View 3 Repliesmy Xperia Neo has decided recently not to alert me to new messages when they arrive. I have checked my alert settings and nothing seems to be wrong there. Because of this, I have missed a couple of important messages, which were too late to deal with when i actually saw them. A good 3 hours arfter my phone said they were recieved.
To be clear, no notification bar message was displayed, my phone did not vibrate or make a sound at all.how I can fix it, but I do not wish to do a factory reset.
I have an issue with sms from just two senders with android phones, Samsung phones. The messages they send appear in inbox and taskbar but when opening the conversation the messages do not display at all, very annoying. I have tried force stop, clear data and restart but messages just don't appear.

When viewing "Messages" im getting Emails but its also displaying BBM messages too, the help files say check Filters but i dont even have that as an option when clicking Menu > Options. I just want Emails displayed in messages nothing else, SMS and MMS is together in another view, which is fine.
I've just got an x10i, 2 days ago, mainly for the huge screen.The problem I have is films only play as tiny thumbnails, about 1 x 1.5 inch.I've transferred by drag and drop and via media to go, even tried setting defaults, but to no avail.I've figured out most things with my phone but not this.It's really infuriating as I've bought a phone for it's big screen only to watch small sized clips.

Before no other folder available inthere other that the dcim, now maybe due to image or camera app, it added some folders. I assume this is for the "fish eye" app. I have all these files in my image folder. Would I have a problem if I remove it? I want to remove to free up some RAM/spaces.
View 2 Replies View RelatedInitially I used my Z3 without SD card. Everything word fine: album AND the foto widget which allows to browse through taken pictures.
After
- installing an SD card,
- changing the location for newly taken pictures to SD card
- AND moving some pictures to other directories -
- AND creating a number of .nomedia files on these directories to make these pictures not appear in the album nor in the foto widget,

the foto widget shows a broken image icon for ALL pictures taken until this change. All new pictures display fine in the widget and the album app.

I delete the album cache and data file (in settings -- all apps -- album).This didn't change anything (so far).

How can I force the album app/widget to recreate it's database and preview/thumbnails??
Anytime i miss a call, the missed call log takes over my messages application (even though i did not enable call logs to be displayed in my messages application). So when i open my message or email application i will not see my emails but my missed call logs will be displayed there until i do a hard reset.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9800. Ever since I got it, I've noticed that, occasionally, messages will not show up in my inbox. My phone will buzz when I receive them, and I'll have the "new messages" icon on the homescreen, but clicking the messages icon brings me to an empty inbox.
I've noticed this behavior impacting email (my gmail account is the only one I have going to the blackberry), text messages, and two different third-party chat clients.
I don't have any messages being filtered to different folders or anything like that. Clicking "View Folder" verifies that my inbox is selected.
But here's where it gets weird: if I compose a new email and send it, when I return to the inbox, all the messages appear. It's almost as if the inbox is having a problem displaying the message list, but once I force a new item to display (the newly sent message), it shocks it back to life.
Email messages on my BB are not displaying text or only portions of text message.Have checked memory and there is a lot of free space.

There have been several instances where I have sent a picture message to someone, after I send the photo, i go back to the messaging thread a few moments later and it doesn't show the picture(s)... It is just a bunch of jibberish displaying on the screen. how to get my HTML messages to display? I've tried taking the battery out and I've also tried "Get Images" and that doesn't do anything at all.
When I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
I have several text messages from several different people.The problem is the display only shows 1 text message string from that 1 person at a time.All the other text message strings are hidden from me .. until I delete THAT string.Oddly, sometimes I can see 2 text message strings from 2 different people .. but I cannot see all the others until these are removed.I can't even scroll down to see the other text message strings.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the new Media Player that was installed during the recent update of the phone. I have about 1500 music files on SD card, yet the player is only displaying 182 of them on the 'All Songs' playlist. Same goes for other playlists ('Album', 'Artist' etc.) The files could be read no problem with Mediascape. It's really annoying as the Android Market music player I use bases its playlists on the SE software (PowerAMP), therefore it is not adding any more songs than 182 of the Media Player playlist.
I've done the following so far:
- reinstall the update of phone software
- restart the phone
- unmount and remount SD card
- refreshed the playlists in SE Media Player and in PowerAMP
- randomly checked the music files for corrupted ones - none of them is damaged or removed; the folders are in the same place where they were before the update and I can play them on PowerAMP if accessed via ASTRO file manager, yet they still do not appear in SE Media Player.
what can be done to remedy the problem are more than welcome. I am extremely unhappy about it as it just tops the pile of problems I had since the Gingerbread update, including the struggle to retrieve my data backup file.
After updating my Neo V to 4.1.B.0.431, contact image in the call screen is very unclear and it's displaying as mixture of pixles. I dint face this on 2.3.4

It also doesn't display the answer/ignore options and will continue to ring until I switch the phone off! I have also been receiving 'Unknown' calls from known numbers too.
I have looked through your forums and have read the Settings/Personalisation/Manage Notifications fix. I am in the UK however and my settings don't appear to have these options at all. I am a carer for my 2 year old daughter and depend on my phone for doctor/hospital appointments, physio, emergencies etc. I have a few months left on the contract and if I am very tempted to settle contract early as the phone is no use to me while it is doing this.
when I try save my pics off my HTC One to my PC, they are stored on the phone in a 'thumbnail' folder no. Once I transfer them to the PC, I cannot zoom in on them at all as they lose all clarity completely. I can only imagine that the problem is the phone somehow saving the pics as thumnails rather than as they used to save.The pics used to store in DCIM/100media.They now appear to save in DCIM/thumbnails.

You can change the folder icon, BUT, it still shows the app thumbnails on top of that. What I'd like to do is have folder icons and no thumbnails, so that you can essentially get the same result as you would using the Categories app (being able to pick your own folder icon), except without the hassle of using a now-obsolete functionality. So, in essence, let's say you have an icon of a game controller/joystick. I want that to be my icon for my "games" folder. I keep the stylish icon with no thumbnails, but when I tap it, it opens up like a regular folder.
I assume that this would involve changing the way folders function within Springboard itself (not as simple as replacing a few files here and there). Have any developers made an add-on that disables folder thumbnails, or does anyone here know how one would go about doing that?
