After using the on-device Backup, I want to restore just CERTAIN apps. Â Will the restore function give me the ability to choose which apps I want to restore or will it restore EVERYTHING i backed up if I click on restore?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI finally updated my iPhone to 5.1. I waited so long because of the fiasco updating my iPod Touch when 5.0 first came out. I thought it worked, I was pleased Apple worked out the bugs. Lo and behold, all of my apps and folders disappeared before my eyes. No problem I thought, I did a back up. Restore from back up. Fifteen minutes later, it looks exactly the same. Isn't a backup supposed to be of everything on the system so that if something goes wrong, you just revert back to the back up and either try again or wait for the process to be fixed? Seriously, get your stuff together.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]

the Genius Bar restored my iPhone (battery problems from system software crashes) and has b0rked two apps that have save data from October thru today. One is a game (impossible to level, but not a fatal loss). The other is a financial app that has been tracking money for eight monthsr. I can restore my apps from a backup WITHOUT having to do a general backup restore... Can I cherry pick my apps from backup?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4S, IOS 7.1.1. I did a factory reset, after first backing it up, and now that I am trying to sync all apps from that last backup, it says it cannot sync because this computer is no longer authorized. So I authorize the computer as it prompts me too, then it says, this computer is already authorized. I try to sync again, it still says computer not authorized. It's been a continuous circle. I have done everything from de-authorizing and re-authorizing the computer, removing the SC Info folder and restarting the computer and authorizing the computer associated with all Apple IDs, basically everything I have found on this site and everything support was telling me to do.

I've used JL cmder and the wipe commands from the security settings, but i'm still having the same issues.I traded up from a S1 to an S2 and when I received the new phone, obviously it was a refurb. There were loads of apps installed on the phone. I tried deleting them from the apps menu it options, but no go. A few apps I used, but there were no icons for them in any of the folder or on the main menu. I made sure they werent hidden either. A specific program was AIM for blackberry. I deleted it from options menu, then tried reinstalling it. Still no icon. I used JL cmder the second time to see if it would let me start fresh. Still no go.

I recently updated to 5.02 from 4.4.4. Everything is fine except that I made my backup via "backup and restore" app on my 4.4.4 Z2. Now the problem is, 5.02 B&R app states that my file is now incompatible.
I have searched Google for any work-around and try downloading few preloaded non-xperia Z2 apks but not working. Also searched this forum but none found.
When I go to m.sonyericsson.com/backup I get 'Cannot find message associated with key http.550' message. I would like to upgrade to Android 2.1 on my X10 mini.

I used the built in Backup and Restore app to backup my messages (conversations) to my SD card (everything else was backed up through Google already). Well, every time I hit the restore option it finds the file and acts like it is restoring, only to leave me with nothing. And every time I reset my phone it alerts me that a backup is detected and wants to do a restore.

Only about 20% of my phone book is showing and it says the SIM card is not available, none of my Apps returned and a theme I paid £1.99 for hasn't loaded properly as it's only got the wallpaper and none of the modified icons.My full contact list is still on the SIM card as I checked it in my previous phone that my Dad now has so why isn't it appearing on my phone? I have just updated my phone with latest update and it has wiped my Apps including the "Backup and Restore" app! (My files are always sent to my memory card with no problem) Now i cannot restore any of my files and its really F***ed me off, The Xperia 10 has to be the faultiest phone i have ever had, even when the phone is locked and in my pocket it manages to change my settings and forwards messages to random people!
