View 3 Replies View RelatedHave a strange issue when mounting external USB devices on my Samsung S5. I have:
A. 64 GB PNY thumb drive (Fat32)
B. 500 GB USB HDD (exFat)
C. 64 GB Sony SDXC card (exFat)
and mounting them via cheap non powered 4 port USB hub.
If I mount any of devices separately, no issues. If I mount A and B or A and C together, no issues. Now, if I mount B and C (no matter in which order) as soon as I connect second device I get message that USB device is unmounted successfully and another message straight away that USB device is damaged.
Basically I can't mount two drives if both of them are exFat. If one is Fat32 and another exFat then works fine. Is this a limitation of Android/Samsung?
What I'm trying to achieve is to backup photos from SD card to HDD when I go on holidays in two weeks. Currently I can do this by copying C to A, unmounting C, mounting B and copying from A to B, which is time consuming, I much rather copy C to B directly.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that will not mount a new Samsung Evo 64GB micro SDXC card.
The micro sd works in my galaxy tab 3 and a friends S4.
The S5 does however recognise the Sandisk 16GB SDHC that came with my galaxy tab.
When I connect an sd card reader to the s5 via the micro usb slot the phone recognises the card???
What else have I have tried.....
1) S5 factory reset of lollipop.
2) Formatting the micro sd
I've already tried reformatting the card, but it continues to not work with my S5. Likewise, none of my spare sd cards work with my S5. Does this mean that my sd slot on the phone is broken?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe standard plug in and use the SD Card is terribly slow, dont know why modern phones chose this path. On my BlackBerry I have the option to mount the USB as a USB device and like a USB stick drag and drop. How do I do that? when I plug the phone in, my USB option in the storage setting goes grey.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from 444 to Lollipop and now my phone can't see my external 128MB SD Card. I have photographs and videos on this card, so I can't follow any steps to erase it, etc.
When I do select the option to mount SD Card I'm given a message saying it's "Preparing" the card, and then does nothing, nothing has changed. It displays this message and remains in the storage area settings screen.
How do I resolve this so that I can access and use my card?
I recently updated my Xperia Neo to ICS 4.0.4.Now, every time i plug in a USB-cable to charge the phone, it also connects the SD-Card with my PC.In 2.3.4 there has been a setting to disable this behavior. Is it possible to do this in ICS? I can't find such a setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy SD card just randomly unmounted itself, and now the option to mount an SD card is greyed out. I removed the SD card and checked it with my PC and everything is fine on that end. I'm at a loss at what to try next. I've already tried restarting in safe mode, and restarting the phone, but still no option to mount an SD card.

When I disconnect my Droid X from my computer, the SD card does not remount and is greyed out when I go to settings to try and fix it. It also erases any app shortcut that is on the home screens that is housed on the SD card. It worked fine when I had Froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI inserted a new 32gb Sandisk card. I am notified that the SD card is blank or has an unsupported file system. I try to mount the card. It says on top:"Blank SD card". I then press Format SD Card. It says Erase the card .. Ok ..then Erase everything. I turned off the phone ... turned back on but no change.
I have tried to connect via PC Mode etc but the computer finds the card, i.e. gives it a letter, (e:) and I can browse D: (the main phone memory but that's it. Cannot be mounted or formatted.
My new xperia z3 unable to mount my working 64GB mico SD card. the phone detected that the file format is different and prompt to format. But after formatting, it is still unable to mount the card. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought a 32Gb Sandisk Class 4 microSD card off dailysteals (same place I bought my Xoom). I plugged it in and the Xoom does nothing with it. I can't see it and when I go to storage screen and touch Mount SD Card, nothing happens. When I plug the Xoom into my laptop via USB, laptop only sees internal memory, not microSD. I was previously using a Sandisk 8Gb microSD that worked fine

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint S5 running stock Lollipop. I have moved any apps that can be to the SD card. Anytime those apps are updated, they move back to the device storage. I got this phone shortly before Sprint pushed the Lollipop update so I cannot say for sure if I was having this issue prior to Lollipop.
View 24 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I have a samsung galaxy s2 with android 4.0.4 and recently I started getting the message (sim card full) but I have no contacts nor messages stored in the sim card.I went to vodafone (Portugal) and they gave me a new 4G sim card as they are replacing all 3G cards.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to do a factory reset on my Galaxy s5. While attempting to back-up files on my SD card I realized...I don't have an SD card. The problem with this is that my device shows many apps installed on the SD card (Settings->Device->Applications->Application manager shows apps on SD card).
There is nothing in the microSD card slot above the SIM card slot on the back of my phone. Is there another location for an SD card that I am not aware of and not seeing? If not, how is my phone reading that there are apps stored on the SD card when there is no SD card?
My X10 has locked me out as too many patterns tried and wants my gmail address and password to login. Gmail doesnt work, I've been other forums and tried entering 'nul' as the password, this doesn't work. Then I tried to do a repair using SE PC companion but I can't mount my PC as my phone won't let me pull down the top menu to be able to do this.

How can you mount Iphone as a drive on the MBP without install any apps. When you connect the Iphone to MBP, like USB stick, it shows up as a moutned drive, which you can copy the photos in & out.
A friend of mine showed me how to do it once, but I cannot remember how to do it anymore, and he is not contactable at the moment. I just remember, he changed some settings, and the Iphone just showed up as a mounted drive.
