I inserted a new 32gb Sandisk card. I am notified that the SD card is blank or has an unsupported file system. I try to mount the card. It says on top:"Blank SD card". I then press Format SD Card. It says Erase the card .. Ok ..then Erase everything. I turned off the phone ... turned back on but no change.
I have tried to connect via PC Mode etc but the computer finds the card, i.e. gives it a letter, (e:) and I can browse D: (the main phone memory but that's it. Cannot be mounted or formatted.
I can't find any aid to mounting my new Patriot SD card. I've tried reinserting the card several times and the phone still doesn't see the storage. It just keeps telling me to remount the card.
Yesterday, saw message that Verizon had OTA ICS on my phone...said upgrade would talk 15 minutes and reboot.45 minutes later, all I see is emergency dialer. time to power down and reboot...still just emergency dialer. Called verizon support...after a couple more reboots, tech says do factory reset. This works (although after downloading all my apps during the day, the phone, when rebooted to try to fix the microSD issue, went back into Emergency Dial only mode and I did yet another factory reset...ugggghhh!.)o after perusing the forums, I find that the encryption key is genereated using the MEID (by default, I don't remember which I used when I set the encryption, not that it matters). and is stored on that nice internal storage that gets wiped during the factory reset. So now, the ICS Razr will not mount the microSD card (I am sure, based on the other forums I have visited, that my data is in a better, unusable, place).
I have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.
I have been having this issue ever siince updating to Gingerbread (and the subsequent fix yesterday). When I disconnect my Droid X from my computer, the SD card does not remount and is greyed out when I go to settings to try and fix it. It also erases any app shortcut that is on the home screens that is housed on the SD card. It worked fine when I had Froyo.
I just bought a 32Gb Sandisk Class 4 microSD card off dailysteals (same place I bought my Xoom). I plugged it in and the Xoom does nothing with it. I can't see it and when I go to storage screen and touch Mount SD Card, nothing happens. When I plug the Xoom into my laptop via USB, laptop only sees internal memory, not microSD. I was previously using a Sandisk 8Gb microSD that worked fine
I bought a san disk 16 gb memory card about a month ago. It worked fine until i took it out and forgot to umount now my phone says please insert memory card when its inserted. I tried to format on the computer with no sucess.
I can not format my SD card ( SanDisc 16gb 4, bought from Staples original one) on Atrix 2. I had this issue also with SD card from AT&T that came with phone. I thought that formating will resolve problem with disappearing apps from
How to export all of the contacts from my phone into a format that I can view and make changes and then import back to the phone. I have had to many issues with my contacts. Some of them have been joined on the phone to better manage them, but I would like to export all the data make changes to it, then keep a master copy off of the phone.
i tried to install a new sd card on my phone since it came without one but the phone doesn't recognize it, is it possible to format a new card online then install it afterwards?
I have a SD card with data on it but I don't remember if I formatted it with the phone when I installed it and feel that it is causing some problems. What's the best way to format it without loosing everything stored on it. If I copy the card contents to my laptop, can I format the card and copy the data back without causing problems?
am trying to fully clean up my phone for the next potential owner by doing a cache wipe, wiping all data from the phone and doing an SD card format.I had no problems getting into the recovery console and doing the cache & data wipe, but every time I go into settings/storage (in the normal phone powered up mode), the option to format the SD card is greyed out? I was able to connect the DX in PC mode to my computer and manually delete the items on it, but I wanted to do a clean format.
The standard plug in and use the SD Card is terribly slow, dont know why modern phones chose this path. On my BlackBerry I have the option to mount the USB as a USB device and like a USB stick drag and drop. How do I do that? when I plug the phone in, my USB option in the storage setting goes grey.
Just upgraded from 444 to Lollipop and now my phone can't see my external 128MB SD Card. I have photographs and videos on this card, so I can't follow any steps to erase it, etc.
When I do select the option to mount SD Card I'm given a message saying it's "Preparing" the card, and then does nothing, nothing has changed. It displays this message and remains in the storage area settings screen.
How do I resolve this so that I can access and use my card?
I recently updated my Xperia Neo to ICS 4.0.4.Now, every time i plug in a USB-cable to charge the phone, it also connects the SD-Card with my PC.In 2.3.4 there has been a setting to disable this behavior. Is it possible to do this in ICS? I can't find such a setting.
My SD card just randomly unmounted itself, and now the option to mount an SD card is greyed out. I removed the SD card and checked it with my PC and everything is fine on that end. I'm at a loss at what to try next. I've already tried restarting in safe mode, and restarting the phone, but still no option to mount an SD card.
I've already tried reformatting the card, but it continues to not work with my S5. Likewise, none of my spare sd cards work with my S5. Does this mean that my sd slot on the phone is broken?
My new xperia z3 unable to mount my working 64GB mico SD card. the phone detected that the file format is different and prompt to format. But after formatting, it is still unable to mount the card. I tried this 64Gb card on PC and it is working. I tried mounting a 32Gb card on the Z3 and working too.
I bought my Motorola RAZR here in Dubai, Middle East, and it's working just fine except for one issue that occurs on a daily basis; The phone suddenly loses signal and shows "invalid SIM card"! It lasts for a maximum duration of ONE minute and then the signal is back and the phone behaves normally.I thought it only happens when I'm in low 3g coverage areas but it happened to me twice today!I had the same SIM card on my iPhone 4 and my Motorola ATRIX and never faced a similar issue...
Had to get a replacement phone (dropped it screen cracked) replaced the sim card from the first phone and the SD card everything came back including my downloaded apps but if you go into settings/storage/SD card it shows unavailable and in the ongoing at the top of the home screen it shows preparing SD card but it's been running forever it knows it is there and I've looked at it on my computer the files are there, any thoughts?
where we can manually scan the SD card so ringtones etc. Would show up in ringtones and notification areas etc. Instead of having to reboot the phone everytime to scan the sd card I move or add a ringtone etc. Yes I've tried apps that are in the market and they don't work and still have to reboot to scan the SD card.
lately i've been getting INVALID SIM CARD where the operator name should be, it lasts for about 30seconds to a minute then reconnects to t-mobile.Has any had this porblem ? or know the resolution ?
I have just 'upgraded' from my trusty DroidX to a Droid Razr Maxx HD (what a mouthful). The new device has a nice screen but (apart from the backside) the overall finish / design is nowhere near as elegant as the DroidX. Sigh.My question is this: on my old trusty DroidX the external SD card that came with the device was already pre-configured as the default location for all app data (I'm not talking about the app executables), the camera storage (/DCIM etc), music and my own files (text, excel, pdf etc). On the new Razr Maxx HD there is an internal 'SD Card' (how can an SD Card be 'internal'?!?) and this is the default location for all data files.
After some snooping around I found that the internal 'card' is at /mnt/sdcard and the external card is at /mnt/external1. How does Verizon/Motorola expect a consumer find out this or work with this information?Of course, I can go into camera settings to re-point the camera to store photos on the (real) external SD card. But the screen capture utility (power and volume down) still writes to the internal area - as does the Download capability (ie from email) - and as do all other apps for their 'data' files (remember, I'm not talking about the apps executable files here). Is there a simple way (for us non-rooted phones) to set the true external SD Card as the default destination for all data files? The current set-up is sooo frustrating. I can't just whip the SD card out of the phone and know all my data is in this one place.
