever! I also used to use an app called Alirmer before I got the S4, because I did not have the capability with the Droid Bionic, but for some reason this app does not operate correctly on the S6.

So I went to their contact info, added notification field and then changed their notification tone. But for some reason when they text me, they still come up as the default notification as like every other text does. Why can't I customize the text notifications by adding a different text notification to each of my contacts that I want a different notification tone for?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI no longer see a "card" for my text notifications on my lock screen after the lollipop upgrade on my Galaxy S5.
I get the status "notification bar" (see attached screenshot), but I want the "card" (like the "New voice mail" card in the screenshot) to appear on my lock screen - I don't want to have to tap the "notification bar" for the rest of my notifications. Hopefully I'm just missing a setting, and this is not the expected behavior....
Here's what I've tried (and what my settings are):
1) Lock Screen/Screen Lock is set to swipe.
2) Sounds and Notification/While Locked is set to "Show All Content".
3) Applications/Messages/Notifications/Preview Message is checked.
4) Applications/ApplicationManager/Messages -> Show notifications is checked.
5) I have cleared the cache for Messages Application.
6) I have done a cache partition wipe.
I have the Blackberry Bold 9000. I had a text messaging conversation history in text messaging which I accidentally erased. Is there any way to recover these messages? They were not saved to the SIM card/memory card, just on the phone itself.

When I try to delete it via messages it just keeps saying "deleting" until my phone lags and I can't do anything. I then restart it and none of the text messages have been deleted. I then downladed an app called Handcent and it seems like that's freezing up too.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my X10a to 2.3.3 about two months ago without incident, so I don't know if this problem has anything to do with the upgrade itself since I did not have this problem in 2.1. However, I cannot delete text message conversations in the 2.3.3 stock rom. This is what is happening: when I attempt to delete a message it goes through the cycle but the message still appears with a subject "no subject", a date of "12/31/1969" and a time "19:00" in Handcent SMS. In Messaging I have opened blank messages and pressed delete conversation and then confirm to delete, but the result is message deleted. When I review all my conversations, the message I just deleted still appears in messaging. I have cleared both the Messaging and Handcent SMS application's data and cache. Rebooted the phone and guess what; all the conversations remain. What gives..

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the native Text Message application I am finding that for one contact, that I notice, the conversation is not grouping inbound and outbound messages. For all others it is. For example: If I open the Text Message application I can see two entries for the same contact. The first entry is all the messages I have sent to this contact. The second entry is for all the messages this contact has sent me. I have deleted the contact and recreated and it still occurring.

Is it the texting application that is the source of the memory leak or is the leak somewhere else only sped up with all the back and forth texting?

O yeah let me add also that it seems when I have BBM conversations as well app memory drains. Am I dealing with a memory leak or many memory leaks? Or is the phone just underpowered for all this?
My text messages, both new and old are unaccessible. New messages are shown as received and the first list displayed in the index but I cannot read any of them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle hangouts not updating their conversations properly? Messages I send don't show up in the chat unless I exit the conversation and then go back in. What gives? Is this something with hangouts or the s6? Like maybe the ram management thing?
And while we're in it, is it me or did the Google keyboard get noticeably worse too? Auto correct isn't as accurate or reliable anymore. I also notice they've removed the aggressive auto correct feature.
I have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.

However, out of know where my l_e_d flashes red and I cannot find out why. Because there is no app that I have installed that would do that and I don't have any missed calls or something like that . It won't turn off and I restarted my phone, it's really strange.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe "no network" thing has been going on for a couple of months. I go out somewhere and go to make a call and it says no network is available. I see no bars, but am in a place that always has bars. So I have to turn the phone off and restart it, then I have bars. The phone IS set up to use my wifi at home, when available, but always switched seamlessly, and I never had any problems receiving calls when I go out, or this "no network available" thing.
Then recently, it's started hanging up all the time. I tap something and have to wait several seconds for a response, Very annoying. I updated the system several days ago, and it said there was an update available today, so I updated today, but still a problem.
A few days ago my phone just suddenly started pressing buttons on its own and ignoring my button presses. Turning off the screen and turning it back on again fixes it temporarily, but within just a few seconds it will often continue again.
Is this a virus? Or is my phone broken? Nothing happened to cause it to break.
