Nokia :: Memory Card Not Accessible In Mass Storage Mode
Aug 31, 2010Not sure what the problem is, but I think it's a problem with my AV software or something else on my PC or an app that's on my phone, rather than a hardware problem.A few days ago I started having problems accessing the memory card via my PC when my phone was plugged in. A restart of both fixed it on all occasions, now even that doesn't work.It shows up in My Computer but when I try to open it my PC tells me to insert a disk into drive I.It has worked without fail in the past , because my AV software used to flash up a warning that Autorun has been disabled for that device.

May 27, 2010I have a Nokia x6 16 gb..I had it for about a week in which time I added 14gb of music and the uk maps..All was working perfectly. However.... Last Saturday I decided to use the "comes with music" voucher that came with it..I selected the music I wanted and downloaded it and was told that I had to download the DRM software to play...I clicked yes and then waited and waited..it seemed my phone had frozen as ovi player would not transfer any music to it.. I unplugged it and tried to plug back in but got the dreaded "mtp device driver failed". I have tried everything I have read on these forums and the web including:- Deleting the folder in the private folder on the mass storage card. performing a hard reset on the phone (although my music was still on the card?) Deleting all of the nokia software and running the nokia cleaner and reinstalling... Doing the above but disabling Windows media player and reanabling it a later date still no joy.. I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my desktop so no options to reinstall WMP just disable. I have tried to plug it into my wifes' laptop which has windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I get the same message however her nokia 5800 works fine in her laptop..

Jan 24, 2010I've become fed up with Roxio Media Manager as it crashes my computers. I read the instructions to access my media card via mass storage.
-mass storage is turned on
-Connectivity is fine via desktop manager so the cable is fine.
-auto enable mass storage mode is on.
-I use XP pro latest service pack and latest desktop manager
blackberry is fully updated.
Should I not be able to see the media card as any other storage device in "My Computer"? Like a flash memory stick? I've tried various USB ports and 2 different PC's with same result. Is there an alternative to Roxio? This might solve the problem but computers just are not seeing this thing.

Dec 23, 2011I've searched all over the internet for solutions and have had no luck!When I connect my blackberry to my laptop (using windows) with the USB cable no message comes up on my phone about using it in mass storage mode. All that happens is the blackberry charges and Blackberry desktop manager opens, my laptop doesn't actually recognise it as a mass storage device.I have a blackberry bold 9700 using software version 6.0I've checked for updates using my blackberry and everything seems to be up to dateWent onto options>device>storage>ticked the box next to media card supportI then tried going onto device manager>double clicked blackberry martphone>details>Device instance path and it has a PID of 8004 so that's fine, there would be a problem if it showed 8001Tried downloading the tool anyway which is meant to solve a PID of 8001 in case but still no luckRestarted the blackberry, restarted the laptop, tried every usb port - still nothing!

Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?

I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

Jan 5, 2010Here what I done since the begging of the problem: when I first use, everything was ok (at least to me). One day without remembering to disconnect the device from Windows XP Sp2, I disconnected the USB cable to aswer a call (it was in mass storage mode).
After that don't remember exactly how but a few minutes laters after reboot the n900 some widgets disappeared from desktop. So I added them one more time but they won't come to desktop... I repeated many times the adding and after that the N900 gone crazy. Some applications still works but others didn't show the icon program on the menu, only the name under the icon appear, and when i tried to execute one of them the screen returned to desktop with all the widgets that first didn't show and the device reboot alone.
So I decided to flash and I followed every single step (that I found in a thread wrote by adamf) to flash maemo on N900 and I did it. But when I try to erase mass memory, the dots on the N900 screen stopped move and in the DOS windows there was: "suitable USB device not found, waiting". The N900 seems freezed. After 30 minutes I disconnected the USB cable and turned ON the device and it is OK. Well, all data is still there. Do I need to reset mass memory to erase the programs downloaded from the application catalogues? Flashing maemo doesn't do that?
Tried two times but the same thing happens and I quitted. I started to use the device and it works fine but I can't install some applications that first I had installed, like bounce evolution, APP widget, facebook widget (impossible installing error). But forecast weather and other widgets works... I can't understand why. Tried also other flasher like Global (first I have intalled Middle East) but I have the same error...
Nokia :: N97- Music Folders Not Moving To Mass Drive / USB Lead Not Recognized
Mar 27, 2010Ive got several albums on my memory card and I would like to transfer the music to the mass drive on the N97, I have dropped an album into sounds, then gone into the player and pressed the refresh option but unfortunately the album doesnt appear whatsoever.
Is there a certain folder that has to be made or even for the music to go into for the player to recognise it? Ive tried reversing the option and putting the album back onto my memory card, the album has disappeared altogether but still shows up for transferring to other folders. Can you possibly tell my where Im going wrong.
There is another problem thats arisen, the phone doesnt recognise the usb lead when attached to either my laptop or main pc, Im buying another lead so Im just hoping that would be an answer to my problem on that part.
