My SD card just randomly unmounted itself, and now the option to mount an SD card is greyed out. I removed the SD card and checked it with my PC and everything is fine on that end. I'm at a loss at what to try next. I've already tried restarting in safe mode, and restarting the phone, but still no option to mount an SD card.

My new xperia z3 unable to mount my working 64GB mico SD card. the phone detected that the file format is different and prompt to format. But after formatting, it is still unable to mount the card. I tried this 64Gb card on PC and it is working. I tried mounting a 32Gb card on the Z3 and working too.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi updated my phone software on my x10 to android 2.3.3 since i done the update it will not read my memory card. all it keeps saying is sd card unmounted or not present. i have tried to repair the phone on the pc companion website but it will not let me as it says no card present. I have also have used the sony update site as well and reloaded the software twice once with the memory card in and once with out.

So, the files are still there. Is there a way to show the folders and files, because testdisk renames all the files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from 444 to Lollipop and now my phone can't see my external 128MB SD Card. I have photographs and videos on this card, so I can't follow any steps to erase it, etc.
When I do select the option to mount SD Card I'm given a message saying it's "Preparing" the card, and then does nothing, nothing has changed. It displays this message and remains in the storage area settings screen.
How do I resolve this so that I can access and use my card?
I recently updated my Xperia Neo to ICS 4.0.4.Now, every time i plug in a USB-cable to charge the phone, it also connects the SD-Card with my PC.In 2.3.4 there has been a setting to disable this behavior. Is it possible to do this in ICS? I can't find such a setting.

I went to check and try to mount it again it says the card is blank and if i want to format the card. Did the card just went bad or did something else happened? View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using 64gb class 10 sandisk sd card. So after updating to lollipop i have been getting these errors frequently and i have to restart the handset to fix it temporarily. I had this issue on kitkat as well but happened only rarely like once ot twice in 5 months.
These two things happened unfortunately,
1) I had dropped my phone on carpet from 2 feet after lollipop update. I wonder if the phone couldn't handle it and the connector for the sd slot has loosened.
2) Few days back i removed the sd card without unmounting it from settings and immediately got the error and kept happening after that.
3) I have tried 3 different cards and all give the same error while writing files or making changes on them.
4) this error also popped up weirdly last night without the sd card, but only once.
The standard plug in and use the SD Card is terribly slow, dont know why modern phones chose this path. On my BlackBerry I have the option to mount the USB as a USB device and like a USB stick drag and drop. How do I do that? when I plug the phone in, my USB option in the storage setting goes grey.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that will not mount a new Samsung Evo 64GB micro SDXC card.
The micro sd works in my galaxy tab 3 and a friends S4.
The S5 does however recognise the Sandisk 16GB SDHC that came with my galaxy tab.
When I connect an sd card reader to the s5 via the micro usb slot the phone recognises the card???
What else have I have tried.....
1) S5 factory reset of lollipop.
2) Formatting the micro sd
I have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been having this issue ever siince updating to Gingerbread (and the subsequent fix yesterday). When I disconnect my Droid X from my computer, the SD card does not remount and is greyed out when I go to settings to try and fix it. It also erases any app shortcut that is on the home screens that is housed on the SD card. It worked fine when I had Froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI inserted a new 32gb Sandisk card. I am notified that the SD card is blank or has an unsupported file system. I try to mount the card. It says on top:"Blank SD card". I then press Format SD Card. It says Erase the card .. Ok ..then Erase everything. I turned off the phone ... turned back on but no change.
I have tried to connect via PC Mode etc but the computer finds the card, i.e. gives it a letter, (e:) and I can browse D: (the main phone memory but that's it. Cannot be mounted or formatted.
I've already tried reformatting the card, but it continues to not work with my S5. Likewise, none of my spare sd cards work with my S5. Does this mean that my sd slot on the phone is broken?

I can't see it and when I go to storage screen and touch Mount SD Card, nothing happens. When I plug the Xoom into my laptop via USB, laptop only sees internal memory, not microSD. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed recently that my Atrix will no longer unmount the internal storage (either when I select it from SD card & phone storage or when the Atrix is mounted via USB as a USB Mass Storage device). I have no issues with unmounting the external SD card.
When I try unmounting it from SD card & phone storage, it looks like it is going to unmount but doesn't and Unmount internal phone storage turns white again.
Could an app somehow be causing a lock on it somehow? Is there a way to find out which apps are utilizing the internal storage?
From last week my phone got stucked at boot(Google logo). I went to recovery mode-twrp and clicked factory reset..it failed saying that unable to mount storage.
And I also tried nexus tool kit, To flash lollipop stock rom, It say flash write failure..
And tried fastboot flash all.bat method also but not works...
My X10 has locked me out as too many patterns tried and wants my gmail address and password to login. Gmail doesnt work, I've been other forums and tried entering 'nul' as the password, this doesn't work. Then I tried to do a repair using SE PC companion but I can't mount my PC as my phone won't let me pull down the top menu to be able to do this.

I have a Sony Xperia Z3 DUAL SIM. I have successfully upgraded my phone with Lollipop 5.0.2... I use it in french language... The phone is encrypted (professional usage). I also use a SD card of 64gb (encrypted also)
Every thing was functional until I switch off the second sim card (my professional phone) for the weekend and reboot the phone (one sim card On the other one OFF)
Since this action, I'm unable to activate again my professional SIM. The phone boots, and request my Sim1 Pin code. I enter it and the phone request the second one.... again and again and again...
The only way to use the phone is to take the sim card off the phone to use it (after another reboot)...
Whenever i connect mobile via USB cable to my sys to copy songs, i'm unable to browse my SD card.
