I have an Xperia X10a. I wanted to update my phone, but am unable to backup my data as suggested. I get a message that says "Install blocked. For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market.' I do NOT have the option to change the settings.My provider is AT&T.
View 6 RepliesI have change cell from E71 to E72, before i change i do a phone backup to my E71 to the memory card however i put the memory card to new E72, i go to Office-> file mgr -> memoey cardarea click option but there no restore icon but when i go see my file under folder backup it has a Backup.ARC in it i have lost alot of contacts in itis there anyway to restore it. or at least i get to see my contact list.

I cannot even update the phone's software as nothing seems to work... I cannot use my phone properly and there is no way to call IRM (O2 said they could not help, great...).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to 5.0.0.419 on the Tour. I had to use the AppLoader because the desktop manager wouldnt work. I have done this many times with my storm and everything seemed to go well. I turned on my phone and it started like usual but all my information is gone. My contacts, messages, applications, everything. It did not back up any of the stuff before upgrading, but when i went to put an old back up on my device it asked if I wanted to override all the stuff that's already on it (1100 text messages, 100 contacts, 500 emails, etc.)So it seems like the stuff is on my phone, but i cannot find it.

The phone was on Android 4.4.2 when I used the Backup & Restore application to backup my System apps data, and some of my Downloaded apps with data. I had to upgrade to 4.4.4. I think it was a mistake that I didn't make a backup on 4.4.4 as well. Now I've upgraded to 5.0, and all of my apps & settings were kept, but I wanted to start clean, so I did a factory reset.
Now when I'm trying to use the Backup & Restore app again to Restore the backup file I made on 4.4.2, a window pops up saying "Cannot restore, Selected backup records cannot be used due to incompatible software versions. Please select a more recent backup file."

When i wanted to do Restore from backup... i was able to see my restore point.. i can select it.. restore process goes well .. all DONE.
BUT NOTHING RESTORED... not a single photo.. contact... app... anything...
I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?
I have tried scanning the QR code, I have tried manually entering the address and yes I have also used the following browsers;
Dolphin
Opera
Standard
and all I get it a blank page and no download!
Iv'e just completed the new update, but no longer have backup and restore to restore all my stuff...

It seems like it happens often and the only fix is to turn WiFi on and off, or tun the phone on and off. Its very strange because one minute I am using the WiFi just fine, and the next minute it isn't able to fetch data. I am using a new N-150 router, and the laptop and WiFi don't have these issues.

I am not able to backup the contact data of my nokia n79 to memory card. When performing the above function the progress bar progresses for sometime goes 50 % completed and then returns to the home screen. Tried formatting the phone/MC as well as re-flashed the firmware but no use. Is there anyone having similar issue ?.
