My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I recently updated to 5.02 from 4.4.4. Everything is fine except that I made my backup via "backup and restore" app on my 4.4.4 Z2. Now the problem is, 5.02 B&R app states that my file is now incompatible.
I have searched Google for any work-around and try downloading few preloaded non-xperia Z2 apks but not working. Also searched this forum but none found.
When I go to m.sonyericsson.com/backup I get 'Cannot find message associated with key http.550' message. I would like to upgrade to Android 2.1 on my X10 mini.

As part of that i am trying to download the latest SE Backup and Restore app I go to the link provided by S.E. for the latest Backup & Restore, the file downloads to the phone but when i click on the download to install I get a message that says: "For security your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the android market"

I used the built in Backup and Restore app to backup my messages (conversations) to my SD card (everything else was backed up through Google already). Well, every time I hit the restore option it finds the file and acts like it is restoring, only to leave me with nothing. And every time I reset my phone it alerts me that a backup is detected and wants to do a restore.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi purchased my X10 from greece and the version i bought was the X10i because that was the only offered but thats the one i need being that i now live in the USA and i use Tmobile (Tmobile 3G compatibility).about 15 days ago my xperia could not start (for the second time) so i sent it to the SE support center in the US (for the second time) and they told me that the motherboard is fried and they need to replace it which they did but the problem is that only the X10a is offered int he US so they changed it to that. im ok with that change due to the fact that i barely use it nowadays since i am near wifi most of the time.Now, my Problem is that before i sent it to get fixed (the second time) having an X10i i upgraded the OS to 2.X and i also backed up all my contacts/bookmarks/txts etc to my memory card (mini sd card) with backup and restore and i had it set to back it all up every night(which it did). unfortunately X10a does not have the 2.X upgrade yet but still i went to the m.sonyericsson.com/backup site to download the latest backup and restore software and when i tried to restore my contactsit tells me "could not restore data"is that because i dont have the new OS ( 2.X ) or is it because i dont have the X10i motherboard anymore? or is it because of some other reason i cant think of...?also, is there anyway i can restore my contacts/call logs/txts etc?

Only about 20% of my phone book is showing and it says the SIM card is not available, none of my Apps returned and a theme I paid £1.99 for hasn't loaded properly as it's only got the wallpaper and none of the modified icons.My full contact list is still on the SIM card as I checked it in my previous phone that my Dad now has so why isn't it appearing on my phone? It's extremely inconvenient not having access to it as I don't have a back up anywhere else and most of the missing numbers are the ones I use regularly.

I have just updated my phone with latest update and it has wiped my Apps including the "Backup and Restore" app! (My files are always sent to my memory card with no problem) Now i cannot restore any of my files and its really F***ed me off, The Xperia 10 has to be the faultiest phone i have ever had, even when the phone is locked and in my pocket it manages to change my settings and forwards messages to random people!

So I just been upgrading my Xperia Z2. The phone was on Android 4.4.2 when I used the Backup & Restore application to backup my System apps data, and some of my Downloaded apps with data. I had to upgrade to 4.4.4. I think it was a mistake that I didn't make a backup on 4.4.4 as well. Now I've upgraded to 5.0, and all of my apps & settings were kept, but I wanted to start clean, so I did a factory reset.

Now when I'm trying to use the Backup & Restore app again to Restore the backup file I made on 4.4.2, a window pops up saying "Cannot restore, Selected backup records cannot be used due to incompatible software versions. Please select a more recent backup file."
I had backup my data when my phone was on android 4.4.2. Since I updated it to android 5.1, I am unable to restore my data of that backup which I took in 4.4.2

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just unlocked my bootloader, and following the subsequent reset I tried to restore from my backup in the SD Card. Everything shows up, the SD Card with the date I backed up and everything. When I click the button, nothing happens. It registers my touch, I get the button animation and the little "ting" sound, but that's it. It stays in that screen and nothing happens.

I have recently had a replacement handset of a Xperia X10 which replaces my Vivaz. Before the handset was given back, I backed up my phone with all contact, calendar entries etc via the sony ericsson PC suite, now I want to restore this backup to the X10, the PC Suite doesn't recognise the phone. I have to now use the PC companion which doesn't help me much in restoring this backup.
