I have converted the mp4 file format, and have set the parameter as below Video Encode= MPEG4(Xvid) Video size = 320*240 Bitrate = 480 Frame rate = 29.97 Aspect ratio = 4.3 When I try to transfer the file into my memory stick it load this message "the file type is not supported in this device".
After I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software from the RIM website I couldn't install it onto my machine. The message read that it was not a valid and supported file type.
One problem I am having is that I will occasionally get an error message when trying to play a media file that I know the phone supports that says "the player does not support this type of file", or something like that. If I turn the phone off and back on, it plays fine, but will then give me the error later on in the day. The types of files I am trying to play are mp3 and xvid avi. One idea I have is that the music player widget is cause the problem because if you play an mp3, but then try to do something else while it plays(multitask) it will not play in the background like it used to. You have to actually go into the media player and create a now playing list. This is very annoying to me as I play a lot of media on my phone throughout the day and currently have to restart my phone 2 or 3 times.
I have a new HTC one M8 and a 64gb sd card. Last week my phone deleted an album that was playing fine. Put the songs back on the phone, played for a couple of days and now says that won't play - "unable to play this type of audio file".
I have downloaded some videos from youtube, educational purposes, and when I put them onto my SD card, I get a message stating that the video type may not be supported by my phone.... Well, it should support MP4.... any ways, move the video files onto my phone. Unplug it, and check.... Yeap, videos are playing fine. No distortion, no artifacting, no sound issues... No error messages!!!
So I plug it back in, put a few more videos on, MP4 again. Then check them again. All the videos I have put on, all play without any problems. So okay, should be good for later at work.
I get to lunch time at work, think "I'll watch some of these videos" open the folder, pick a video "Cannot play video - Unsupported file type" - WTH!?
Why is it that the videos play fine after they've been put on the phone, but after 6 - 7 hours, they suddenly become an "Unsupported file type"!! From checking the videos are ALL playing fine, to when I get on my lunch at work, my phone storage is not modified / updated in ANY way, by my input. So unless the G4 is corrupting these videos, I cannot see any logical reason for why I am having this problem.
I am looking to buy an external speaker to connect to my xperia play, preferably a sony branded one, but definately one that is portable enough to fit in my pocket.I thought I had found the one that fit the bill perfectly when I checked the sony site and found the MS 430 which is supposed to be fully compatible with the Xperia Play (it even doubles up as a phone stand, which is pretty neat). Now the problem is my jack is on the horizontal side of my phone (opposite side to the left flipper) and not on the top end as shown in the picture to connect a phone to this speaker. So therefore the speaker is not compatible with this phone, unless of course I have a unique phone with the jack in the wrong place or the phone is connected in the upright position, which wouldnt be very good when watching video playback.
I have rented bought a Sony z3 compact and have recorded several videos on it which will only play back the audio. As the memory is quite small I have saved them all directly to my SD card. Could it be something to do with this? I tried opening the videos on my computer but it says that the file is not supported. I would like to be able to see these videos
I am new to Samsung galaxy s6 and today have started getting a pop up when i unlock my phone saying NFC tag type not supported - what does this mean....
I've been having a problem since before i updated my phone, i've used 3 different USB cables(sony cables-the one i got when i bought it, also, it used to connect before and i can connect other phones so it's not the cables) on 2 different laptops (works with other phone) but all it does is charge and nothing more...it doesn't give me the ''connect your phone'' option. I went into connectivity, changed the connectivity mode, tried pc companion..nothing..my phone is not rooted or anything. i've unmounted and mounted my SD card in another phone and it works so it's not my SD..
My son got this a few days ago and he wants to put his favorite movie on his phone, so he can watch it on long trips. Is this possible and if so what format do i need to convert the movie into?
Using the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual. Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?

I have recently purchased a E63 in India. My earlier model was 9500 Communicator. I have transferred all the data from 9500 to E63 and all files etc. are opening properly, except files in the folder 'My Documents' which are 'Word' or 'Excel' files.
Whenever I try to open the file it says "File Format Not Supported".
I have a Nokia 7230 and have been trying to downlad fe explorer. First attempts unsuccessful as I was downloading a sis file, which I have since learnt isn't supported on this s40 os. So, found a jar version, which I've read should be supported on this model, only I'm still getting the same message "file not supported". This is my first ever attempt to download anything to a phone
I recorded a video using my LG G4 phone, and when I play it back on my G4, while watching it, I get an error "Cannot Play Video, unsupported file type". The video freezes, but I can still hear the video. I never had this issue with Samsung. How do I resolve it?
Although my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
I have been using my phone okay until recently, when I try to access items on my memory card via gallery/extras I get an error message " file format not supported" what could be the problem I cant even access pictures that I have taken using the phone, and it is still taking photos.I 'v tried switching on and off removing and returning the card but nothing!
So I was all excited about this whole zumocast thing when I got my bionic, but hardly any of the videos I try to stream work. Keeps saying video file format not supported. Zumocast claims it supports all video formats.
I have an XpressMusic 5130, When it finishes playing a mp3 file, it will go on playing the next file in my sim cardI want to stop it after playing the first file. How do I achieve it?
Is there a way I can make some of the pre-loaded games like Crash Bandicoot or Star Battalion and just make them like regular games so I can move them to an SD card and get get them off my phone?
I don't really want to delete them, as I like them, I just don't want them to be part of my phone if possible.
I'm trying to play a radio station on the N900 internet radio but I get the message that the media cannot be played, audio codec not supported. I was able to play the same station on my old N96 and other stations work on the N900.Is there something I need to download to sort this out?
I have put about 4gb of songs onto my sd card which i put in my phone. But for some reason it decides to not play certain songs and i get a notification at the bottom of the screen saying "unable to play audio file". I have tried the songs on another sd card have to same problem? They are genuine sd cards not no budget fake ones. Is there anything i can do to get the songs to work. There all MP3.
My cousin was looking over his old stuff and he found a Motorola Rokr E1.He gave it to me and I am trying to play music, but I cant play an mp3 file @ 320kbps rate. Is there a way to remove or mod my phone to play music with another player (I dont like iTunes anyway!)? What other cool mods can I do to the phone?
