Dec 7, 2011My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.

Dec 10, 2010Ii've tried to do a backup of my phone since upgrading to android 2.1. All seems to work fine on the phone since the upgrade execpt the backup app. When backing up it will stop during the backup and say could not backup. I've tried a scheduled backup and in the notifiction bar it says that the backup failed. I've tried going onto the m.sonyericsson/backup site to load a newer version and that doesn't work, even with the settings/application unknown sources checked off.

Jul 30, 2014I recently updated to 5.02 from 4.4.4. Everything is fine except that I made my backup via "backup and restore" app on my 4.4.4 Z2. Now the problem is, 5.02 B&R app states that my file is now incompatible.
I have searched Google for any work-around and try downloading few preloaded non-xperia Z2 apks but not working. Also searched this forum but none found.

Aug 26, 2011I need to do an OS repair on the new 2.3 update because I keep getting that "android.process.media" error but before I do I would like to save my calendar events so I don't have to re-enter everything manually.. I tried the Sony Ericsson dashboard sync but I can't seem to figure it out.. since my phone is able to pull calendar events from my Google account, Facebook account and SE account isn't there any way to do the opposite (send events from my phone to the Google, SE or Facebook calendars [and then back again after the update])?

Aug 31, 2012Just got an Xperia Pro and I'm a bit new to Android systems, but so far I have to say it's a very nice phone and I'm very happy with it.
There are a few applications I'd like to uninstall though like the "Lets Golf" app if anyone can point me at how to do this I'd be grateful.
Further I'm not keen on having to sync and backup through Google, I would much rather do this direct to my PC without going anywhere near the cloud

Feb 7, 2011I was recently on a trip and went swimming with my phone. The covers were all closed and about 2 minutes in to my swim the the camera stopped working. The battery (which was fully charged) died within a couple hours after the camera stopped functioning. I tried plugging it into the charger and the charging screen came on for a minute and then dissapeared. It did not charge and since then the phone is dead. Aug 6, 2011What happened is my x10 stopped charging so I did a full backup, using backup and restore, so I had all the information saved. my service provider, when they called to replace the unit, advised me that they no longer supported the x10 and the handsets they could offer me were Blackberry!So although I do have an Android phone now (as well as the Blackberry) it's not an x10, or indeed a Sony Ericsson.Is there any way to get the messages, short of finding someone with a pre 2.3 x10 (as I believe backup and restore doesn't work on 2.3) who will let me restore them to retrieve them that way?

The native backup solution of Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) is not working on my setup.
On my windows command line:

Normally a phone with ICS should ask me to allow the backup process. But on my phone just nothing happens.Is this behavior "Unable to launch full backup confirmation" desired by Sony?What is the Sony way of doing a full backup of my phone?

Oct 26, 2010i purchased my X10 from greece and the version i bought was the X10i because that was the only offered but thats the one i need being that i now live in the USA and i use Tmobile (Tmobile 3G compatibility).about 15 days ago my xperia could not start (for the second time) so i sent it to the SE support center in the US (for the second time) and they told me that the motherboard is fried and they need to replace it which they did but the problem is that only the X10a is offered int he US so they changed it to that. im ok with that change due to the fact that i barely use it nowadays since i am near wifi most of the time.Now, my Problem is that before i sent it to get fixed (the second time) having an X10i i upgraded the OS to 2.X and i also backed up all my contacts/bookmarks/txts etc to my memory card (mini sd card) with backup and restore and i had it set to back it all up every night(which it did). unfortunately X10a does not have the 2.X upgrade yet but still i went to the m.sonyericsson.com/backup site to download the latest backup and restore software and when i tried to restore my contactsit tells me "could not restore data"is that because i dont have the new OS ( 2.X ) or is it because i dont have the X10i motherboard anymore? or is it because of some other reason i cant think of...?also, is there anyway i can restore my contacts/call logs/txts etc?
