i just got a galaxy s2 and the videos keep crashing the phone while using the video player that comes with the phone. also, the phone crashes when watching video on the Internet app and embedded videos on webpages. dice player seems to work ok though.
View 9 RepliesI recently purchased a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy s6. I was really excited as I had heard nothing but good things.
Unfortunately the reality is very disappointing. My phone restarts itself all the time (6x in the last hour alone) and there are constant 'Unfortunately app x has stopped working' messages (15 in the last hour). The applications that crash are everything from FB to the keyboard to the Play Store, nothing consistent.
I have tried starting in safe mode to check if it was a third party app causing the problem, deleting the app cache, wiping the cache partition, a soft reset, a hard factory reset. Unfortunately nothing works and the problems continue.
I'm running Android version 5.1.1
Its been 4 weeks since I upgraded to SGS II,,so far so good,,have the following issues though:
1. the battery life,,I get just about 24 hrs with moderate usage,,
2. The phone gets reallly hot when the GPS or some of the games are on,,I mean reaallllyy hot.
3. I don't seem to be able to send videos via the MMS?? even a 6 second clips is rejected as (TOO long)??!!
4. If u write a text message that's too long ( more than 3 standard text messages) it converts to MMS!!
Despite the above,,,I am still very happy the I left the apple world for this,,cant believe I stayed with iphone for 2 years ??!!
Video files recorded on my sgs2 have the file extension mp4 but wont play on my sony bravia tv or via my sumvision cyclone mkv2 media player. They do however play on my windows 7 laptop.wehen playing a video on the sgs2 you can get more info by tapping menu/details. This tells me the format is 3gpp. I believe 3gpp forms a simple wrapper around the mp4 file and suspect this is the element my other devices can't handle.If I copy the files to my laptop and convert them to mp4 using [RZ Video Converter] program then copy them back to my sgs2... They now play fine on all my devices including the sgs2.

If I click on the pictures, they open as if they were a video, 'playing' anywhere from 5 - 10 seconds with a play bar below. There's no problem opening or downloading the photos, but it's weird/annoying that pictures are opening this way.

My external 8GB micro sd card shows I have 5.6GB available. However, my usb storage says I've used 12GB and have no free space. I guess the usb storage is the problem (unless there is something else) and I would like to know how I came to fill up the usb storage when I thought I was saving things to my external 8GB sd card.how to rectify the problem and also how to manage it in the future?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a G920F from an aunt at UK, so I have a Vodafone version of the phone, but when I received it, every app is crashing, I mean every app. Like Facebook, Google Play, Google+, Messenger, Instagram, everything.
I tried flashing the stock rom so I flashed G920FXXU2POGJ, a vodafone 5.1.1 stock rom and it still crashes. Btw the camera doesn't crash so it's okay. But everytime I use facebook, shareit, app crashes. So, flashing the stock rom wasn't useful. The next thing I did was flashing G920FXXU2BOFJ, a UK international 5.1.1, because I assume I cant downgrade the android version (just like in i9505). and everything still crashes.
I'm on Android Version 5.0.2 thru AT&T. My camera seems to occasionally crash when i first startup and it seems to crash about 50% of the time i take video in the middle of the video. I don't have any high resolution settings. why it keeps crashing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've filled the memory in my phone up and need to transfer some pictures off of it so I can go through with this 1GB software update. I've been wanting to transfer a glut of files off of it for a while as I'm always having trouble downloading new apps.
Every time I plug it into my PC and go to the folder with the images, it will either (a) load the folder so I can see everything, and then crash as soon as I attempt to copy the files to my hard drive. Alternatively, (b), it won't load the pictures at all and the Computer > Galaxy S5 > Phone > DCIM bar will load green forever (I have a screen capture of this but can't include it here.. )
I need to get these files off my Galaxy and backed up.
Recently I dropped my Samsung S5 into a swimming pool. Luckily, after patiently sitting it in Rice for a week or two and replacing the battery, it is working perfectly again.
Apart from one point - whenever I try to make or take calls the phone immediately crashes and then reboots - I have tried putting the phone into safe mode and the issue persists. I can't understand how the rest of the phone could be working perfectly (texts, internet, audio, etc.) but the calls are causing crashes?
I get a popup saying contracts has stopped working. I also have some video's apps from Swagbucks locking up the phone but that could be the apps. When I frist installed lollipop I guess 2-3 weeks ago a lot of stock apps issues a master restore fix all but the popup for contracts. The pop up appears after I close thee phone. contracts or message app. Clear cache. cache partition and did another master restore. I guess until there a update or the s6 comes out I am stuck with it.

Now every time i load up chrome. If crashes within 10 seconds using about 1Gb of RAM and 50% cpu. so chrome is totally unusable for me.
What i have done is
-exported all bookmarks from chrome desktop
-deleted all sync data
-removed chrome completely from desktop and laptop
-fully reinstalled android on my phone
-reinstalled chrome on devices
-imported bookmarks via desktop
-let them all resync
Still got the issue. Huge memory leak and crashing.
This started happening today for some reason. If I try to launch Asphalt 8 on WiFi the game just force closes at Gameloft splash screen after a few seconds. If I turn WiFi off and data on it launches, and once I'm in game I'm able to turn it back on and then it doesn't crash anymore. Same goes for Modern Combat 5, with the difference that without at least data it asks you to switch it on so I can't even use that workaround, so I can't run the game whatsoever. The apps are regualrly purchased, in case you're wondering... I'm currently running XtreStoLite 2.4 with Adam kernel and Xposed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI haven't had any issues with my Verizon Galaxy s5 until after updating to Lollipop 5.0. The default/pre-installed music player crashes very often. It won't start playing until pressing play a number of times, once it finally does play it will stop after the song has finished, if I try to skip a song it will usually crash once I hit the skip button but if I get lucky it will let me skip 4 or 5 songs before giving me the "Unfortunately, Music has stopped" error message.
It does crash sometimes mid song. I'm not sure what the issue is, as I said I haven't had a problem like this before updating. I will also randomly get an error message saying that Contacts has stopped working, which I have seen others report happening, but I haven't seen anything about the music player crashing. I have a 128GB sd card but I don't think that's the issue. Everything has worked fine until this update. Attached is a screenshot of the blank music player after I receive the error message ...
My s5's stock music app keeps on crashing when trying to go to other section and I am stuck at playlists. I tried to clear data but it didnt work. Can it be fixed without factory reset?
