not sure whats happened but I suddenly noticed my phone wont switch off? I have put lightning rom on there and its been great but i dont how or when, but whenever i power off, it goes off, makes a buzz, then black. A second later its booting up again?

For some strange reason my phone wont charge it off and when it is off it flashes on and off with the lightning and battery size to charge meaning it takes forever to charge. 5 hours of charge off and its only on 50% and then the battery dies within 2 hours when switched back on. Super annoying. Is it the phone or just need of a new battery.

A lot of people post about the 'Battery fully charged' notification being a pain but, I turn my phone off every night when charging but even then it vibrates when the charge is complete.
If there any way to disable this feature without rooting the handset?
I used my phone at 2pm today and when I left it it had good battery life left. Two hours later when I checked it there was no life at all and I cant get it to switch on. I've tried charging, taking the battery and sim card out but nothing. theres no lights of sound or anything - no life at all !!!!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was just playing a game, the phone got hot and turned off. I let it cool, it wouldn't turn on again. I noticed the blue light in the upper left stayed on and the phone was pulsing/vibrating a bit. I have been charging the phone for the last hour thinking that might be the issue. No. The blue light is still on. I tried removing the battery and SD card for 10 seconds before retrying to boot my phone. Nothing abut blue light and some pulses from time to time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn 28. 12. 2011. I received a firmware update for my SGSII. After that when I turn on bluetooth my phone begins restarting and battery is drained in 20 minutes. Phone becomes very hot and it is very complicated to turn off bluetooth because it keeps restarting and screen is mainly frozen when it appears. I tried put out the battery, but when I turn on the device, bluetooth is on and everything happening again. Everything is ok when I manage to turn off bluetooth.

*My phone is not rooted.
*I have not messed with any modifications.
*My phone's automatic update is turned off. (I haven't update since 4.42.)
*I've already erased the cache in recovery mode.
*I don't have a back-up.
My phone had died because the battery life ran out. I charged it fully and unplugged it. I kept it off for a little while, and when I turned it on it booted normally to the start-up screen, blinked off and restarted back to the screen; it remained stuck there. I can power off and enter recovery mode, but I can't power off. The charge logo appears when I plug it up, but it stays there with an empty power logo even after I unplug it. I have to always take out the battery to turn it off. What did I do wrong, and I can I fix it without having to wipe out documents? (I have a lot of writing documents).
Having issue with the alarm clock not staying on the alarm they choose. Today is the second time I chose an alarm and it didn't go off because the phone had a different alarm set.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my S5 2 days. When I am in the lock screen If i press the side lock button or get a notification (sms/email/eBay) or when my charge hits 100% The screen lights up.
I like this feature the only problem is then the screen does not go back out!! it stays lit until i tap the side lock button again or unlock the phone until it times out again .
I have checked developer options and nothing is ticked to keep screen on etc... I have also tried messing with screen lock times and stuff.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the S Planner-calendar. I am also syncing with my Google calendar. The thing is, I never need notifications for appointments, I look at the calendar from time to time anyway. So, I allways turn of the notifications but I still get them, the kind of turn themselves back on after a while and I get both notifications by push AND by email.

As the problem got worse it would intermittently vibrate and flash and stop charging, but then resume normal charging. The problem got so bad I was unable to get it to take a charge at all and the battery ran out completely. So I took it to the Verizon store. The guy plugged it in using his charger and it immediately started charging. Problem solved. I needed a new charger. Not so fast. Once I got it home and started using it again the problem returned. Today in frustration I turned the phone off. After a few minutes I plugged it in and it immediately started charging, and in less than an hour was at 100%. So I turned it back on and started making calls. After a while I plugged it in to see if it would charge and I get the same issue.
View 3 Replies View Relatedgalaxy s6 system ui turns on location often. I catch it about once every 2 days while on my phone. I long press the searching for gps and it shows "lollipop system UI". I'm guessing that is what is turning on the gps for a few seconds(~10s) every so often. I was wondering if there is a setting so it doesn't do that, because I think it's unnecessary.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 on Verizon. I currently use the gmail app for my personal email and the email service on the phone for my work email. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off notifications for the work email. They show up in both the status bar and as the number of emails I have on the email icon. I have tried going to settings through the email app itself, and I think I have unchecked everything there. I have also tried going through application manager. When I go through the application manager, there is a box to check that says "show notifications", but it's checked and will not let me UNcheck it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy s5 and a few days ago while i was charging my phone i started to hear a sizzling sound like something burning and i realized it was the USB in the charging port. i top it out immediately and it still charges but it only charges when it's turned off and when it's on it shows the little lighting strike on it but it's not really charging when plugged in(FYI it does not still have the charging symbol when not plugged in). Do I replace the battery or the phone. or is there nothing i can do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLike a lot of people, I prefer the Google keyboard over the Samsung one. Annoyingly, an icon appears in the notification bar whenever the Google keyboard is summoned. One way to get rid of this icon is to disable all other keyboards under Language and input -> Default keyboard -> Set up input methods. Unfortunately I've noticed that the Samsung keyboard keeps turning back on all the time.

I have saw several posts on people wanting the message preview to just say new message or just the senders name,i figured out how to get it to just say new message!!!
I set my security up last night to recognize my fingerprint, when i did that there is a option in there for you to click that it "hides content" when you click this,it just shows "New message" on your lock screen.
I'm guessing an e-mail account or something was taking over security settings?
