I have had my Sony Xperia z2 for well over a year now and I am facing a rather strange problem. Whenever I put my phone in my pocket it suddenly heats up to a very high temperature. I don't know why this is happening and it happens when no apps are running nor is the phone under any pressure.

I don't use Bluetooth or WiFi unless pairing with Sony external camera lense via PlayMemories Mobile which usually exacerbates the problem.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Sony Z5 today and on unpacking it and getting it up and running I am finding that it runs hot even while charging and that was not what my old Z3 did.
Secondly I cannot connect bluetooth to my Yamaha soundbar which did work with the Z3.
Last but not least I took it out to send some pics of Edinburgh for a friend and it seems like the camera is still focusing when the pic is taken, the pics are coming out all fuzzy.
I am facing the problem of overheating every now and then when i use some application and listening songs via music app. Moreover the WIFI connection is also gets dropped and as a result i have to search the wifi conection evry time and somtime even if the wifi conection is swtch on, the handset is unable to detect the wifi network.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought an iPhone 4s in November 2013. The phone is through Sprint. (didn't know if that made a difference or not.) In the past 7 months the phones apps have been opening & shutting right down, the app might stay on for 2 minutes if you're lucky. It started out with my Facebook app shutting down, then it progressed to other apps & the repeated random shutdowns have been getting worse. The phone itself overheats without even being plugged into the charger. The Safari is now beginning to close randomly. I called my carrier & they said that they could run a diagnostics test on my phone to see what's making it do what it's doing. Since the phone has been shutting down & randomly shutting apps off for over 7 months, they've ruled out the option of it being a bad software through Apple.

I've had my Xperia Z3 for six months and all was working fine, was really happy with the phone. Until about 2 months ago the phone started intermittedly turning off, I would press the power button to switch back on which wouldnt work for about 5 minutes. The phone would work again for 10 minutes and then the same thing would occur
Battery was fully charged, software was all up to date. After advice from customer support I performed a factory reset and the same problems occured
Since then I have put the phone in for repair and it came back after a couple of days with the fix notes of "software reset"
The phone worked again for a couple of weeks but recently has started to do the exact same thing. I've just put it in for repair again after going over all of the same questions and scenario's as I did the first time around
Since an update a few days ago my phone is now randomly ringing (well playing the ring tone but there is no incoming call)
I've gone through every app I can think of looking for notifications/alarms, but nothing is appearing on the notification screen (the thing that swipes down from the top, I'm new to android)
I got my Z3 2 months ago. I had no problem charging it before, it used to charge fine but after 3 weeks, it started to act strange during charging process. Even if the phone is plugged in fine, the phone charges for few minutes then stops charging again. The charging LED light turns off and when i check the phone, theres no charging signal. But sometime it charges fine without disconnecting.
I thought it was my charger's problem and i tried 2 more new chargers and its still the same. I was running 4.4.4 when this problem occured so i was guessing maybe it was software related issue. I updated to 5.1.1 but the problem still exists. I am using USB cable to charge it. It happens with both the wall charging and PC charging, I even tried factory resetting but no luck. I don't use wireless charging or any charging dock, only USB cable.
In the last week or so my phone keeps putting itself into silent mode, so it doesn't ring when someone is calling me or make a sound when I get messages. This is a nuisance as I keep missing calls. The only way that I can get the phone to ring is to restart the phone, however it will then randomly set itself back into silent mode at some later point in time. When I go into sounds and notifications it will not allow me to increase the ringer volume.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs of a few weeks ago I noticed my phone would randomly restart, I didn't think much of it until one day it shut off, restarted, and then it was locked and would not unlock no matter how long I held the side button down for, plugging it into the charger did nothing. I ended up having to let the phone just die and recharge it once it had died. I could deal with all of that, but today I noticed after it had some sluggish responses to me wanting to unlock the screen (it would stay locked and not respond to button presses until i waited around 2 or 3 minutes after hitting the button initially).
I tried to use several applications, the appstore, snapchat, youtube, and i got little to no activity from any of them. Never ending loading from just about all, or no activity whatsoever from the appstore, yet the net browser and facebook/ etc worked just fine. And to top it all off, I noticed my battery draining at an alarming rate, maybe 10% every 30 minutes even with nearly no applications running or open.
After the 5.1.1 update u changed something in the dialer so when you press any number or contact it call immediately. Have the option to remove it plz bcz sometimes when the phon is in my pocket it Calls people randomly.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy blackberry curve 8520 over heated for no reason, so i ignored it as i was at school and when i got out my battery was on red, so i turned it off to save battery, when i came home, i charged it and the screen was black with the little sign to say it was out of battery. i have cleaned the battery out and everything, moved sockets, and after half an hour it still haunt turn on, but it had a red light on the little light thing, also, my charger is very hot. what do i do?!

