I'm also using a linux distro... for that it shows that the SD card & the USB debugging is connected.. But I cannot see any of the storages which are mounted on my pc.

I can connect my phone in mass storage mode. Can I update my software which is 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 once it is available ?Will it work ?
Also once update to 4.0.4 does OTG facility availabe for xperia neo? I can able to connect mouse but not usb pendrive. what cutting edge features I can get once I updated to ICS in neo / neo V?
I want to upgrade only if those features are great and do not miss types.
Since the Belle update, whenever I take a picture I am able to view it in the phone, but when I connect to a PC to transfer the picture in Mass Storage, the pictures are not there. I've looked in both the Mass Memory and Phone Memory folders. I've checked to see if the photo has a saved file name which it does. It finds them in Ovi Suite but I much prefer to use Mass Storage, it's so much easier and quicker to use.

Since it said that personal data will not be hampered, I did not create backup of contacts, sms etc. After downloading, I got message for updating failure. Now the phone is not turning on, showing "Sony " and then exclamation mark and turning off. I have a choice to repair the phone but I'm fearing of loosing my personal data.

-mass storage is turned on
-Connectivity is fine via desktop manager so the cable is fine.
-auto enable mass storage mode is on.
-I use XP pro latest service pack and latest desktop manager
blackberry is fully updated.
Should I not be able to see the media card as any other storage device in "My Computer"? Like a flash memory stick? I've tried various USB ports and 2 different PC's with same result. Is there an alternative to Roxio? This might solve the problem but computers just are not seeing this thing.
I have followed the online instructions (Go to OPTIONS ICON > DEVICE > STORAGE > BB BUTTON) but there is no option to turn on or enable mass storage!
