Is there a function in lumia 610 that allows all of the conversations in the threads to be deleted all at a go, instead of one at a time? Also, is it possible to mass select contacts (when you are sms/mms-ing) by just checking the box besides the contacts instead of adding one contact at a time? I just got the phone 4 days ago hence I do not know the functionality very well.
View 4 Repliesjust got a samsung galaxy sII yesterday after updating from a htc incredible s..(which i found to be incredibily s**t). so far the samsung seems to be a nice phone. easy to use and very fast. theres only one thing thats causing me a bit of frustration, and thats that i cant seem to make my contacts appear with their profil pics in my message inbox next to their conversation threads. they all appear with the default silhouette. i've synced my facebook contacts with my phone contacts and done it both through the facebook app and the social hubb app. my background data and auto sync are activated aswell. i've tried using an app called syncmypix and that didn't work either. when a contact calls me their picture comes up, but im my messages their pics dont appear. i just got off the phone with a samsung representative and they told me i had to merge my contacts with my google account. so i did but this still didnt work, and then they told me its probably a problem with my network provider, which i think was just an attempt by them to get rid of me
View 8 Replies View RelatedOne of my SMS threads with someone has gotten so long (a LOT of messages over a year or so) that it's slowed right down and takes about 10 seconds to load up initially, and then trying to reply is all jumpy & slow, it basically seems to have slowed right down to be unusable. I'm assuming the thread has gotten too long and it's juggling it around in memory.
I'm just wondering if there's any way I can resolve this? If possible I'd rather not delete the thread, but will if there's no alternative. Is there a way I can save this thread and then start a new one with this person? Or back up the thread or something?

Why not just have the Nokia Music in the App store and just show a message when people try to install it, saying that its not availble in the user's country?

Previously in android, i used to just delete the sent media from the file manager. Since the folders of windows are not accessible, so i dont know how to delete them in my lumia 1520 windows phone.
I have a desktop pc with the 8.1 OS and the Nokia 1020 with the same. When I open IE on the Nokia, the favorites folder is synced with my desktop favorites. These favorites show up in two places on the phone.
(1) The favorites menu (2) a folder icon at the bottom of the favorites menu.
I can't figure out how to delete all favorites in both places on the phone only. I wish to keep the favorites on my desktop IE.
In the Nokia menu, I turned off all sync functions. In OneDrive, I turned off all sync functions. I even factory reset the phone after turning off all sync functions. The favorites for IE are still there in both places.
I have 128 GB SD card and whenever I put a large movie in the video folder it seems to be gone the next day. I am not trying to put a couple on the phone in the video folder to see if the same behavior occurs there.

First off, the app is awesome and if you don't currently use it, I'd highly recommend it.
ONLY problem is those "dummy files".
Every Youtube video I see on it instructs you to go to the "Music + Videos" icon, select "music", then while under "artists" you hit the # so you can bring up the alphabet of artists, from here you select the globe on the bottom right of the screen. Doing this then bring up the MPA tool dummy "artist" and you are under the "albums". Swipe left to go to songs. Hit the select icon on the bottom row so now you can easily "select all" and then delete them all at once.
How I delete images from the phone? I use the windows phone app on my Mac but it when I delete all the images via the app it still shows that there is still images on the phone even though my camera roll on the actual phone shows no images. It's still showing 7GB worth of images on the windows phone app when the phone is connected to the app. I even deleted all media content and it still shows it.

Its not in the list, and the messages from her dont show up in my notifications. The only way I can read them is if i click the "send message" button on her name in my phonebook and it shows the previous messages, otherwise I cant find it. It really sucks because I can never tell when she texts me! Any solutions? All of my other messages work perfectly

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was using nokia conversation like all days, with sms stored in the micro sd card. after a freeze, I rebooted the phone, and I was unable to run the apps "messages" and the telephone book (the buttons on the main screen disappeared, the bar with all the applications was empty, and if I try to open the mentioned apps the phone told me (already in use). so I shutdown the phone, removed the external memory, and reboot again. all was functioning properly but, obviously, the memory in use for messages now is the cell phone. i'm unable to restore all the sms stored in the sd. if I try to switch the sms location by the menu on the cell, it says to copy the messages that now is in the phone memory (even if it's empty), and the abort the process. seeying in the directory e:Private1000484bMail2 there's only the dir 00001001_S, with a subdir "9", with a subdir "00100c39_F", who contains only 2 files:
(not properly named file) and another called "M ", filesize 0 bytes.I think the memory is corrupted, but all the other things in the memory card is perfect, excepted the content of the Mail2 directory.

I've run the nokia pc suite, who holds the "cache" of old messages, but it flushed it at the first launch, and now it see only the (few) new messages on the cell memory.i'm trying data recovery on the memory with various software but they don't recognize the ".dat" proprietary format used for storing SMS..i don't understand why with a memory card of 8 giga bytes and a 500$ cell phone there isn't a scheduled backup (automatic, on the cell phone) for avoiding lost data and user angry.
i have a a very important text thread running and for security reasons I would like to e-mail the whole lot at once to myself as a backup. (I can do individual messages but the thread has got so long there are not enough hours in the day!) It is also not clear when a whole backup is done to the PC whether text threads are backed up as well.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI got my galaxy s2 about a month ago, and it's not rooted When i go to delete SMS threads, the mesages are deleted but the 'shell' of the thread remains in the list of threads. This is whether I use the stock messaging app or GO SMS. I've also tried backing up my text messages, deleting them all, restarting the phone and then restoring the messages but it doesn't work. If I back up the messages and then delete them using SMS cleaner no messages are deleted (even after a phone restart) although SMS cleaner then says there are no messages to find when I try to repeat this step. The shell messages all have the date 1st Jan 1970. Is there a way to fix this without rooting my phone?

None of the phones are retaining text messages and or previous threads past 30 days. i.e. If I scroll to the last text message, it will go back only 30 days....and the end date changes each day, with text messages falling off.
Upon purchase, I made sure to set all to "Keep messages forever". Does anyone have ANY suggestions? Our previous BB's did not have this issue, and these previous text threads are critical for referencing past text message threads and the data exchanged.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive group messages (whether from iphone, android, or windows) they show up in individual message threads. I have to download them, then they disappear from that thread and show up in the group thread.
I do not get a notification when they originally come through in the individual thread. I have to open my messages app and see an unread message. I do get a normal notification though once it has downloaded and transferred to the group thread.
I have group messages checked in the message settings
I have data roaming checked in data usage settings
I have AT&T
I use the stock messaging
I also have this same issue if someone sends me a picture, no notification and it must be downloaded
Is it due to having background data restricted? I cannot turn it on to see if it changes anything because I have a small data plan and don't want to risk going over.......
I have one thread in the format of "John Doe: asdfkjaskj" but then the rest are in the format of "Jane Doe (M 55555555). How can I take away or hide the call back number so that they all look like the first thread?