I googled it and there is no solution, it only comes up with overheating from using 4K camera but I never use that, if I play a game for less than 5 minutes and it gets too hot to even hold, or touch. Also, when it starts to get hot the WiFi starts to act up and it says it is still on and connected but I cant use the internet
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've encountered a brand new issue that's occurred now for 3 days. My phone was found extremely hot a few days ago and battery was draining almost 10% per minute or 2. I immediately powered it off to cool down. Every since then my phone heats up very quickly and very hot after only a few minutes of basic use. Similarly as if I'd been playing a very graphic intensive game for a 20-30 min session.
This is definitely not normal. In fact, when I do try to play a game within seconds it begins to lag or freeze which I can only assume because it's heated up so much and so quickly
Since I've updated my razr maxx with ICS, my phone has been heating up more than Gingerbread. I have no apps running in the background. I also have been having problems with 4G cutting out and I will have to go into and out of Airplane mode to get data access back. I have received the official update:

I am not sure why it keeps having the temperature warning sometimes even I start the camera app sometimes after one or two shots and then it will turn off! It's really annoying. I have Google it everyone mention abt the jellybean version 4.3 is the cause. But I check my phone my version is 4.4. So I assume it's fix right. As a photographer myself the camera function is very important to me!

My 8 month old X8 which I recently upgraded to android2.1 gets very hot while using 3G or GPRS internet services, and the stock battery doesn't even lasts for a day after a full recharge since the update. Performance is set for optimum battery life but it doesn't facilitate. Are these two problems related?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have never had a problem with my previous Sony Xperia S, nor any Android handset.I would charge my phone over night, wake up late because my alarm does not work. Phone is frozen, phone is hot and phone wont turn on.I have to do the hard reset (volume key + power) to reset it / turn it off. this has to be a charging issue because the battery is at 95 - 97% when I turn it back on, indicating there is something seriously heating the phone up during the evening.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated my phone to new version of android(5.1.1 build 546) my phone charge slowly and it's overheating. It's Temperature increase to 67 Centigrade. So I did software repair with pcc and after phone started I did factory reset.but again it's overheating. Phone is new and it doesn't have hardware issue. Furthermore, it charges slowly.only 10% every hour.
Look at the Temperature:
Ambient temperature : 25-30 centigrade
Temperature after stop charging.
My phone's battery overheats more often each day and because of that, when I plug the charger, it keeps discharging, at this point I have to turn off the device, take out the battery, wait for it to cool down and then re assemble it and plug the charger again.Did my battery reach its limit?. What can cause this effect?. Does overcharge cause this kind of malfunctions?. Do I have to buy a new battery or a new phone?

So I did one test I installed a app that monitor temp and when I did a benchmark it went to 86 Celsius !

I brought my nexus 5 for almost a year now. yesterday, i was charging my phone via a PC and after disconnecting it from the PC it just started to heatup near the camera area. It became so hot that I was not able to keep in my pocket. Then I tried opening up the dailer to call my friend but it just showed "Process system isn't responding do you want to close it?"
THEN I tried several other apps and these showed up:
unfortunately, MTP app stopped
unfortunately, Media Storage has stopped
unfortunately, Settings has stopped
unfortunately, Google play services has stopped
then I tried factory reset but not improvement. during the signin page in the beginning it said Google account manager stopped working, then again process system isn't responding. I tried factory imaging from 4.4.4 kitkat to 5 lollipop. No improvement.
I believe there are some corrupted files that might have updated automatically. i dont want to pay $200 and wait for 3 weeks to get it fixed
I've had my Xperia z3 for just over a month. When I'm on it the temperature rapidly rises from 29C to 46C. The screen feels really hot. I try not to run too many apps at the same time. It was repaired only a few weeks ago but it still gets very hot. Especially when using the camera, playing games or just being on facebook. My partner has the same phone and it never gets hot. Is this normal? Or does my phone need repair yet again?

I'm not 100% sure if this is the solution to all Xperia Minis but after ICS4.0 upgrade of my mini the back button problem occuring due to overheating of phone (usually after 15-20mins usage of any app/music/photo viewing/browsing etc) has gone, After continuous usage of 15-20mins or immediately after charging phone I used to face this problem and could not do anything because as soon as I entered some menu the back button threw me out almost immediately.. but with ICS4.0 upgrade (done approx. 2.5weeks before) the problem has vanished totally. No matter what I do with the phone the back button doesn't throw me out of current menu automatically.
